It wasn't long before she was joined by Shiloh. Together they put the stuff where it went, and Shiloh took her deeper into the trees. They could still see and hear what was going on, but if they were not being obvious, they wouldn't be spotted. They shared a heated kiss, but didn't let themselves get carried away.
They stayed there for a moment until some arguing interrupted them. Endermon sighed. She wished she could be open about her maybe relationship with Shiloh, but that would cause more problems than she had already. Agreeing to leave at separate times so it would be less obvious, Endermon left first to see what the arguing was about.
She saw Dresden and Rutus fighting over a sleeping spot. It had premium access to the river, enough cover so people wouldn't immediately see what was going on, and ground clearance so yhe sleeper wouldn't get overrun by insects.
Endermon noticed where the soil had been washed away and any rain would leave a large enough puddle that would take some creative maneuvering to not get wet. She said Dresden should take it, and quietly told Rutus there was a better spot across the way.
Endermon took a spot close to the opening of the trees so she could see traffic or anyone happening upon them. She put her personal stuff in a hollowed out tree trunk. She found a flat space to make a bed, and then went to make a fire. She found one already made and Shiloh had a very self satisfied smirk on her face.
They sat near each other and talked about the move to the new campsite. Shiloh recounted how as she was waking up for the night, her driver was hell bent on getting out of the area, as a tree had fallen right where their camp was and had caused most of the area to be under water.
Endermon recounted the bird's message of urgency, and Shiloh just hummed in response. Endermon asked how she got there so quickly, as she had never heard the carriage. Shiloh said she got the carriage to safety and had the driver stay there for the night. She would point him in the right direction in the morning. Shiloh also said that their thoughts minus Endermon's were loud enough, that it sounded like they were right next to her.
Stolen story; please report.
Hearing someone approach, Endermon got up and started messing with the fire. Shiloh put on her mask and said she was going to patrol the area. Needing something to do, Endermon started making food for their dinner. It was a simple stew that she could probably make with her eyes closed.
Having gotten some actual dinnerware, it was easy to portion out three books and set them on the tree stumps that were around the fire. They all sat down to eat and surprisingly no one mentioned the lack of Shiloh or her missing the meal.
When Shiloh 'happened by' again, she casually mentioned how fortunate they were to avoid the tree falling down and water covering the old campsite. Dresden and Rutus sat there with their spoons halfway to their mouths. They looked at Endermon suspiciously and asked how she knew that was going to happen.
Endermon mock glared at Shiloh and said that being a fairy had her more in tune to nature and could 'sense' something was wrong, so she got them out of there. This seemed to satisfy them for the moment and she excused herself claiming stomach issues. She retreated to her sleeping space to find Shiloh already there.
They embraced and Endermon whispered that it was so hard to pretend not to know Shiloh very well, as she wanted to be able to not have to hide things, well certain things. Shiloh said she could always pretend to be under her 'spell'. Endermon snorted and asked if Shiloh was under hers instead.
