Chapter 48: The Forgotten Epic

Chapter 48: The Forgotten Epic

His Majesty Jupiter Titans, the reigning Emperor of the Titans Empire, had only one heir, Prince Damoer Titans. It was rare in the history of the Titans Empire for an emperor to have only one heir, and even more unusual that this sole heir was born to a humble maid!

If Felix's life was a tragicomedy, then Prince Damoer Titans's life was a tragedy through and through!

The prince, born to the lowly maid, initially did not catch the immediate attention of the then-Crown Prince Jupiter Titans. It was only after the preceding emperor was captured in the Salma Basin campaign and hung from a cross to be devoured by vultures that people began to recognize him.

The Salma campaign marked the greatest disgrace in the empire's history. As the crown prince and future emperor of the Titans, Jupiter decided to deploy the nation's entire military might to avenge his predecessor and wash away centuries of unprecedented shame. And it was during these times that people came to know of Damoer Titans, the single heir of the wise and valiant Crown Prince.

Jupiter Titans, hailed as the only heir in the empire's history to rival its founder, Emperor Aristotle Titans, had many accolades and honors to his name.

He declared to the world that he would not ascend the throne until he avenged the former emperor by personally strangling the Emperor of the Saturn Empire.

This led to the epic three-year Vulture Plains campaign, which spread across three great empires and sixteen duchies!

In this battle, the Emperor of Saturn was killed in action, and all the male members of the Saturn imperial household, known as the "Sons of the War God," fell in battle, nearly extinguishing the family's bloodline. The Saturn royalty was left with no choice but to be succeeded by a woman, the then-married Princess Jianna, who became the first and only Empress in Saturn's history!

It is essential to mention that Jianna's husband, the last Sacred Coffin Knight of Saturn, died in the Bone Wasteland campaign six years after the Vulture Plains, only second to it in scale.

In this battle, over half of the Titans royal men were either killed or wounded, and of the "Sixteen Great Knight Orders" at the empire's zenith, only three survived: the Dragonhawk Knights, the Griffon Knights, and the Royal Knight Order.

The Vulture Plains campaign ultimately ended when Jupiter Titans was gravely wounded by an assassination attempt by three legendary fighters, forcing an end to the expedition. This provided Saturn with a breather, sparing them the fate of annihilation.

Following this, the Titans and Saturn empires forged an undying vendetta against each other.

...

More than twenty years have passed, and even the most splendid history is gradually buried by time. The once wise and valiant crown prince has become the emperor of today, now aged and indulgent in pleasures, transforming from an emperor comparable to Aristotle Titans into the most debauched ruler, infamous for his lust in the empire's history.

But his former glory as the invincible conqueror still remained. As long as he lived, no one dared to make a move, not the 'Blood Rose', not the 'Venomous Eye Serpent', nor even the Empress of distant Saturn.

He is—Emperor Jupiter Titans!

He who once swept through the Saturn Empire with a hundred thousand cavalry and besieged the Saturn imperial city, ending the life of the Saturn Emperor with his own hands!

...

An emperor as distinguished as him should not be confined to one wife or a sole heir.

He deserved the empire's most intelligent and beautiful women; he should marry a cohort of noble-blooded wives. Only by such means could he sire a brood of exemplary successors to assure the Titans Empire a future sovereign of equal merit!

Yet, Emperor Jupiter Titans chose but one wife, Queen Angelina, among the most radiant and wise in the land. To date, Prince Damoer Titans remains his only child.

The prince, his only offspring, hosts lascivious parties witnessed by the public, calling to mind the wounds suffered at the Battle of Vulture Plains two decades prior, and the subsequent Skeleton Wasteland campaign he launched at great cost. Those with ulterior motives have pieced together many answers...

Prince Damoer seems the very synonym for tragedy, possessing a god-given grace in his looks, akin to Felix. Despite his excellence, next to the radiant Emperor Jupiter Titans, he seems but a firefly in the dark.

Post the Vulture Plains battle, though declared the crown prince, Damoer never won his father's favor. Perhaps overlooked by Jupiter in his youth and disparaged for his mother's lowly status as a maid, Damoer grew up under prejudiced eyes, warping his spirit.

At fourteen, he proclaimed his love for his caring aunt, Princess Helen, in full public view, daring to do so before Emperor Jupiter Titans himself...

Even the gods admired his audacity at that moment!

After a stern reprimand and confinement by Emperor Jupiter Titans, Prince Damoer became despondent. Meanwhile, Princess Helen, implicated by his act, was dispatched to a remote seaside city.

However, this move spared her from the royal massacre unleashed by Emperor Jupiter Titans in a fit of rage against a rebellion, nearly exterminating his own siblings!

When Prince Damoer next appeared, he was unrecognizable...

He donned thick, seductive makeup, his overly delicate and pretty face layered with perfume powder, his attire like a woman's gown. He mingled and laughed intimately with robust, noble men, and something ensued after the evening feasts...

The nobility, never short of those intrigued by handsome men, hence found the drastically changed Prince Damoer quite popular.

There are far too many tales here, rife with hidden anguish and sorrow, maybe just leaving behind wails and distorted souls...

But it's all about to end, for with Lady Elizabeth's decree to send him to meet the ancestors of the Titans Empire, Prince Damoer is bound for death's embrace...

Death, for such a tragic figure, may offer the final twist of comedy in his life's journey.

And from this moment on, the skies of the Titans Empire will be clouded with conspiracy and gore!

Countless figures from the shadows will step into the light, armed with boundless ambition, challenging the once mighty "Child of Divine Might," now a feeble emperor, Jupiter Titans.

Spears up!!!
