Chapter 15: Undead Attendant

By four in the morning, the transformation of the warhammer ogre servant was complete. Its final form looked more like a beast than a humanoid creature.

Its gray eyes clouded with a pale murkiness, a trait of semi-undead beings, exuding an aura between the living and the dead.

The failed specimen of the dark species modification, now fully undead, was of no use to Felix. He needed no undead ogre battle servant, so he decapitated the failed creation.

This experiment made him realize he needed additional help – managing everything alone was overwhelming. He required some undead attendants.

The successfully modified semi-undead warhammer ogre specimen was in recovery. After a week-long transformation process, it had lost over a hundred pounds, giving it an almost skeletal appearance.

The initial stage of semi-undead was the most vulnerable. Felix planned to allow it a week of recuperation before proceeding to the next phase of mutation and stimulation modification.

Becoming a semi-undead creature was just the first, yet the most crucial step. It laid the foundation for all subsequent modifications. Semi-undead creatures, with their mutant attributes, possess high malleability and assimilation capabilities.

Fully undead beings, merged entirely with the force of death, begin to reject other types of energy, even other negative energies, making them less adaptable and unable to merge with different elemental forces.

However, semi-undead creatures are different. They retain the essence of the living and harness the power of the dead, making them an elemental paradox.

Though they still have some repulsion, they are not limited to a singular elemental force, offering significant malleability. Injecting undead creatures with dirty blood from a higher demon might only enhance their strength slightly or, worse, cause an elemental explosion!

Considering the preciousness of dirty blood, it would be a loss.

But injecting a semi-undead creature is different. The powerful devouring force of the dirty blood might consume all the chaotic elemental forces within the semi-undead and transform them into a new power. It's a gamble with a not-so-small chance of success. If successful, the transformed creature's strength would be considerable!

For a Gamma Master, perhaps in the distant future, this transformation could be applied to oneself!

This was why Felix was willing to invest such effort and pay such a price.

Gamma Masters are thieves; they enjoy stealing power from the laws of the universe. They are always seeking loopholes to exploit, regardless of the cost.

The semi-undead ogre specimen needed a week to recuperate. Felix had already programmed these seven days' instructions into the golden golems. These not-so-intelligent golden golems would automatically bring three fat sheep to the cage daily as food for the semi-undead ogre specimen.

During these seven days, the semi-undead ogre needed to consume a large amount of meat to replenish the energy it had expended. Felix had experienced a similar change.

The stimulation of negative energy greatly increases an organism's appetite, and this period was when the flesh withered by negative energy starts to rebound.

After conducting a large-scale experiment, Felix realized he couldn’t manage everything alone. He needed servants, loyal servants.

The intelligence of the golden golems was quite limited; they were fine for simple tasks like carrying stuff, but for more complex tasks, they were not very effective.

As for the succubus sister, a delicate beauty, Felix couldn't bear to have her serve ogres, which reeked of foulness. He even suspected she might murder him in his sleep if he asked her to do such a thing.

Thus, Felix had to think of another solution. Alchemical servants took a long time to cultivate, and time was precisely what he lacked most at the moment. The only option left was to summon undead attendants.

Undead attendants typically served liches and high-ranking undead sorcerers. They came from hell, or some banished alternate dimension, and even possibly from among the slaves of the Grim Reaper!

The past lives of undead attendants could have been evil necromancers, cunning demon warlocks, or even the souls of death Gamma Masters!

Even the gates of hell were reluctant to accept these sin-laden souls. They were exiles of the soul, not recognized by the laws of nature, wandering between planes, or existing as slaves to the Grim Reaper.

These malevolent souls drifted in the crevices of space, only getting a chance at a new life when the Grim Reaper remembered them.

The invention of the undead attendant summoning involved a powerful undead sorcerer, a legendary, nearly epic figure who had made a pact with the Grim Reaper. In exchange for life force, he obtained these banished evil souls from the hands of the Reaper.

The powerful necromancer made enslavement pacts with these malevolent souls, giving them strength and a chance to live again.

In return, the necromancer demanded absolute loyalty and servants with rich experience to assist in magical experiments. Although the memories of these exiled evil souls had become chaotic and lost over time, their intelligence, derived from humanoid beings, remained.

With some guidance from the necromancer, they could become loyal and smarter servants than golems.

The ritual for summoning undead attendants was recorded in "The Compendium of Necromancy," specifically in the "Summoning Servants" section.

Since Felix wasn’t a true undead being, he couldn’t use the power of death to open the gates of the undead plane and directly summon souls.
