Chapter 36: The Buried History of the Realm

Chapter 36: The Buried History of the Realm

"Tsk, tsk, being handsome sure is a hit with the girls," came a light, teasing laugh, accompanied by a fragrance as fresh as dew, drifting into Felix's nostrils with the wind.

Without looking back, Felix knew who had approached. That woman's voice was unique, and her scent even more so. It wasn't like any perfume. In fact, it shouldn't even be a scent belonging to a human.

"What is that thing?" Felix clipped the silver knife to his waist and added a piece of dry wood to the fire in front of him, asking indifferently.

"What are you referring to?" The woman known as Silver Fox sat down beside Felix, holding a leaf between two fingers, vibrant as if freshly plucked.

Felix watched the masked woman beside him with a hint of surprise, his gaze fixating on the green leaf between her fingers. If he remembered correctly, there wasn’t a single tree for miles around these vast grasslands. How then, could she have such a leaf?

The mysterious woman.

"If you like it, I'll give it to you," Silver Fox blinked her sparkling eyes, noticing Felix's focus on the leaf, and teased with a slight smirk.

"Thank you." Contrary to what Silver Fox expected, Felix really reached out and took the leaf from her fingertips, thanking her softly. Even more baffling to the masked woman was that Felix casually popped the leaf into his mouth.

Definitely a freshly picked leaf – the sensation of dew on it couldn't be mistaken. His taste buds told Felix it had the flavor of morning dew.

How to explain the origin of her leaf?

"You really ate it?" Silver Fox pointed at Felix with her jade-like fingers, her face shifting from teasing to a slight stupefaction, as if looking at a monster.

"Mhm." Felix nonchalantly nodded, licked his lips, and asked earnestly, "Tastes good. Got any more?"

"Tell me, what did you feel?" Silver Fox finally gave up on outlasting Felix in patience. She felt if she didn’t speak up first, the boy with a human body but an undead aura could sit with her all night.

Finally broke the silence, huh?

Felix's lips curled slightly, his gaze fixing on the masked woman's face, as if trying to peer through the thin black veil to see her true appearance.

That tangible gaze made Silver Fox slightly uncomfortable. She involuntarily turned her head away, but when she came to her senses, she realized this subconscious action seemed to have weakened her stance.

To regain the upper hand over Felix, Silver Fox straightened her ample, firm chest and leaned closer to Felix. Her rose-like lips approached his clear earlobe, whispering seductively, "Do you want to see? I'll show you when we're alone, okay?"

The pale, translucent earlobe, with its faintly visible blue veins under the moonlight, inexplicably tempted Silver Fox to touch and squeeze it. Her tongue licked her lips, her eyes filled with allure. What she really wanted to do was open her mouth and bite fiercely onto that tender earlobe, leaving a neat set of teeth marks.

Before she could get close, Felix sprang away like a startled rabbit.

A step back each, no winners, no losers.

Felix didn't want this cunning and slightly eerie woman to discover the secret of his ears. He could imagine if this wicked woman learned of his weakness, he would face an unbearable situation throughout their journey.

"First, tell me what that thing is," Felix's pale face showed seriousness. He waved his hand to stop Silver Fox's approach, speaking gravely, "That thing gave me a very special feeling, but I can't clearly identify it."

"You must tell me what it is first. Then I can give you an answer." After speaking, Felix opened his senses. He needed to be sure this woman was telling the truth. Ever since he first saw the crystal skull, Felix had felt a special resonance, an energy resonance not belonging to Frost Power.

The masked woman slightly furrowed her brow, hesitating for a moment before reaching into her bosom. In Felix's disbelieving gaze, the mysterious masked woman fished between her towering peaks and, as if by magic, produced a purple crystal skull.

The skull was the size of an adult's fist, and Felix was certain that even with her ample assets, the woman couldn't possibly have concealed something that large. The only remaining explanation was a magical space.

"Seen enough? If so, pull your eyes back and listen to a story," said Felix, his gaze tangible.

However, the masked woman probably didn't think Felix was pondering how she managed to pull out such a large object from between her breasts. From a female's perspective, a male's gaze fixated there wouldn't leave much room for other interpretations.

Perhaps it was Felix's imagination, but he thought he detected a hint of shyness in the woman's eyes as she avoided his gaze.

"During the second Elemental Tide, also known as the second Abyssal Invasion of the Delrano world, the Tree of Life finally completed its transformation of this ancient world. A new belief system was born, and the Goddess of Life, after sleeping for tens of thousands of years, finally awoke from the ancient tree amidst countless calls of faith.

From that moment, the first true god was born in the Delrano world.

A world with a main god will inevitably establish a pantheon corresponding to it. In that era, a group of sub-gods gathered at the feet of the Goddess of Life was born.

The first batch of sub-gods was the high elf race. They consumed the fruits of the Tree of Life to initially consolidate their divinity. These individuals' names can be found in history; they were the legendary beings of that era.

In the second Elemental Tide, the Abyssal Demon Lords first discovered this material realm, their invasion force not particularly strong. But in the third Elemental Tide, not only the Abyssal Demon Lords but also devils from Hell set their sights on this remote but ancient continent."

The mysterious masked woman paused involuntarily and then continued gravely, "Kid, you seem to be from another realm, just like me. So, how much do you know about realms?"

"Nothing at all," Felix responded, frowning deeply.

"How can you know nothing? Then how did you come to this world?" The woman's face involuntarily showed surprise.

"I don't know. I've lost my memory," Felix felt a sharp pain in his head, but he suppressed it. He needed an answer, at least to know who he was.

"Inter-realm shackles," the masked woman looked at Felix incredulously, falling silent for a while before slowly saying, "I don't know why you lost your memory. But one possibility is the inter-realm shackles, a punishment by the Elemental Balance Law for gods who forcefully cross realms."

Felix shook his head lightly, saying indifferently, "I am not a god."

"I know," the masked woman looked at Felix strangely and spoke, "Divinity and divine light cannot be hidden. Your power, according to the classification of this world, falls within the range of a fourth-tier professional, similar to a Sword Saint or a Great Magician."

The masked woman closed her eyes in contemplation for a moment, then slowly continued, "It's hard to cross the barriers between realms.

This is the third realm I've traveled to. In my knowledge, the realms I've encountered are divided into four systems: the Upper Realm, the Material Realm, the Lower Realm, and another special type, the Elemental Realm.

The Upper Realm represents the forces of law and order, or simply put, the Upper Realm is the realm of gods. The most powerful Upper Realm I've sensed is Heaven's Door. The Upper Realm is dominated by single-attribute elemental energy, while the Material Realm is always dominated by the four natural elements.

The Lower Realm is the Abyss and Hell, which, even for me, represent chaos and danger, and I cannot sense their energy systems. As for the most special, the Elemental Realm, let me ask you, how much do you know about the history of the Delrano world?"

The masked woman suddenly changed the subject, inquiring about Felix's knowledge of Delrano's history.

"A little bit," Felix replied with a slight frown, his voice earnest. He was eager for the masked woman to continue, feeling that the knowledge hidden in her story might be the path he needed to move forward.

"So, do you know what this ancient world was like before the high elves brought the Tree of Life here?" The masked woman looked at Felix, who was deep in thought, with a smile in her bright eyes.

"Fire, lava, cracked and scorching earth," Felix hesitated for a long time before cautiously speaking.

The corners of the masked woman's mouth lifted slightly as she said softly, "Before the high elves brought the Tree of Life to this ancient world, the dominant life forms of this world were not ancient orcs, but fire elementals."
