Chapter 44&45: Exalting the Kingdom of God

The negative energy surging from the stars became increasingly fierce, and the star representing the Kingdom of Asmodeus grew dimmer. It began to fall, and the world seemed to echo with a mournful cry, a ghastly wailing that permeated the heavens and the earth.

As the star dimmed and fell faster, just as it was about to crash from the sky, a figure radiating silvery-white light appeared. This mysterious figure, whose body was composed of intricate magical patterns and made entirely of metal, caught the falling star with their hands.

They lifted the increasingly dim star, and a deep, chanting voice traveled from the sky to the ground. Amidst the trembling of the earth, a gate made of blood-red special jade slowly rose. Then, countless mournful spirits surged out from the gate, trying to escape, but the silver figure waved a hand, and a dark red light bound these spirits.

More and more spirits poured out from the blood-red gate, all bound by a special dark red energy. Finally, amidst their piercing wails, they were absorbed into the dimming star by the metallic figure radiating silvery-white light.

The spirits screamed, struggled, and wailed, but this could not change their fate.

The dark red energy formed a channel, extracting countless spirits from the blood-red gate with immense force, then injecting them into the already dim Kingdom of Asmodeus. As the spirits were devoured, the dim star suddenly burst forth with dazzling light, once again rising into the sky under the support of the figure glowing with silvery-white light.

The rate at which the dark red energy channel extracted spirits from the blood-red gate slowed, and the sounds coming from within were no longer the wails of spirits but rather the furious howling like that of hunting hounds.

It was the voice of Cerberus.

A massive head emerged from the blood-red gate, gazing at the silver figure in mid-air with eyes filled with extreme hatred, then bit down on the gate made of blood-red jade.

The pillars of the blood-red gate shattered and collapsed with a thunderous crash.

“The Gates of Hell,” Felix recognized them as soon as they opened.

However, he didn't expect that Gamma, his mysterious teacher, would start with such a grand gesture, opening the Gates of Hell to draw energy to replenish the faltering Kingdom of Asmodeus.

But what surprised Felix even more was that Gamma was using the power of the Shadow Queen Christie. Felix had once sought power from the Shadow Queen Christie, offering half his soul as the price. He was very familiar with this pure dark power.

When the Shadow Queen Christie ascended the altar, she had stolen the soul of the Plague Maiden and shattered Asmodeus' scepter. Now, Lady Ireland and the mysterious Gamma had defeated Asmodeus, even gravely wounding his soul, pushing his kingdom to the brink of collapse.

Shadow Queen Christie, Lady Ireland, and the mysterious Gamma.

In the midst of it all, Felix seemed to grasp a thread of connection, although he couldn't confirm it yet.

There was a significant connection between these three. Felix was all too clear about the powers of Gamma and Lady Ireland. Together, they might not be less powerful than a lesser god, but to defeat or even gravely injure the soul of a god like Asmodeus seemed impossible.

Hence, the only explanation was that the Shadow Queen Christie played a crucial role in this.

As a descendant of the Goddess of Pestilence, possessing the perfect body of an ancient deity, mastering the shadow element and the Power of Pestilence, the Shadow Queen, nearly a thousand years into her deification, was as powerful as Asmodeus, one of the few high gods within this crystalline universe.

What puzzled Felix, however, was why the Shadow Queen Christie, after killing the god Asmodeus, did not merge his kingdom but instead handed it all over to the mysterious Gamma.

Suddenly, something occurred to Felix.

He couldn't help but exclaim aloud.

“A Pantheon.” Felix took a deep breath and murmured in a low voice: “Could it be that the Shadow Queen Christie is forming her own pantheon?”

“The God of Darkness, Saint Elouan, representing the forces of light. If a god of a neutral faction were born, then a perfect pantheon would be formed. The Shadow Queen Christie would then step towards the throne of the Supreme God. Lady Ireland left him with a wealth of knowledge, the legacy of Saint Elouan.

Many don't understand why the supreme archangel Lucifer betrayed My Lord.

But Felix now understood why.

Heaven represents light, Hell represents darkness, and the birth of a neutral faction god would complete the cycle, recognized by the laws of the universe.

Sadly, My Lord ultimately disappeared mysteriously

The birth of a new perfect pantheon signifies a new era for the gods.

This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience.

If the Shadow Queen Christie successfully forms a pantheon comprising the three factions of good, neutral, and evil, then a new world system will be born. The entire crystalline universe will enter the Fourth Era.

If all these conjectures are true, then Felix couldn't help but marvel.

What a terrifying ambition.

The changes in the sky became more intense. After absorbing a multitude of spirits, the kingdom left behind by Asmodeus rose once more.

The changes in the sky became more intense. After absorbing a multitude of spirits, the kingdom left behind by Asmodeus rose once more.

The overflowing, surging negative energy was absorbed back into the kingdom, now a star. The figure emitting rays of silvery light in mid-air summoned a golden chariot, drawn by four nightmarish steeds. On the golden chariot stood a throne radiating brilliant golden light. The silver figure slowly seated themselves on this golden throne, holding the star – now the kingdom – in one hand and a pure gold whip in the other, driving this enormously grand chariot towards the heavens.

The silver figure soared higher and higher until they vanished from the sky, leaving behind only a slightly dimmed star hanging in the night.

As the pearly white figure finally disappeared into the sky, one of Cerberus’ heads let out a resentful howl at the rising star, only to retreat helplessly back into the black void.

The dust settled.

A strange, eerie silence enveloped the surroundings.

Everyone felt a difficulty in breathing, having endured the appearance of Saint Elouan, the fall of a deity, and then the exaltation of a new god to the throne. Even their hearts, it seemed, were slightly overwhelmed.

Such a scene might not occur even once in tens of thousands of years.

But as the excitement cooled down, these powerful beings from various parts of the Delrano world closed their eyes in contemplation.

A new Saint Elouan was born, Asmodeus had fallen, and the entity emitting silvery-white light, an elemental life form, became the new God.

What did all of this signify?

And consequently, Felix, the only one who had been close to the newly born Saint Elouan, became the center of everyone’s attention.

Unbeknownst to many, the ascetic monks training in the St Pilds Cathedral also began to guard Felix, warily watching over the powerful beings from other parts of the continent.

The night was cool as water, gently caressed by a light breeze.

All around was calm. Had it not been for the residual elemental fluctuations in the air, no one would guess that such a rare event had taken place here.

The fall of Asmodeus and the birth of the new Saint Elouan, a new god ascending the throne, was momentous.

It wouldn't be long before the events here spread across the entire continent, perhaps even among countless planes.

Lady Ireland, on her way to heaven, seemed to have conveyed a divine decree to the bishop of St. Pilds Cathedral. Her words could now be considered a decree. Thus, Felix and Marilyn received a warm welcome at the cathedral.

But others drawn by the elemental fluctuations were not so lucky. Not even the legendary powerhouses were spared; the adjudicators in charge of the cathedral's security politely escorted them out.

St. Pilds Cathedral was the first foothold of My Lord in the Delrano world, a gathering place for ascetics, and a breeding ground for high-ranking church adjudicators.

In essence, St. Pilds Cathedral was as dangerous as the abyss, especially compared to evil beings.

"Saint Elouan, a fragment of divine power."

Felix sat at the window, gazing at the moon in the night sky, lost in thought. Thanks to Lady Ireland, he was treated well at the cathedral, and even Marilyn benefited from his presence.

"Princess Helen, daughter of the sea, are you really a traveler from another world, a child of the plane blessed by the laws?" Felix's lips curled into a cold smile. He tenderly touched his heart, where a wound lay, and murmured, "How will you react when I return?"

Standing, Felix looked up at the cold, clear moon and sighed, "It feels good to have my memory back."

There was a soft, rhythmic knock on the door. Without using his psychic network, Felix knew it was Marilyn. After all the day's events, the silver dragon must have had many questions.

"Come in, the door's unlocked." Felix picked up a snow-white priest's robe and draped it over himself. His old clothes were somewhat worn, and now that he remembered his ranger past, he felt slightly uncomfortable in them.

Marilyn slowly opened the door, but froze upon seeing Felix in his white robe.

His snow-white hair shimmered under the moonlight, his pale, handsome face showing a youthful innocence yet bearing the solemnity of a man who had experienced much. He wasn't particularly tall, but his slender frame in the white robe exuded an air of classic nobility, a stark contrast to his previously delicate appearance.

What shocked Marilyn most were Felix's hands.

Pale, almost dazzlingly white, his fingers were like sculpted ice, veins subtly visible. In the moonlight, they appeared almost transparent.

Such unique hands.

At first sight, Marilyn felt an urge to make them part of her collection but quickly suppressed it. As a dragon close to humans, she knew better than to let down her guard around them.

"Marilyn, Princess of the Silver Dragons."

Felix's slightly effeminate face smiled as he played with a gold coin, watching Marilyn intently. "So, esteemed Princess of the Silver Dragons, I'm curious about your intentions in approaching me."

Felix, with his newly regained memory, exuded an indescribable ease. His casual demeanor slightly angered Marilyn, but it also inspired awe.

Now closely associated with the newly born Saint Elouan, Felix's energy clearly exceeded her manipulative abilities. His pact with Saint Elouan emitted a dangerous aura that Marilyn couldn't ignore. She had no doubt that this seemingly unchanged man possessed power comparable to hers.

"You have value to me," Felix said, sitting at the window. The only other place to sit was his bed, which Marilyn approached gracefully and sat down.

She wore a deep purple dress, her body exuding a strange, dew-like fragrance. Her long, light green hair fell over her snow-white shoulders, her features were strikingly beautiful, and her amber eyes shone with a dragon's unique charm, momentarily distracting Felix.

"I intend to leave this plane, and I can't do it alone. From the moment I saw you and realized you weren't from this plane either, I thought of collaborating with you. You have value to me, and it's worth my effort," Marilyn said, meeting Felix's gaze with a calm and composed air.

"Heh, I'm satisfied with that answer," Felix replied, his eyebrows arching on his handsome face. He extended his hand, saying, "Then, I hope our collaboration will be pleasant."

Marilyn was slightly surprised by Felix's gesture, but as a dragon, her wisdom was unquestionable. She took his pale, slender hand, saying meaningfully, "You're an interesting little fellow."

"Pleasant collaboration."

The cool touch and jade-like

sensation of his hand reignited Marilyn's desire to possess it. She tightened her grip, drawing a circle on his palm with her tender finger.

Felix felt a slight tickle in his palm, as if sensing the woman's playful gesture. A faint blush spread across his pale, handsome face.

Blushing?

This surprising discovery excited Marilyn. She licked her lips, a seductive smile playing at the corners of her mouth.
