Chapter 15: Humanoid Beast

Chapter 15: Humanoid Beast

As Felix chanted the final verse of the spell, the ogre shaman lost all resistance. Its gaze was vacant, mouth agape, drooling thickly, appearing much like a mentally challenged child.

"Stand. Walk. Attack the wall."

Felix released the ogre from its adamantium restraints and began to command it to perform simple actions with his mind, such as standing, walking, and attacking a target.

The ogre shaman's movements were sluggish and stiff, resembling a slow-moving robot. However, as Felix's commands grew more complex, the ogre started to exhibit basic instincts of intelligent life. Its intelligence was clearly limited, at best comparable to a five-year-old child. Its attacks were simple, just straightforward chops without any finesse.

Felix was astonished when he measured the creature's strength. After being enhanced by demonic rune tattoos, the ogre shaman was a true beast! Felix conducted a more detailed analysis of the ogre's arms during the strength test.

Felix was now delighted. With the ogre's monstrous brute force, who cared about lack of technique? One hit was enough to kill, whether it be man or monster!

Felix's idea now was to equip the ogre with a huge iron rod, adorned with random demonic runes, fashioned like the totem poles used by legendary tauren chieftains, and then hand it over to the ogre shaman.

In a one-on-one fight, Felix would use his ice powers to freeze his opponent, slowing them down, and then his humanoid beast-like minion would smash them with the thick totem pole!

And that's not all. If he activated the runes, enhancing the weapon with bloodlust, wouldn't the iron rod spin like a windmill?

Thinking about this, Felix's blood boiled with excitement. The scene was going to be incredibly violent!

Closing his eyes, Felix sensed the change in his mental power. Ogres were generally of low intelligence and weak in mental strength. By his estimation, with his vast mental power, he could sustain at least six enslavement contracts!

Six ogre shamans, clad in heavy armor and wielding totem poles, would be enough to take on a small knight's brigade with their beast-like killing power!

At this moment, he realized he had missed his calling as a demon warlock or summoner. With his immense mental power, enslaving a high-level demon might even be possible!

But this thought was fleeting. Both summoners and demon warlocks paid a hefty price to enslave other beings through summoning contracts. Demon warlocks eventually turned into undead or dark species, while summoners had their lifespans drastically reduced. Many creatures summoned from other planes or the abyss liked to steal the life energy of summoners.

In this regard, puppeteers had an advantage since they mostly enslaved puppets they created or modified themselves, posing less risk.

Feeling the formidable physical killing power of the ogre battle puppet, Felix's original puppet-making plan changed again! Instead of amassing cannon fodder, he preferred to go the elite route. If he could acquire a few more ogres with such high physical strength, he felt he could even slay dragons!

Of course, he could only face off against the gold subspecies of glaurung.

Moved by this idea, Felix, who was short on funds, had to sell more gems from Felendia. After gathering 30,000 Caesar gold coins, he headed to the adventurers' hall as an alchemist to post a high-level team task.

"Buying warhammer ogre shamans, limited to ten; buying warhammer ogres, limited to six; buying blade ogre warriors, limited to three."

At the end of the task information, Felix stated that if anyone could capture the legendary two-headed ogre shaman, he would be willing to pay a high price of 100,000 Caesar gold coins for it.

After depositing a guarantee of 15,000 Caesar gold coins, Felix decided to return to the magic tower, ready to wait for the adventurers' guild to prepare new experimental materials for him.

Considering that 1,500 Caesar gold coins equaled the price of a beautiful virgin slave, Felix believed this high price would attract many adventurer teams and slave traders.

In the capital, the streets were already flooded with un-drainable water, with disgusting debris overflowing from the ditches on both sides. Nearly half of the shops on the streets were taking in water, and many had ceased business!

Felix looked up at the sky, feeling a sense of gloom in his heart.

If even the capital was in this state, what about the low-lying areas near the Titanian River? They must be completely submerged by now.

A troop of knights in silver-white armor sped past him, splashing muddy water high into the air. However, as the dirty water neared Felix, about a step away from him, it seemed to hit an invisible barrier and gently slid down.

The scent of blood!

Felix looked up sharply and noticed that several knights in the middle of the troop were dripping blood. On closer inspection, he saw that their horses carried several corpses, dressed like magicians.

Wait!

Dead magicians?

Felix watched the direction where the silver-armored knights had headed, which should be towards Princess Helen's mansion, her previous residence.

"Could it be that those magicians were the ones secretly summoning water elements to exacerbate the flood?" Felix frowned, attempting to sense the knights' power with his immense mental energy. But before he could act, the leading knight seemed to sense him and looked in Felix's direction!

Startled, Felix immediately withdrew his probing mental energy and turned to walk in the opposite direction.

"Such sharp intuition!"

Although Felix couldn't confirm it yet, he estimated that these knights had a six-in-ten chance of being the legendary Shadow Knights, loyal guardians of Jupiter.

The Silver Hand Knight Order!

"Is the Titans royal family finally making a move? What does the mysterious Princess Helen plan to do to end this storm?" Felix's mind was flooded with thoughts, and at this moment, he had no intention of returning to Felendia.

"It seems like the heavens have really presented Princess Helen with a tough challenge!"

When Felix returned to the capital, he had seen three soaring griffin knights. If he wasn't wrong, the situation at the empire's borders must have changed due to Emperor Jupiter's retirement. The big decision to delegate power to the council, the Saturn Empire's spies couldn't have missed it.

"Internal troubles and external threats are coming together." Felix shook his head and turned to walk towards Saint Erde Cathedral. He now planned to visit the mother and daughter he had just bought.

Since The Silver Hand Knight Order had been deployed, Felix believed it wouldn't be long before the torrential rain stopped.

Even if Princess Helen's power was limited, she could still gather the court magicians to disperse the clouds. What Felix was interested in now was how Princess Helen planned to settle the homeless victims of the disaster.

Due to the flood, the central region of the capital had lost its second autumn harvest. As the grain storehouse of the Titans Empire, such a severe natural disaster in the capital's central region would surely lead to a significant increase in food prices throughout the empire, lasting from now until the harvest of the first season's crops, a total of over six months!

Could the Titans Empire's food reserves last that long?

Felix was skeptical.

If it couldn't last that long, it meant the Titans royal family would have to extract resources from the local nobles, undoubtedly exacerbating the already tense situation between the royal family and the nobility.

Felix believed that many, including Lady Elizabeth, would be pleased to see this outcome.
