Chapter 19: Homecoming

Chapter 19: Homecoming

The next day, a middle-aged nun brought Felix some news that slightly surprised him. The Brotherhood had apparently ceased all assassination attempts against him. This information, coming from the Notre Dame Cathedral council, was highly credible.

The significance of the pure silver cross left behind further confirmed the accuracy of this news. The silver cross symbolized the Brotherhood's acknowledgment of Felix as an entity conforming to the rules set by My Lord.

The cause of this development was astonishingly due to Felix's name disappearing from the Shroud of Turin.

This was a piece of news that baffled Felix for quite some time, but it was nevertheless good news. He didn't know if his name had ever been on the Shroud of Turin, nor why and how it had disappeared.

However, he was relieved to have one less enemy and no longer needed to worry about sudden attacks from assassins.

During this time, by channeling magical power to strike the elemental barrier of the crystal, Felix's magical foundation had made significant progress. He even hoped he would never be able to break through the elemental barrier in the crystal of his palm.

With its power-absorbing nature, a day of Felix's training was almost equivalent to a week of intense, deep meditation for sixteen magical hours in the past!

However, this was just a pleasant thought. After a week of continuous magical strikes, the elemental barrier of the deep gray crystal in his palm began to loosen.

According to the current intensity, in a maximum of three months, Felix could create a small breach in the crystal's barrier, gaining insight into its elemental mysteries.

The three ogre battle servants were completed. This time, Felix pushed his limits, as he had crafted all three ogre battle pieces alone during sixteen magical hours of transformation experiments.

After inscribing the magic runes, Felix directly shattered their consciousness with a mental attack and then signed a servitude pact with them.

His immense mental strength was his greatest asset, and controlling three ogre battle servants simultaneously didn’t burden his consciousness. He even felt he could control at least six more!

With the increased number of ogres, Felendia suddenly faced a shortage of food. Feeding five ogres that required large amounts of meat daily was a significant hassle for Felix. He had to repeatedly order food from the market to Felendia.

The weapons for the ogre battle servants were almost complete, but the armor was still pending. Due to the scarcity of Caesar coins, Felix had to give up the beautiful idea of crafting totem poles.

The weapon he prepared for the ogre battle servants was an oversized mace, a heavy weapon only used by barbarians.

The semi-undead ogre specimen was recovering well. Its size had increased significantly, and its muscles no longer looked bloated but rather explosively powerful.

During this recovery period, the semi-undead ogre’s skin began to show clear signs of keratinization. The keratinized areas had a drastic increase in physical defense.

Even a dagger could only cut through the top layer of the skin. Felix was still unsure how long this keratinization would last or at what point it would stop. However, he had decided to proceed with mutation-type elemental stimulation the day after tomorrow.

He planned to inject the semi-undead ogre specimen with the dirty blood from a high demon, aiming to transform it into a new dark species, somewhere between undead and demon!

The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

Sunlight, morning dew.

Knowing the Brotherhood had stopped targeting him, Felix was in a rare good mood. After handing over some simple follow-up tests to the succubus sister and the two undead attendants, whose intelligence was noticeably improving, Felix left Felendia to check on the latest progress of the Dark Judgment Division at Saint Erde Cathedral.

After all, he was the Black Robed Governor of the Dark Judgment Division, in name at least.

The situation in the imperial capital was brewing a storm. Princess Helen was reportedly at odds with many members of the council. The noble council intended to unite several major families of the capital to completely sideline Princess Helen’s power.

In contrast, Helen blatantly ignored the council, acting on royal commands without their approval. The overt and covert struggle between the two parties had been ongoing since Emperor Jupiter's demise.

The Dark Judgment Division's official excuse was expanding the church, but that was just a facade. The expansion of Saint Erde Cathedral had been personally approved by Princess Helen. Inevitably, it became a corner that attracted the attention of others in the imperial capital.

After nearly a month of reconstruction, the scale of Saint Erde Cathedral had significantly increased.

With the full support of the Notre Dame Cathedral Council, the middle-aged nun secured many additional resources, propelling the construction of Saint Erde Cathedral into rapid progress. In reality, the visible changes to Saint Erde Cathedral were minimal, merely the addition of a Gospel Tower and a few rooms for the nuns to rest.

The true progress of Saint Erde Cathedral's reconstruction was concentrated underground. The large-scale, reconfigured complex magical arrays were the key to everything.

With the Notre Dame Cathedral Council's backing, the personnel and resources of Saint Erde Cathedral saw a tremendous increase.

Felix even spotted a high-ranking priest who had entered the Golden Domain, inscribing magical arrays beneath the foundation of the cathedral. It seemed he no longer needed to personally handle the complex magical arrays, as Notre Dame Cathedral had even sent a high-ranking priest capable of engraving sacred marks.

The middle-aged nun was busy, and Felix couldn't understand why a devout nun would be so obsessed with power. He was even more perplexed as to why he always encountered women who were fond of control and power.

After handing over the advanced Holy Light techniques from the "Bible - Old Testament" to Mrs. Ireland's twelve nuns, Felix left Saint Erde Cathedral.

The strength of these pure nuns was improving rapidly. They were all talented and beautiful young girls. Vampires preferred smart and beautiful prey, just like these girls, just like Felix.

Half of the twelve pure nuns were almost in the Silver Domain, thanks to the knowledge from the Old Testament.

They started at a higher level than other nuns. With a mentor like Felix, willing to share precious texts, a qualitative leap was inevitable for them. Perhaps because of Mrs. Ireland, these pure nuns, nominally under the Dark Judgment Division, were deliberately excluded from certain activities by the middle-aged nun. Felix saw this as an opportunity for them to enhance their strength.

As Felix was leaving Saint Erde Cathedral, a familiar figure appeared before him.

Seeing this somewhat aloof figure, Felix was stunned for a long moment, then a gentle smile appeared on his soft and handsome face. He gently took her hand, whispering, "You're back."

"Yes." Light Ranger — Aurelia nodded, letting Felix lead her by the hand. It had been a month since they last saw each other, and she seemed colder and slightly thinner, indicating that her journey deep into the Maya Mountains had not been easy.

When they arrived at the private residence Felix had purchased, some unexpected minor issues arose.

Apparently, Felix, who hadn't done anything wrong lately, had completely eliminated the suspicions of the mother and daughter, who even came out enthusiastically to greet him upon learning of his return. They had been utterly hopeless about their future, never expecting a twist of fate to meet a "kind master."

It wouldn't have mattered much, but it became a bit different with Light Ranger there.

The legendary woman glanced at the apprehensive mother and daughter, then turned to Felix with a slightly sour tone, "Who are they?"

Jealous, Light Ranger? Felix thought with inward amusement.

Felix tightened his grip on Aurelia's delicate hand, glanced at the mother and daughter with slight discomfort on their faces, and said indifferently, "Vases."

"Hmm." The legendary Light Ranger finally smiled, nodding in satisfaction. She then tightly grasped Felix's hand and walked towards the hall. Before entering, Felix subtly shared an apologetic smile with the mother and daughter he had bought, quickly receiving a smile of understanding from Beatrice Tinia.

Clearly, the mother and daughter now regarded Light Ranger Aurelia as Felix's official wife, the legendary mistress of the house.
