Chapter 29: The Final Battle (Part 2)

Activating runes, the ogre battle servants enhanced with the Bloodthirsty were like flesh-grinding machines. Their simple yet direct attacks, powered by immense strength, created a thunderous sound that almost hurt the ears.

In this moment, the horses became a burden for the Silver Knights. Perched atop, they lost any chance to dodge. The ogres, towering over three and a half meters tall, closed distances in strides that left the knights with no hope of escape – their horses were no match for the ogres' speed.

Facing the ogres' massive clubs, several Silver Knights tried to shield themselves with their steel round shields. Unfortunately, it was in vain. Some knights were even pierced through the heart by fragments of their shattered shields.

In just a few seconds, an elite cavalry unit of the Titans Empire was decimated by Felix's ogre army. The fully demonized ogre battle servant alone crushed the strongest two Silver Knights with its bare hands.

Felix, using his mental powers, began to forcibly control the consciousness of the ogres, driven mad by the scent of blood as they devoured the corpses of the Silver Knights. The most voracious of them all was the fully demonized ogre battle servant.

Under Felix's powerful mental control, the ogre army finally abandoned their craving for flesh and roared, striding towards the palace.

Levitation!

Empowered by the dark magic of the Shadow Queen Christie, Felix no longer needed to meticulously calculate his magical energy. He cast Levitation on himself and followed the frenzied ogre army towards the palace.

The ogre army slaughtered all the Silver Knights in their path like a thunderbolt. The tumult soon caught the attention of others. In moments, knights loyal to Lady Elizabeth or her allies gathered around Felix, and together with the terrifying onslaught of the ogre army, they rushed towards the palace.

Their target, set by Princess Helen, was not only Lady Elizabeth but also two other Grand Dukes who were councilors.

With the ground knights' assistance, Felix’s advance greatly accelerated. The griffin knights had already established complete dominance over the Shadow Mage Corps. Without the aerial support of the mages, the Silver Knight Order’s defensive line crumbled under the ogres' tremendous physical force, like paper.

Three-meter-high barricades, insurmountable obstacles for even the most skilled knights, were mere child's play for the leading fully demonized ogre battle servant – a single blow was all it took. The iron wall formed by Tower Shield warriors, a meat grinder on the battlefield, unbreakable except by overwhelming numbers, now faced the ogre army.

The ogres' terrifying physical attacks shattered this feared battlefield combination. With each swing of their massive clubs, several Tower Shield warriors were sent flying, crashing heavily onto the bloodstained marble floor.

Under the ogres' ferocious assault, sturdy Tower Shields developed chilling dents, some even splitting in half. After less than three minutes, the morale of the Tower Shield warriors collapsed. They fled in despair, away from the fearsome ogres, as some ogres, now uncontrollable, began to gnaw on the corpses of the Tower Shield warriors.

Chaos ensued as the fully demonized ogre battle servant, frenzied by the smell of blood, could no longer distinguish friend from foe. After the Tower Shield warriors dispersed, it grabbed an allied knight nearby and, amid pitiful screams, stuffed the knight into its mouth.

The scene turned eerily silent in an instant.

The knights, initially close by, hoping to use the ogre battle servants to distract the enemy, now retreated swiftly, as if they had seen a ghost.

Under Felix's mental command, the fully demonized ogre battle servant reluctantly dropped the mangled body of the allied knight. Under the demonized ogre’s brutal maw, the poor knight was reduced to just two bloodied, unrecognizable legs.

The palace, the square.

It had become a slaughterhouse, a mountain of corpses, where knights faced death unflinchingly, supported by their faith.

Flight!

Felix’s slender figure rose into the air. He saw knight orders rushing for support from three different roads. He recognized two of them: the Blood Rose Knights and an all-female knight order loyal to Lady Elizabeth, the iron-blooded cavalry who had followed her from the battlefield of Saturn.

And the other was the Royal Knights, clad in golden armor!

"Weren’t they guarding the borders?" Felix's heart sank when he saw the figures in golden heavy armor. A bad premonition flashed through his mind.

As if to confirm Felix's foreboding, a mournful cry of a griffin knight echoed in the sky.

"Dragonhawk knights!"

A bitter smile crossed Felix’s face. He landed back on the ground, muttering, "Madwoman! She’s a madwoman."

When sealing the God of Pestilence in Deathbell Town, Felix had seen the dragonhawk knights arriving for support and had been dubious.

Unlike the griffin knights, who were fast and also served to deliver important military intelligence, keeping half their number in the capital, the dragonhawk knights were a different story. They were the deterrent force guarding the borders against the Saturn Empire.

The appearance of the dragonhawk knights meant only one thing.

Before the Deathbell Town incident, she had already recalled the dragonhawk knights from guarding the borders!

This madwoman, to deal with Lady Elizabeth, had even forsaken the Titans Empire's borders, disregarding the potential downfall of the entire empire!

The ogre army continued to push forward. The elemental fluctuations from inside the palace grew stronger. Both friends and foes were desperately fighting for time. Once the battle inside the palace concluded, everything else would lose its meaning.

Watching the dragonhawk knights closing in, a strange realization dawned in Felix’s heart. He looked towards the distant sky, his pale hands tightly gripping Mammon’s Redemption.

If that madwoman had already recalled the dragonhawk knights, what about the others?

Lady Elizabeth had lost, just as he had foreseen.

"I will not let you die before me! That was Master Gamma’s oath, and now, it is time to fulfill it."
