Chapter 28: The Calling of Holy Light

Chapter 28: The Calling of Holy Light

In this world, after My Lord triumphed over the Primordial Giants, a new set of rules was established.

Initially, the cycle of good and evil was manipulated by the Primordial Giants. They arranged the reincarnation of all things in the world according to the spatial order formed at the dawn of heaven and earth, following the ancient covenant of the gods. However, this cycle was imperfect, swayed by the will of the giants.

With My Lord ending the rule of the Primordial Giants and spreading holy light across the world, a new reincarnation system emerged.

God brought two primeval instruments - these two divine artifacts transformed into two doors, known as Heaven's Door and the Gates of Hell!

Heaven's Door and the Gates of Hell began to arrange the reincarnation between connected planes. They would determine whether the deceased should go to heaven or hell, enter into reincarnation, or wander between planes based on their deeds in life.

"Heaven is a refuge for lambs. As a strong being, our place is in hell!"

This saying has been circulating for a long time in the material plane, with no one remembering who said it first. However, many professionals believe that hell is their true destination.

"Because hell has succubi, and heaven does not," the wicked would say.

Perhaps only those devout followers longing for holy light aspire to reach heaven. For professionals, especially Gamma Masters, their destination should be hell.

There are not many records about Heaven's Door, as it is a realm only gods can comprehend. It represents order, laws, and power!

The 'Bible - Old Testament' records that when the most devout ascetics or lifelong benevolent believers return to heaven, holy music resounds in the sky. At that time, angels may even descend to escort them personally. For the most devout, a Heaven's Door will even open in the sky!

This is a story recorded in the 'Bible,' but Felix had always considered it a fabricated tale boasted by the church. Over a hundred years, several popes have passed away, but no angel was seen descending to escort their souls to heaven.

But what Felix never expected was that today, under such circumstances, he would witness this legend!

The male angel, flapping his pure white wings, gently landed beside Holiness Euripides. He tenderly closed Euripides' open eyes with a touch.

Then, in a solemn voice, he said, "You are a devout believer, who fought for the glory of the lord all your life! Death is not the end; it is merely a new beginning. I will guide you to heaven, the resting place of souls."

The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

The two holy priests knelt on the ground devoutly, praying fervently. The griffin knights and others also knelt, humbly bowing their heads to this noble presence from heaven.

In the entire valley, only two stood: Felix and Princess Helen.

The male angel smiled, and when his gaze fell on Princess Helen, a look of surprise appeared on his face. However, when his eyes landed on Felix, his expression turned to one of shock!

This shock quickly faded, for in front of him appeared the soul of Holiness Euripides. He reached out, took hold of Euripides' slightly blurred soul, and guided him towards Heaven's Door in the sky, slowly ascending.

Holiness Euripides' soul seemed still in a daze until the male angel led him into the air, where he finally fully opened his eyes. First, he looked at Princess Helen with a complex gaze, then fixed his eyes on Felix.

Felix understood why Holiness Euripides would gaze at Princess Helen – if not for the deep blue Barrier she used, cutting off external elemental forces, Holiness Euripides might have held on with his powerful holy light energy long enough to use a minor resurrection spell. But now, because of the Barrier initiated by Princess Helen, he lost the supporting holy light energy and died.

What puzzled Felix was why both the male angel and Holiness Euripides instinctively fixed their gazes on him. Did he possess something that piqued their interest?

Guided by the male angel, Holiness Euripides' soul slowly stepped into Heaven’s Door. As tranquil holy music played, the Door gently closed, and the cold moonlight showered down, casting an eerie silence around.

Seizing the moment when no one was paying attention to him, Felix donned his black cloak and blended into the dark night, walking towards the distance.

Princess Helen seemed to notice Felix's departure. She watched the direction in which he left, a playful smile appearing on her beautiful face. Then, she beckoned the Silver Hand standing by her side, pointing in the direction Felix had gone and whispering a few words.

When Felix arrived at Deathbell Town, he saw the middle-aged nun still waiting there. Looking at her cold face, which showed no kindness to him, yet still steadfastly waiting to leave together, Felix’s face broke into a gentle smile as he took the reins of the horse.

Whether they were allies or foes, they both came from the Dark Judgment Division. To some extent, they shared common interests, suggesting a possible collaboration between them.

It was already late, and Felix checked his pocket watch – it was nine o'clock in the magical time. The night air carried a rotten smell, and there seemed to be no survivors among the mortals living here. It looked like this place would be deserted for a long while.

"Let's go." With a flick of the whip, the group of four set off back the way they had come. Staying here overnight was clearly impossible. About a hundred miles ahead, there was a large town where Felix and his companions decided to spend the night.

As he rode, Felix felt a pang of hunger, but when he reached into the Blue Crystal for food, he hesitated – it contained a pile of dragon bones. Even if he took out the food, he doubted he would have the appetite to eat it.

The cries of griffins echoed in the sky. Although griffins lacked night vision, they could still fly high under the knights' guidance to find a town. Four court mages in flight constantly cast illumination spells on themselves, emitting bright light like four large bulbs in the night sky, guiding the dragonhawk riders and griffin knights.

"I'll definitely be cooler than you guys one day," Felix muttered, watching the griffin knights whizz past overhead. He spat viciously and then continued.

Thinking of the bone dragon corpse in the Blue Crystal, a fiery excitement ignited in Felix's heart.
