Chapter 42: Heaven’s Door
The closer they got to St Pilds, the denser the holy light in the air became. To Felix’s amazement, this purifying light energy didn’t repel him but was instead drawn to him, slowly attaching to his body and even causing his arms to shimmer with crystalline white light. This was the tangible Holy Light, penetrating his skin and seeping into his body.
The Frost Power that had already spread across his body and seeped into his blood began to retreat. The healing Holy Light, emanating from his arms, slowly diffused into Felix’s body. As the power of the Holy Light concentrated, a warm sensation spread from his arms throughout his body. The chill receded, and he felt a normal human warmth surge within him.
"You are an interesting little fellow," Marilyn commented, surprised that Felix could absorb the power of the Holy Light. Her astonishment didn’t last long and soon faded away.
She observed the changes in Felix with a peculiar gaze. If Marilyn remembered correctly, Saint Elouan, also known as the Hell Judge, was originally a follower of My Lord from the darkness.
Such unique beings had immense power and were blessed by the Holy Light, often referred to as God’s watchmen.
As St Pilds gradually came into view, the energy fluctuations around them intensified.
However, these fluctuations didn’t originate from St Pilds Cathedral but came from all directions. On a not-too-high mountain peak, Felix even saw a space door open in the air not far ahead. A mysterious magician, holding a strange staff, wearing a tall robe, and a wide-brimmed hat obscuring his face, stepped out from it.
The mysterious magician glanced at Felix and Marilyn, then, with a slight smile, cast a Wind Wing spell and flew straight toward St Pilds Cathedral.
St Pilds was protected by a spatial barrier, remnants of chaotic energy from the Second Abyssal Invasion, preventing any spatial magic from being used there.
The sudden appearance of powerful Holy Light seemed to have caught the attention of powerful beings across the continent. On their way, Felix saw no fewer than twenty beings as strong as himself, including an ice mage from the far north. These mages from the frigid northwest possessed Frost Power not inferior to Felix’s, the only difference being their power didn’t originate from the corruption of the undead.
"So many people have come," Marilyn frowned slightly, watching the powerful presences appear around them. At such a sensitive time, attracting so many people was concerning.
Whether a new Saint Elouan was born or not, everything here had likely caught the attention of beings from the Abyss and Hell.
This was not a good sign.
Once a war broke out, whether she liked it or not, she’d be dragged into the planar battlefield because if the planar war erupted, the laws of the realm would completely seal Delrano's passages to the outer world.
Delrano would become an inescapable arena, a battleground until a victor emerged in the planar war. Even deities would hardly have a chance to escape this fighting cage.

"Things seem to be getting serious," Felix patted Marilyn’s arm, which was wrapped around him, and pointed ahead.
Near St Pilds, a group of ascetics in worn clerical robes hovered in mid-air, blocking all powerful beings attempting to reach St Pilds.
The two groups stood off against each other, creating a tense atmosphere. Even from a distance, Marilyn's palms sweat slightly. Unlike Felix, she was more sensitive to external perceptions. Besides the forty-six beings in the golden domain that had appeared, there were at least ten top-tier beings hidden nearby.
Among them, at least three were dragons that had lived for over six thousand years, stepping into the epic domain.
"So many dragons have come," Marilyn thought with a hint of unease. Dragons usually kept to themselves and rarely interfered in worldly matters. The fact that so many powerful dragons had awakened and rushed here meant only one thing.
This place had become involved in the planar war.
As the stand-off intensified, a burst of Holy Light erupted from St Pilds Cathedral. It illuminated the sky with a dazzling white light, and waves of moving holy chants spread out from the cathedral.
The light grew stronger, and amidst the deep tolling of bells, endless Holy Light began to converge. Then, to everyone's astonishment, a door made of Holy Light slowly opened.
Everyone was stunned, murmuring uncontrollably:
"Heaven’s Door."
Almost simultaneously, anomalies began to appear in all the planes touched by My Lord's presence. Sacred sites in each plane started showing phenomena, though none as intense as in Delrano's world or the prime material plane.
The ascetics blocking their way had no choice but to stop their blockade. After a brief discussion, they urgently flew towards St Pilds Cathedral.
With their departure, the powerful onlookers who had come to watch the spectacle hurriedly followed.
With Heaven’s Door open, at the very least, this was the making of a deity.
Such an event, having come this far, was something they could not miss.
"We need to get there fast," Felix urged, feeling the call in his heart growing stronger. He turned to Marilyn, who was holding him. "It's about to start. Hurry."
"Okay." Marilyn seemed to understand the urgency. She conjured an elemental barrier around them and propelled her elemental wings at a speed close to the sound barrier towards St Pilds Cathedral.
When they arrived, everything had already begun.
As Heaven’s Door slowly opened, a seemingly insignificant sculpture at the corner of St Pilds Cathedral emitted a blinding light, overshadowing the perpetually faith-imbued cross atop the central church. For a moment, it seemed as if it was the only light in the world.
It was a peculiar sculpture, different from the other angels. This one had a pair of demonic wings, a fierce countenance, and even two demonic horns on its forehead.
The sight took everyone's breath away, eliciting gasps of astonishment.
"Saint Elouan!"
"Has God’s watchman appeared again?"
This was the first Saint Elouan to be born in this crystal wall in over three hundred years, the first in Delrano's world to manifest a divine sign.
Time seemed to stand still.
The surrounding voices faded away from Felix, even Marilyn behind him seemed frozen in that moment.
From the fearsome Saint Elouan sculpture, a woman with demonic wings yet radiating with Holy Light emerged. She walked towards Felix, looking at him with an incredibly gentle gaze, softly saying, "My Felix, I have finally found you."
"Lady Ireland!" Felix, overwhelmed by resurfacing memories, called out her name.
The woman with demonic wings embraced Felix, gently pressing her forehead against his, softly saying, "My Felix. Time is short. My Lord is calling me to Heaven."
"My Felix, would you be my knight, my most loyal guardian?" Lady Ireland gently kissed Felix’s forehead.
"I will," Felix agreed without hesitation.
Lady Ireland smiled slightly, tenderly caressing Felix's pale face. Her expression turned serious as she spread her demonic wings, enveloping Felix, and declared solemnly, "In my name, before the highest planar laws as my witness, I vow, Felix Saint Elouan will be my knight from this day, my most loyal guardian. He will have all my rights and powers, share in my glory and divine grace, and will walk with me towards destruction and the end."
Lady Ireland lowered her head, softly kissing Felix’s lips, whispering, "My Felix, I will bless you from Heaven."
