Truly, life is like a dream.
Felix finally returned to Felendia. Mrs. Elizabeth wouldn't abandon her plans for him, and he couldn't forsake his principles for her. Both inherently competitive, one of them had to learn to yield.
On the sixth floor of Felendia, in the workshop, Felix picked up a quill and wrote in elegant script on a blank parchment scroll.
"Princess Helen, the eldest daughter of the Titans royal family, the only surviving sister of Emperor Jupiter, 'Daughter of the Great Sea', a legendary figure, supporter of The Silver Hand, her previous life was a traveler named Lisa."
"Travelers, reincarnated in this world, seem to be assimilated by the natives, and the power of the laws imprinted in their souls fades away. Travelers are rare; over thousands of years, this transplanted plane probably hasn't seen more than ten. Those who arrive in this primary material plane are among the first three, and the world's mighty often refer to the deceased travelers as 'The Forgotten'."
Rubbing his forehead, Felix dipped the quill in ink and continued: "Mrs. Elizabeth of the Venus family, first in line to inherit, 'Goddess's Beloved', owns a vast merchant fleet in the City of Freedom, commands her own loyal knight order, the chief financial advisor of the imperial capital, and supporter of the military hawks."
Felix paused, drew a line under Mrs. Elizabeth’s name, then with an arrow pointed to another corner of the parchment and continued:
"Catherine, a knight from hell, strength beyond legend, suppressed by Mrs. Ireland, yet easily defeated Light Ranger Aurelia, between legend and 'Epic'. Preliminary estimates suggest she might be a fallen angel or perhaps a hybrid."
After writing this, Felix added a note next to Catherine’s name – faith unknown.
After a moment of contemplation, Felix drew another line under Princess Helen's name and added a note – once nonchalantly threatened to banish a high-ranking angel.
"The Queen of Titans!"
After writing these five words, Felix drew arrows from the two women's names pointing to the Queen of Titans.
After another moment of thought, Felix wrote under Princess Helen's name: "Backed by Emperor Jupiter, the legitimate heir of the Titans royal family."
Having written this, Felix added under Mrs. Elizabeth's name: "Possesses the friendship of Fairmuth, an ally for all ambitious contenders for the Titans throne."
Feeling no need to continue, Felix wrote: "Cleansing spell."
With a sigh, Felix crossed out Mrs. Elizabeth's name. Unless she had a game-changing trump card, Princess Helen had more than a 90% chance of being the victor!
Jupiter's enemies were strong but chaotic and mutually hostile. Princess Helen, known as 'Daughter of the Great Sea', surely knew how to defeat them one by one.
Felix drew a wavy line under Fairmuth's name. According to his reasoning, Fairmuth was the greatest variable! He knew his nominal father too well – a true ambitious man. His desires were not satisfied with Oaklandia; he coveted Titans, the crown of Titans!
This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience.
"Never trust Fairmuth, for they are all serpents." – This was the Ellisitan City nobles' assessment of the Fairmuth family.
A family whose bloodline concealed filth and squalor, cunning, and cruelty!
Once the most profit-driven and ruthless merchants! Now the most cunning and unscrupulous politicians!
"Fairmuth, my nurturer, my enemy." Felix stood up, looking out of the window at the imperial city of Felendia.
His gaze was profound and dark, unbound by emotions. A wise man, a spellcaster who discerned worldly affairs, viewing everything from an absolutely detached perspective, he could even become a sagacious prophet!
"In the past, I was Mrs. Elizabeth’s little kitten, and she would not hesitate to raise her spear against anyone trying to harm me! This is the protection of a master!"
Felix threw the parchment into a basin of fire. Watching the azure flames crackle, he gazed out at the tranquil imperial city under the night sky, and said solemnly:
"In the future, Mrs. Elizabeth will be my little kitten. Anyone trying to harm her is my enemy! This too is the protection of a master..."
Felix stood silently for a long time, then took out an enamelled crystal bottle filled with scarlet liquid from the Blue Crystal. The dark red blood, teeming with surging elemental magic, flowed like a living thing, shimmering with divine light. This was blood from the sin of envy - the blood of the progenitor Cain!
Picking up the quill again, Felix dipped it in diluted dragon's blood and wrote in his personal magic notebook:
"The ‘Bible - Old Testament’ records only two vampires of the progenitor level: the first is Cain, the outcast of the gods' twilight era, and the second is Judas, 'Apostle of God', betrayer of Iyeta, a fallen one tempted by darkness."
"Cain was executed three hundred years ago by the previous Saint Elouan. This is his blood."
"Judas died from divine punishment, his body consumed by fire until the last drop of blood was burnt."
After writing this, Felix dotted several periods on the magic notebook, contemplated for a moment, and continued: "The second generation of vampires was born in the twilight era of the gods, the shortest-lived among the vampires."
"Cain was seduced by Satan's lover, a succubus named Lilia, who taught him how to find strength in blood. He nurtured three offspring: Enoch, Zillah, and Irad."
"Methuselah was the first city ruled by vampires, where now sleeps the only surviving third-generation vampire from the era of gods, an Antediluvian who has lived for over 6,780 years, also known as 'The Ancient'!"
Felix paused here, flipping through the ‘Bible - Old Testament’. After a moment's thought, he decided to record some mythologized stories:
"There are three recorded acts of divine punishment. The first is 'The Great Flood', where my Lord sent a great deluge to drown all cities engulfed in sin." Felix wrote this and drew a line under 'The Great Flood', adding a note: "The flood couldn’t destroy vampires; the legend obviously conceals something."
"Two of the second-generation vampires died in 'The Great Flood', while the remaining one was killed by a third-generation vampire, a founder of the thirteen clans."
"The third-generation vampires established the Dark Council, officially elevating the vampire long-livers into the middle ranks of dark species!"
"Few third-generation vampires survive, most of them succumbing to eternal slumber out of weariness from their prolonged lives. The fourth and fifth-generation vampires are the current holders of vampire long-livers, often styling themselves as 'Princes', possibly with such old immortals still in Jerusalem."
Felix clenched the enamelled crystal bottle, feeling the dark power surging within, the bloodthirsty element, the divine force, the blood of the progenitor!
"Cain's blood can turn humanoid life into vampire long-livers between the third and fourth generations. The fusion effect is stronger in humans, followed by elves."
After pondering for a moment, Felix added a note: "This is just speculation and may not be valid."
"The power of the bloodline is strong, but its negative effects are severe. Learn to control your desires, and you'll feel your power growing."
"Power comes from the sediment of time, as it is for the vampire long-livers!"
After writing these words, Felix hesitated but eventually wrote down Lady Ireland's words:
"Drink it when you are most desperate, 'Profanation' is the source of your power! — Ireland-Saint Elouan!"
Felix tore off the densely written page from the magic notebook and tucked it into the first page of 'Profanation', along with 'Cain's Blood'.
A premonition told him that someone might soon need it. But that person wasn’t him…
