Chapter 952 Reclusive Elder

CHAPTER 952 RECLUSIVE ELDER

"In the beginning, the spiritual race's guardian beasts were obtained by capturing supernatural beasts

and breeding them. Unfortunately, compared with the guardian beasts that were obtained through

artificial reproduction, wild supernatural beasts have stronger abilities, but they are difficult to tame, just

as it is hard for human spirit manipulators to tame spiritual beasts. If we are not strong enough, it is

impossible to capture a supernatural beast alive, let alone tame it. However, once we capture a

supernatural beast alive, we will be able to tame it, and it will become our own guardian beast," Alyssa

explained.

"I see..." Rocky nodded as he recalled the magical beasts that he had seen in the forest, back in the

Black Sand Abyss, which emitted an aura that was comparable to that of a guardian beast. They must

have been wild supernatural beasts.

"By the way, you mentioned spiritual slaves, ordinary spiritual beings, and spiritual masters earlier.

What are they?" Rocky asked again.

"In the spiritual race's clans, the clansmen are divided into different levels, just as the ruling class

divides humans into different levels. Spiritual slaves are like ordinary people, and they are responsible

for the daily life of the clansmen. Meanwhile, ordinary spiritual beings work specifically for the spiritual

masters, and they control the spiritual slaves for the spiritual masters. Lastly, spiritual masters rule the

entire clan and protect their clansmen from being invaded by other clans of the spiritual race. As such,

only spiritual masters could be considered the real clansmen in the spiritual race's clans, as they are

powerful creatures standing at the top of the food chain. However, there are very few spiritual masters

in each clan of the spiritual race, and that is why they are considered the most important parts of each

clan in the spiritual race. In terms of their strength and function, spiritual slaves, ordinary spiritual

beings, and spiritual masters are also divided into nine levels respectively. The level-one spiritual

slaves are the weakest, while the level-nine spiritual masters are the strongest and real clansmen of

the spiritual race," Alyssa continued to explain, as Rocky listened with his full attention.

"You are saying that the term 'spiritual race' that we, humans, use to call them has a very vague

meaning. Does that mean that the real clansmen in the spiritual race's clans are only a small part of

them?" Rocky asked just to confirm, as he began to realize that what he knew about the spiritual race

was very different from reality. However, this was normal because if the spiritual race wanted to rule the

human race, they had to exaggerate their strength. Although the spiritual race itself was indeed very

powerful, the number of the real clansmen of the spiritual race was very small. The spiritual race had to

confuse people and let the human race believe that there was no strong clansmen of the spiritual race

and weak clansmen of the spiritual race. In that way, they could prevent the human race from betraying

them. Humans thought that as long as one was a clansman of the spiritual race, he was invincible, but

the truth was that human spirit manipulators above the Supernal Stage could defeat low-level spiritual

slaves.

"Yes."

"Then the two clansmen of the Heavenly Demon Clan we met last time are ordinary spiritual beings,

right?" Rocky asked.

"Yes, but their level is lower than mine. If their level was higher than mine, I'm afraid we wouldn't have

been so lucky last time. The Heavenly Demon Clan underestimated my strength. They sent two inferior

ordinary spiritual beings to kill me. Humph!" Alyssa said with disdain.

"Is that so? If it weren't for me, you would have been caught by them," Rocky cut in with a teasing

smile. He could still remember that the two ordinary spiritual beings were almost as strong as Alyssa,

and he could not resist the opportunity to remind her of that, which would surely annoy her.

Just as he expected, Alyssa glared at him fiercely and turned to walk away from him, effectively ending

their conversation. holds © this.

Once they passed through what seemed to be the pasture, he spotted a magnificent group of tree

houses a good distance away from them. Although they were tree houses, the height and area of each

building did not seem inferior to that of human beings' buildings. Moreover, they were all built on trees

that were at least ten meters high, which added to their magnificence and beauty, as it made them look

like natural works of art.

From the distance, Rocky could see that the clansmen of the Wood Clan were flying lightly up and

down like tree spirits, shuttling between different tree houses.

However, as soon as they spotted Alyssa and Rocky walking towards them, they stopped whatever

they were doing and landed in the branches up above. They stared at Alyssa and Rocky, making

strange sounds from time to time as if they were talking about something.

"What are they talking about?" Rocky asked curiously.

"Most of the clansmen think that humans are very weak, just like ants that can be killed by the littlest

finger. What do you think they will say when they see you? They don't like you. Either, they want to

chop you up and feed their guardian beasts, or they want to cut you into pieces and study you," Alyssa

replied seriously.

Rocky's hair stood on end when he heard what Alyssa said, but he soon realized that she was trying to

hide a wicked smile. He immediately knew that Alyssa was just teasing him, so he regained his calm

and chuckled to himself.

"They are talking about why I brought a human here. The spiritual race generally doesn't allow humans

to enter their domains," Alyssa continued when she saw that Rocky was not frightened.

"Then why did you bring me here?" Rocky asked. Just like their captivated audience, he, too, was

confused.

"You would not be here if I did not have permission from the elder." Alyssa rolled her eyes at him as if

she thought that he was acting stupid.

After the two of them passed through the tree houses, a moon-shaped lake appeared in front of them.

A very ancient arched flowering tree half hung from one end of the lake to the center, and countless

branches fell on the surface, stirring the calm waters. The scenery was almost ethereal in its beauty.

At the end of the huge flowering tree, there was an ancient tree house hanging in the air. It was

fashioned uniquely so that the way to the tree house was the trunk of the huge tree.

As Alyssa walked ahead of him, they headed to the tree and jumped lightly along its huge branches

until they arrived at the old tree house at the end of the tree.

Two clansmen of the Wood Clan who looked like guards were standing outside the tree house.

"Tell the elder that Alyssa wants to see her," Alyssa said to the two clansmen in front of the tree house

in their language.

One of the clansmen walked in and returned a moment later. The other clansmen said something that

they failed to catch before he left, just as Alyssa was turning toward Rocky.

"Don't talk nonsense after we enter the room!" Alyssa reminded him before they walked inside.

The inside of the tree house was every inch as big as its outer appearance, and Rocky looked around

in surprise when he found that although it was quite big, it was sparsely decorated. In the innermost

part of the tree house, there was a cyan stone that continuously emitted strong spiritual energy, which

was surrounded by a white curtain. An indistinct figure that looked vaguely like a human sat cross-

legged on the cyan stone, and because of its skin tone, it easily blended to the cyan stone beneath. If

one didn't look carefully, he wouldn't notice the figure.

"How are you doing, grandma?" Alyssa walked forward and knelt respectfully in front of the curtain,

while Rocky lingered by the doorway, studying their interaction.

"Here you are! Is this young man the one who can remove your curse?" A hoarse but strong voice

came out from behind the curtain, speaking human language.

"Yes." Alyssa nodded.

"Is this grandma the reclusive elder you mentioned?" Rocky walked to her and asked casually.

"You can't call her grandma!" She immediately hissed and glared at Rocky's irreverence.

"It doesn't matter. Young man, can you come closer and put your hand in?" said the figure behind the

curtain with a soft, calming tone, which could relax anyone from a vigilant state at once.
