Chapter 729 Life And Death

CHAPTER 729 LIFE AND DEATH

The shock on Alston's face was as clear as day. He never expected Rocky to be able to fight back,

after using one of his most powerful attacks on him.

Alston felt his body quiver. Without warning, a beam of thunder radiance burst out of him. The spell was

broken and he returned to his normal state.

"Damn it!" Before he could make a move, Alston realized that he couldn't. His range of motion was

hindered due to the side effect of the Spirit Possession.

"Kill... Kill... Kill!" Rocky shouted thrice in a row. Raising the Frozen Wind Dagger above him, he

slashed at the open air with great speed and a strong whirlwind escaped the dagger's sharp edge.

Soon after, the Frozen Wind Dagger burst into flames and became a huge black torch that burned all

the plants within a one hundred meter radius of it.

Rocky then waved the dagger with all his strength. Like a huge black dragon spreading its wings, the

black flame spread dozens of meters across the sky before reaching the ground and encasing the

surrounding area. Alston now found himself trapped under this dome of black flame.

Alston had no time to dodge. He was immediately consumed by the raging black flame that came

crashing down from the sky.

"Your Royal Highness!" the injured black-robed spirit manipulator screamed. He rushed towards Alston

and summoned all of his spiritual power to try to resist the attack.

But the black flame's power was too much. Despite his determination, the spirit manipulator was no

match. Nothing of him remained, except for a pile of ashes.

"Damn it!" Alston cursed. Raising his right hand, he released the special power of the Thunder Dragon

Spear.

With help from the spear, a flickering barrier of thunder and lightning appeared in front of Alston.

Boom...

A gigantic mushroom-shaped cloud appeared and rose toward the sky. Looking down from above, the

area that had been covered in the black flame earlier had now sunk three feet deeper. All that was left

of the area was hot ash and suffocating smoke. The whole scene was morbidly spectacular.

From the rubble appeared a man draped in burned, tattered clothes and with an ashen face. His entire

right arm was completely damaged, and only charred flesh and exposed bone remained. However, his

right hand managed to still hold on to something important—the Thunder Dragon Spear.

"My hand... My hand!" Alston screamed with bloodshot eyes as he stared down at his right hand, or at

least what was left of it.

"Rocky, I'll kill you! Mark my words. You'll pay for this!" One would've mistaken him for a crazy person

based on his scream alone.

Out of nowhere, a dark figure moved amidst the smoke and slowly made his way towards Alston.

"He... can still... move... But...his body shouldn't have... been able to bear all that... power..." Alston's

face was plastered with fear upon seeing the dark figure inch closer towards him. It was probably the

first time in his life that he had felt absolutely terrified. The one who made him feel just as afraid was

Basil who was good-for-nothing in his eyes all the time. holds © this.

"No, he will die. Even if I don't kill him, there's no way for him to survive. Time to go..." Alston suddenly

burst into laughter, a strange expression now replacing his previous terrified one. He gave the Thunder

Dragon Spear in his left hand a quick glance before he fled, fearing that Rocky would kill him. To him,

Rocky was no longer the good-for-nothing Basil, but a terrifying monster.

After Alston escaped, Rocky slowly walked out of the dust and smoke. He fell to one knee, and his face

contorted into a ferocious-looking expression due to the severe burns and scars that riddled his flesh.

The evil spiritual power was too much, eroding his body.

"U... Uriah..." Rocky suddenly called out. With the little willpower he had left, he stumbled towards

Uriah who lay in a pool of blood.

The beast appeared to be on the verge of death. Alston's spear severely injured it by striking its

spiritual source.

As Rocky managed to come to Uriah's side, he knelt down and raised a trembling hand to touch its

head.

Sensing Rocky's aura, Uriah slowly opened its eyes, looked at its owner with bright eyes and moaned

weakly.

For a moment, the whole world faded into nothing but quiet—absolute silence.

"Rubygon was killed because of me. And now... Now you're about to meet the same fate. I wish there

was something I could do. I'm sorry, Uriah... I'm sorry!" He could do nothing more but helplessly look at

the suffering beast before him. Rocky clenched his teeth, trying to find some way to restrain the

sadness in his heart from escaping. His tears rolled down his face like tiny rivers and began to drip onto

Uriah's forehead.

A bright flame burst and began to spread all over Uriah's body. The beast's flesh became transparent

and began to emit a faint light. Uriah then started to shrink and soon disappeared. Where it once lay

appeared a red, oval egg.

"This is..." Rocky was surprised at Uriah's sudden disappearance and the red egg's appearance.

He heard a faint voice. Turning his head towards it, he was met with a woman who lay under a tree in

the distance. She began to move a bit.

"Sue... Sue? She's still... alive?" Rocky's eyes widened in bewilderment. He struggled to get back on

his two feet, but he just stumbled down again.

"I have to rescue... Sue..." He was determined to save her. Using his hands, he slowly began to crawl

and climb towards Sue.

The ground he clutched on to as he crawled was smeared with his blood. The pain was almost

unbearable. He would tend to his wound later. Right now, he needed to save Sue.

Rain began to pour. As the droplets fell onto his injured body which was eroded by the spiritual power,

they evaporated into thin air and surrounded him like a puff of smoke.

After a while, he was getting closer and closer to Sue. But before he could, he let out an ear-piercing

howl. After that, everything went dark. The Holy Dragon Bead's evil power had devoured and

annihilated the last of his senses.

Sue seemed so far away, even though she was now just one step away from where he was.

Black lines, like poisoned veins, began to run all over Rocky's face. At the same time, the black

spiritual power kept surging out of his body. His eyes were now the color of coal and he kept scratching

the ground with his hands until his nails bled. He was in so much pain, which terrified him. He could do

nothing but wait for death to take him out of this misery.
