Chapter 704 A Completely New Appraisal

CHAPTER 704 A COMPLETELY NEW APPRAISAL

"Commander in Chief, the Holy Sea Empire seems to be aware that they fell into a trap, so they didn't

dispatch reinforcements. It looks like they have learned from their mistakes. They should have roughly

ten thousand soldiers left in Mont City, while our soldiers are only ten thousand. To say the least, even

though we have the same strength of troops as that of the Holy Sea Empire, it will be difficult to take

Mont City back," Allen reported to Rocky.

"I see... It's time to have words with the Holy Sea Empire," Rocky replied as he folded his arms across

his chest.

"Rocky, are you planning to negotiate with them?" Isis couldn't help but ask.

Likewise, the others turned their gaze to Rocky in astonishment. After all, none of them believed that

the Holy Sea Empire would be willing to negotiate, so they didn't even think of it as an option.

"I have to try. If we end this battle through negotiations, it will be a win-win situation." Truthfully, Rocky

also felt uncertain about his idea. Like them, he doubted its feasibility, but he was more concerned

about the people who could lose their lives if the battle continued. Besides, the Holy Sea Empire had

also sustained great losses, so it was the best time to do it.

Four hours later, Rocky arrived at the broken south gate of Mont City with Isis, Allen, and Sabina in tow.

The broken gate was so heavily guarded by the soldiers of the Holy Sea Empire that even a fly

wouldn't be able to get through. And as they walked and saw all the heavy security, Rocky felt better

about his decision.

The guards tensed and stood at the ready when Rocky and his companions approached from in front.

"I'm the Commander in Chief of the Crimson Dragon Army. We came here to negotiate with your

Commander in Chief!" Rocky called out, as soon as they were within hearing distance. He kept his

expression confident, and he infused his voice with as much calm as possible.

Murmurs echoed from the soldiers but no one replied to Rocky.

"It looks like they're not willing to negotiate with us," Isis murmured in disappointment. She had been

hopeful when they approached, but nobody dared to acknowledge them now. How could she even

think that this idea was plausible?

"Don't worry, just wait." Rocky remained calm beside her as if he was still waiting for something.

After a long while, a voice called out from the gate, "Commander in Chief, if you are willing to negotiate,

please come in alone."

At this, Rocky's face grew solemn.

"No, Rocky! It's too dangerous!" Isis immediately protested as she reached out a hand to block his way.

"What if it's a trap?" Allen nodded in agreement. In the past, they had been trapped by the Timber Deity

Empire, and as everyone knew, all was fair in war.

"It's only fair that we show our sincerity first. Don't worry about me. I have an escape plan in place,"

Rocky said with a confident smirk. He patted Isis on the back as he passed, and then he headed to the

south gate, his cocksure steps fading behind enemy lines.

The soldiers who saw Rocky enter, all stepped back and parted like the sea. One by one, they

dispersed and fell back, and a path was made for him. They all gazed at him, some with respect, and

some with admiration, as he walked to their camp with grace and confidence.

Inside the camp, he found a group of people waiting for him. They were led by an imposing man with a

greying beard, dressed in golden armor. He had an aura at the Supernal Stage, and each solemn and

graceful movement screamed of a noble lineage. He must be Clark then, the Commander in Chief of

the Holy Sea Empire.

"Commander in Chief, Rocky is here to show his respects to you..." a servant introduced. At the same

time, Rocky politely smiled and cupped his hands in front of his chest as a gesture of curtsy.

"Are you the Commander in Chief of the Crimson Dragon Army? I've heard a lot about you. It's

rumored that you saved Holy Dragon Empire's Evian City from Timber Deity Empire's attack. They said

you demolished the troop of thirty thousand men with less than ten thousand soldiers," said Clark. He

gazed at Rocky with astonishment and respect, as he was much younger than he had been expecting,

and yet, he had accomplished such legendary feats. His reputation preceded him, and for good reason.

Rocky didn't reply. Instead, he nodded in agreement and waited for Clark to continue.

"I didn't expect that I would be defeated by someone so young. But I think it's reasonable, as you may

be young, but you are quite experienced in battle." A look of pleasant surprise and understanding

quickly spread across Clark's face, though he was reluctant to accept the result of the battle.

"Nobody can be a winner all the time. I just won out of sheer luck this time," Rocky said modestly.

"By luck?" Clark snorted. He knew that it wasn't by fortune that Rocky won. Even as a general who had

attended many battles, he had never heard or encountered such talent as Rocky. It was unbelievable

that Rocky, even though he was facing an overwhelming gap in the number of forces, could still save

the city and turn the tables on his attackers. His counterattack would be remembered as the most

dramatic and striking battle in the history of wars on the Wild Spirit Land.

It was also unexpected that this miracle was performed by a young military freshman.

"Don't talk nonsense. One enemy is too many, and a hundred friends are too few. I hope you can

withdraw your army. It is meaningless to continue this battle since you have no chance of winning,"

Rocky declared in a solemn but authoritative tone.

"Don't be too confident. Even though we have roughly equal military strength, we still have an

advantage, since we are the ones who have taken Mont City. Our reinforcements are coming, and we All content is © N0velDrama.Org.

will try our best to defend Mont City. Once they arrive, your Crimson Dragon Army will be finished,"

Clark answered calmly.

"Really? If you insist, then I will fight against you till the end. I can assure you that I will take back Mont

City before your reinforcements arrive," Rocky spoke with an air of aggressiveness. His eyes burned

with determination, as he stared Clark down.

Meanwhile, Clark didn't know how to react. He was astonished that Rocky, who was so young, could be

so confident and aggressive.

He gaped in shock when Rocky turned to walk away without an ounce of hesitation. He called out,

"Please wait a moment!"

Rocky who still had his back on Clark, let a cunning smirk curve on his lips. Clark was just bluffing, and

the soldiers of the Holy Sea Empire had lost their confidence. He knew that they had no will to fight,

even though they had conquered Mont City. Thus, he anticipated that Clark would stop him from

leaving.

"Any advice?" Rocky turned to Clark and asked.

"I have two conditions. If you fulfill them, I will withdraw our army," Clark hesitantly proposed.

"I'm listening." This time, Rocky turned his full attention to Clark and sat back down.

"First, we will continue our alliance," Clark started. When the Holy Sea Empire started this battle, they

had essentially broken their alliance with the Holy Dragon Empire, which was a reasonable excuse for

the Holy Dragon Empire to attack them in return. If that happened, the Holy Sea Empire would not be

able to bear the consequences, as they were just a small country.

"No problem." Rocky nodded easily.

"Second, we hope that the Holy Dragon Empire could protect the Holy Sea Empire from danger and

provide reinforcements if needed in the future," Clark added. This time, he had a worried look on his

face, as if he was especially concerned with this condition.

Of course, this detail didn't escape Rocky's attention.
