CHAPTER 521 THE ARROGANT WOMAN

"Let me take a look." Rocky got up with a deep breath.

"I'll go with you." Sabina stood up alongside Rocky. She didn't want to let him go alone.

Rocky didn't refuse. Together, they walked towards the direction of the voice.

A few steps in, the ground beneath them vibrated as if something huge was approaching them.

"Wait, could these be related?" The two felt worried. They stopped in their tracks and waited for the

vibrations to stop.

Suddenly, they saw a woman appear at the foot of the valley. She had a small and dainty face. She

would have been pretty, if not for the blood running across her face and on her shoulders. The red color

of the blood was a stark contrast against her pale skin. She looked weak and injured.

As soon as the woman walked forward, the trees behind her collapsed. Dust rose from the ground as it

was hit with a heavy thud.

The girl continued walking towards Sabina and Rocky almost nonchalantly.

As she got closer, Rocky let out a small gasp. She was truly beautiful. Rocky guessed she was perhaps

seventeen years old. Black hair framed her face and her clear eyes offered a sharp gaze. She wore a

pink gauze dress with a phoenix emblem pinned on it. But Rocky wasn't just awestruck at her beauty;

he was also stunned because she looked familiar.

"She is a spirit manipulator of the Magic Phoenix Empire." Sabina interrupted Rocky's thoughts and

pointed at the pin on her dress.

"What is she doing here alone?" Rocky craned his neck to see if anyone else was following her. He

only saw a three-tailed fox and no one else. What was strange about this was the fact that Rocky

spotted at least five spirit manipulators of the Magic Phoenix Empire gathered together before. If she

was one of them, it was curious that she was left alone.

"Should we help her?" Rocky asked, taking note of the woman's nearing presence. It would have been

the right thing to do to offer help, but that might put them in a lot of trouble.

Sabina shared the same sentiment. She watched the woman approach them.

The woman also had a look of shock on her face, but this immediately disappeared at the sound of her

sweet voice. "Help me draw away that monster," she ordered. "I will repay you for your kindness!"

Despite looking and sounding sweet, Sabina could detect a sense of command in the woman's voice.

She seemed to be sure of herself and confident that the two would follow her orders.

Then, a giant figure jumped from behind the woman. It was the size of a mountain and it possessed a

long nose that it used to clear obstacles ahead.

"Wait, I know that monster!" Rocky took one look at the monster's whole figure and recognized it

immediately. It was the Furious Long-nosed Bear and it wasn't the first time that he was encountering it.

In fact, Rocky almost died in its presence last time, but, as marked by the scar on its lower abdomen,

Uriah and Rubygon helped him defeat it.

"This monster is already at the fourth grade of the five-star level. Even if I call on Duchess Silver, I'm

not sure if we can defeat it," Sabina confessed. She was staring at its long nose and was feeling her

body go cold. The Furious Long-nosed Bear was as powerful as a spirit manipulator at the Supernal

Stage. However, given its physical strength and build, even a spirit manipulator at the Supernal Stage

might not even succeed in a battle with it.

"We have to kill it or else it will kill us," Rocky assessed. It wasn't his first battle with the Furious Long-

nosed Bear, but he still wasn't too confident that he'd win a second battle.

"Go ahead and save the girl. I'll stall the monster and lure it away," Sabina offered.

"Are you sure?" Rocky asked. He found it strange of Sabina to offer to help a woman they just met.

After all, she usually avoided involving herself in other people's business.

Sabina ignored Rocky's question. She transformed herself into a shadow of ice and rushed towards the

Furious Long-nosed Bear.

Rocky shrugged and decided he had no choice but to go with her plan. He summoned Rubygon and

rode on it to rush towards the woman. "Come up!" he hollered at her.

The woman looked up and her expression changed. She realized he looked familiar but she couldn't

think why. She decided to waste no time and instead summoned her spirit-manipulated beast to help

her jump onto Rubygon's back.

"Hold tight," Rocky instructed. As soon as they were together, he ordered Rubygon to turn around and

find a safe place. As they took off, he looked back at Sabina who was successfully distracting the

monster.

As Rubygon reached a seemingly peaceful valley, Rocky thought of leaving the girl behind.

"It looks safe here. You can get off and stay here." He planned to go back and support Sabina as soon

as the woman had left them. He could only imagine Sabina's difficulty even with the help of Duchess

Silver.

"Hey, why are you leaving me?" the girl cried out.

"I need to turn back and help her, my bodyguard." Rocky heard a quiver in his own voice. He realized

that he cared about Sabina much more than he thought.

"No, stay with me and protect me," the girl demanded. She was acting like royalty.

"Let's make something clear," Rocky said. "It wasn't my idea to save you. My beautiful bodyguard

asked me to. I am not attracted to you nor do I find any compelling reason to protect you." Rocky was

furious. This girl was playing with him and wasting his time as Sabina battled a difficult monster.

The woman blinked. "Do you want to die?" she said with a cold glare.

"I am not threatened by you," Rocky sneered. He really could not comprehend this woman's arrogance.

"Oh please, if I wasn't injured, I'd be much stronger than you. You're lucky I do not have my full

strength," she threatened.

Rocky gazed at her from head to toe. He assumed she had the strength of the second grade of the

Earthly Stage. She seemed strong enough to stand out among her peers.

Rocky decided to no longer indulge her and gestured Rubygon to leave.

At this sight, the woman called the attention of her three-tailed fox. "Go after him!" she ordered. The

three-tailed fox hesitated not a single second and immediately pounced on Rocky.

Rocky had enough of it. His eyes flashed and he released his aura. He was at the Heavenly Stage and

his aura easily enveloped the girl. The woman looked stunned and then her body collapsed to the floor

as she trembled.
