Chapter 769 Extraordinary Background

CHAPTER 769 EXTRAORDINARY BACKGROUND

Rocky spent three days rapidly performing experiments on the remaining spirit-manipulated beasts in

the Magical Beast House. He was preparing himself to leave. Juey had come for him several times and

Rocky hid from her. He was tired of that and thought it might be best for him to just wrap up his

research and leave.

"The qualifying competition is today. I guess I shouldn't expect Jonas today," Rocky murmured to

himself. Recently, Jonas went to him every day. He was very eager to be taught by Rocky.

As if on cue, Jonas suddenly came in.

"Hey!" Jonas's eyes lit up the moment he saw Rocky.

"You're here," Rocky said flatly.

"Rookie, why didn't you attend the qualifying competition? I thought you would be there, but you

weren't," Jonas said. He'd only been with Rocky for a few days, but he knew that Rocky was

knowledgeable when it came to beast curing. He even knew things that weren't discussed by Harry

during their class. Jonas had admired Rocky for that. He thought that he was an outstanding human

and that he should take part in the competition. He was sure everyone would admire his extraordinary

talents.

"I'm not interested," Rocky responded. Then he quickly dropped the topic and asked Jonas to help him.

He asked him to follow him into the beast stable.

On the other side, an old man of about fifty years old and a young woman entered the gate of the

Magical Beast House. The old man looked ordinary in his black and golden robe, but something about

his eyes made him look sharp and mysterious.C0ntent © 2024 (N/ô)velDrama.Org.

The young woman was about twenty-four years old. She was tall, slim, and fresh-looking. Her sparkling

eyes and high-bridged nose were perfectly framed by her black and red hair. She was beautiful, and

her golden dress made her look even more attractive. Even the two ladies of Xiao Clan could not

compare to her beauty.

Something about the woman made her look powerful. Her aura was imposing and the way she stood

made her look calm yet confident. She seemed like a powerful spirit manipulator.

Together, the old man and the young woman caught the attention of everyone in the Magical Beast

House.

The woman looked elegant, but her eyes were full of disdain when she noticed that the people around

talked about her. It made her look arrogant.

"Hi. You must have come a long way." Willie, who was in the lobby, walked up towards them and

greeted them politely.

"And you are?" the young woman uttered, looking at Willie with a serious look.

"Oh, I'm Willie, butler of the Magical Beast House." Willie offered his hand.

"My master and I travelled all the way to the Barren City because we heard that the Magical Beast

House sold rare spirit-manipulated beasts. We came here to take a look," the woman explained.

"I see. You may come with me to the beast farm then," Willie said as he led them the way. "Not to brag,

but we do have quite an exquisite and varied collection of species. We also have some of the rarest

spirit-manipulated beasts." Willie eyed the expensive-looking clothing the two were wearing.

Together, the three walked towards the beast farm.

The moment they stepped into the beast farm, Rocky sensed their arrival.

"Wow, what a strong aura!" Rocky turned to look for its source and saw the three people walking

towards the beast farm.

"What's wrong, Rookie?" Jonas asked curiously.

"It doesn't concern you. Just continue your work. I have to do something." Rocky immediately left

without waiting for Jonas's reaction. He rushed into a corner where he could remain hidden as he

observed the old man and the young woman. He also hid his aura so as not to be discovered.

He saw a few beast farm workers approach the three.

"What kind of spirit-manipulated beast are you looking for? We have all kinds in this beast farm! From

largest ones to the smallest one, we even have ones that can fly! No matter what you want, we'll surely

have something to offer you," Willie said proudly.

"I must say, this Magical Beast House has met its reputation. There must be numerous kinds of spirit-

manipulated beasts here," the old man said calmly as he looked around.

"So what? They're obviously rubbish," the young woman sneered.

Willie let out a small gasp. The woman looked knowledgeable, but it wasn't his first time to encounter

such a rude customer. In his experience, customers acted arrogantly so they could bargain later.

"Miss, you haven't even seen anything up close. What makes you say that our beasts here are

rubbish?" Willie responded in a calm voice.

"Do I really have to? I can tell by scent what kind of spirit-manipulated beasts you keep." The woman

rolled her eyes.

Willie's eyebrows shot up. It was his first time to hear someone say they could identify beasts through

scent.

"You don't believe me?" the woman said, acting offended. She turned to her left and started pointing

with her fingers. "That one in the first beast stable on the left is the Tattooed Crab, the one in the third

stable is the Three-tailed Snow Monkey, and the one in the fifth stable on your right is the White

Shadow Eagle." The woman concluded with a dramatic shrug.

Willie was speechless. The woman was indeed correct.

'This woman is extraordinary! It seems that she is extraordinarily skilled in the aspect of beast

evaluation. More than that, she is a master at the first grade of the Supernal Stage, but she is a little

younger than Sabina. Definitely, she is not an ordinary spirit manipulator. She could be of noble

descent, like from the great clan in the Timber Deity Empire.' Rocky were enumerating possibilities in

his head as he stared at the old man and young woman. The old man surprised him quite a lot. He was

almost certain that he was just being modest. He was easily above the Divine Stage. He didn't expect

that there would be such an unrivalled master at the Divine Stage in the border city of the Timber Deity

Empire.

However, Willie seemed oblivious to just how powerful the two people in front of him were.
