CHAPTER 1732 ATTENDING THE CONTEST
Three months had passed since the Godly Geniuses were officially selected and declared. In the past, the Godly Genius who had performed the best during a task would have a pillar of divine power that reached two or two point five feet. An ordinary performance normally reached around two feet. Getting to three feet had been unheard of until now, making it an even more incredible achievement.
Most of the people believed that Israel was the one who had done it. He was powerful and his performance during the Nether Dragon King task had been quite good. All of that increased the possibility of his pillar of divine power reaching three feet.
Of course, there were also some people who suspected that the Godly Genius who had done it was Rocky because he had just received a reward from the gods.
However, there was no evidence, so no one dared to confirm who it was. Therefore, they sent out spies to eavesdrop on each other and find out.
In addition, the gods had released a new task, shocking the nine fiefs once again.
The task was to go to the human race and participate in the Spiritual Emperor Contest. The contest was to be held after the human race and the spiritual race stopped fighting against each other and reinstated peace.
Originally, the Spiritual Emperor Contest was supposed to be hosted by the human race. But now, the Di Clan wanted it to be held in cooperation with the spiritual race. When the time came, all the powerful warriors from the human race and the spiritual race that were below the peak of the Emperor Realm would participate in it.
The intention behind the new task was to test the strength between the nine Godly Geniuses and the Spiritual Emperors of the human race and the spiritual race.
The winner would be whoever achieved first place in the upcoming contest. However, there was one prerequisite. The nine Godly Geniuses had to disguise themselves so that their true identities wouldn't be discovered by the human race or the spiritual race. If their identities were exposed, they would be disqualified and the result wouldn't count even if they finished the task.
After he got to know the instructions for the next task, Gilbert sighed happily. After all, Rocky had learned how to disguise himself using skin masks from Esteban. He would have no problems hiding his identity and keeping it hidden throughout the task.
The contest would be held in one month, so the nine Godly Geniuses had plenty of time to prepare. Before long, they would have to start making their way to the human race's territory.
Gilbert made an appointment with Rocky and Valeria to discuss how they would tackle the oncoming challenges.
"What are your thoughts on going to the human race to attend the contest?" Gilbert asked as he leaned back in his chair.
"I don't have any qualms. We have to attend it whether we like it or not. Besides, it won't be difficult to disguise ourselves as human beings or as members of the spiritual race. The only challenge will be maintaining our qualification. We have to keep our identities hidden to participate in the contest, and we must not arouse any suspicion. If either of us won, it would be even harder to keep our identities hidden..." Rocky analyzed.
"That makes sense," Gilbert agreed, nodding firmly.
"What if we disguise ourselves as two Spiritual Emperors from the human race or the spiritual race to participate in the contest using their identities?" Valeria suggested.
"It won't be easy to make two Spiritual Emperors disappear so we can replace them." Rocky smiled.
"Then what should we do?" Valeria shook her head. She realized quickly how naive her previous proposal had sounded.
"How about we worry about that when we arrive in the territory of the human race?" Rocky suggested. The truth was, Rocky could find out a way to take part in the contest. He just couldn't announce his method to Gilbert and the others.
"Okay. If that's how we're going to do this, you two should leave soon," Gilbert urged. There was still a month left before the contest started, but Gilbert knew that it was not easy to get a new identity and get in, so he wanted Rocky and Valeria to have lots of time to prepare.
"Miss Valeria, please go back to your quarter and get ready to leave. I need to speak with Odin alone," he added.
Valeria nodded, turned around, and walked away.
"Sir, what can I do for you?" After Valeria was gone, Rocky turned back and looked straight at Gilbert.
"I was wondering if it was your pillar of divine power that reached three feet," Gilbert said without hesitation. The anticipation was swimming clearly in his big eyes as he waited for Rocky's answer.
"Why do you think it belongs to me?" Rocky smiled calmly.
"No specific reason. I just feel it in my gut," Gilbert replied confidently. He didn't have a shred of evidence, but his intuition told him that the Godly Genius who had achieved it was Rocky.
"If I were to tell you that it's not me, you would be very disappointed, wouldn't you?" Rocky asked. He couldn't reveal to Gilbert that it was him. He had to stay ambiguous.
"It doesn't matter either way. Your recent performance was enough to satisfy me." Contradicting his words, Gilbert still looked a little scorned at Rocky's response. "You can go back and start preparing
too."
Nodding, Rocky departed from the conference hall. The moment that he returned to the Ghost Palace, Gloria jumped out at him and exclaimed, "I heard that we are going to the human race!"
"Yes." Rocky nodded, staying relaxed.
"Please tell me if I'm dreaming. The human race's territory is a place I've longed to go to. I've heard that there are many handsome, strong men that live there..." Gloria said all in one breath, staring pensively off into the distance.
"Slow down. You can't forget that your father asked you to disguise yourself and stay with me. Even when we get to their territory, you can't go off on your own," Rocky reminded her.
"But how can I participate in the competition if I have to stay with you all day long?" Gloria protested, pouting out her bottom lip. Text © by N0ve/lDrama.Org.
"If necessary, I will come up with a way for you to take part in the contest," Rocky replied.
"Boring." Gloria kicked at the ground and folded her arms over her chest like a grumpy teenager.
"Now, go and get ready. We must be prepared to leave at any time."
"I think it will be a burden for you to bring me with you. Why don't you let me go alone?" Gloria asked, feeling a light bulb turn on in her head.
"I need an apprentice pharmacist to refine medicine for me and I've picked you. Is there anything wrong with that?" Rocky knew exactly what Gloria wanted, but there was no way he would let her go off on her own. Her father had entrusted him to take care of her, and if he let her go, she would cause trouble and everyone would point their fingers at Rocky.
Currently, Gloria was out of ideas. She sighed. Then, her original purpose popped into her head. She wanted to make Rocky fall in love with her so she could take advantage of him. Suddenly, staying with Rocky during the task didn't seem so bad. Her protests stopped.
After some more preparation, Rocky, Valeria, and Gloria, who disguised herself as Rocky's apprentice pharmacist, left the Ghost Fief. They mounted a beast and headed for the border of the Shura Race.
This time, the Ghost Fief had chosen not to send a large number of guards with Rocky and the others because Gilbert was worried that the other fiefs would try and stop them from reaching the human race. Instead, he merely sent several Spiritual Emperors to protect them.
They quickly learned that the other fiefs had been thinking the same thing. The other Godly Geniuses moved secretly towards the human race so they wouldn't be attacked.
Five days later, Rocky, Valeria, and Gloria finally arrived at a small city on the border in the Ethereal Region. It was the place where the war had come to an end.
Because there was a chance that too many people would give their identities away, Rocky asked the Spiritual Emperors to return to the Shura Race after they arrived at the city.
"Wow! Right now, we're in the territory of the human race! It's so different from what we have in the Shura Race! Isn't it amazing?" As soon as they entered the small city on the border, Gloria's eyes widened. The city was very prosperous and unique. She couldn't contain her excitement.
