CHAPTER 532 I DOUBT THAT
"You know Erica?" Tasha asked in surprise. She never expected Rocky to call out Erica's name. 'Have
they ever met before? Or did he just hear about her?' she asked herself.
"Know her? I guess you could say that—if defeating her in combat counts, that is," Rocky replied with a
wry smile.
"Liar! Are you delusional? How could you possibly be on Erica's level? She's in the Supernal Stage and
can knock you down with just the twitch of her finger," Tasha said with doubt. Tasha was quite
apprehensive of Rocky's words. Little did she know that she was conversing with the man who not only
won over her and various phoenix spirit manipulators at the Holy Dragon Empire's national celebration
but defeated Erica alongside Mia as well.
"The Supernal Stage? You mean she finally managed to break through and reach it?" Now it was
Rocky's turn to be surprised. He was awestruck by the fact that Erica managed to upgrade from the
Heavenly Stage to the Supernal Stage in just one year. Everyone knew just how difficult it was for spirit
manipulators in the Heavenly Stage to break through the bottleneck into the Supernal Stage. Going as
far back as ancient times, countless spirit manipulators in the Heavenly Stage had yet to break through
into the Supernal Stage up until now—a regret many of them had to live with for the rest of their lives.
At a young age, Erica had managed to break through that very bottleneck that even her own
predecessors couldn't overcome. Along with proving her unquestionably strong talent and intelligence,
her rapid progress had made it hard for many experienced spirit manipulators to keep pace with her. All
of this made her worthy of being called one of the rarest spirit manipulators in the Magic Phoenix
Empire.
"So she scares you? Well then, you ought to be kinder to me. Otherwise, Erica won't spare you once
she finds out about us," Tasha threatened with a triumphant note in her voice. Her face lit up with joy at
the surprised look on Rocky's face.
"I already have you in the palm of my hand. Why should she scare me? Besides, a naive girl like you?
Before she finds out, you might just…" Rocky stopped and then gave her a wry smile tinged with
arrogance.
"I might just what? What are you planning to do with me?" Tasha asked fearfully. She became more
alert upon seeing the smirk spread across Rocky's face.
"Don't you think you owe me something in return for saving your life?" Rocky asked mischievously as Content held by .
he walked closer to Tasha. She was so innocent—and so easy to tease and scare.
"If you come any closer, I'll scream for help. And if it's loud enough, Erica will save me. You'll be dead!"
Tasha became more scared with each passing second. She was worried about what Rocky was
planning on doing to her. Given her current strength, she was no match for Rocky. She realized she
had no choice but to scream if Rocky tried to hurt her in any way.
"Alright then. Let's find out if there's any truth in what you said. Just scream." Rocky shrugged. He took
his time with each step towards Tasha, slowly but surely closing the gap between them.
"You…" Tasha's eyes widened in surprise, not knowing what to do at that moment. She knew she
couldn't defeat Rocky. And even if she could escape from him, she had nowhere to go. The Myriad
Beasts Ground was a very dangerous place where even powerful spirit manipulators couldn't feel safe
and sound in.
As Rocky inched closer to Tasha, she couldn't help but tremble in fear. Biting her pink lips, she
immediately put down the three-tailed fox in her arms. Immediately, a flash of spiritual light spread from
her body. She was ready to fight Rocky.
"I'm not interested in you. You're nothing more than a little girl—a baby," Rocky mocked her. Standing
directly in front of her, Rocky looked at her up and down before proceeding to tap Tasha's forehead
with the tip of his finger before turning and walking away from her towards Uriah.
Tasha protested, "A baby? I am not a baby! How dare you ridicule me like that?" Coming back to her
senses, Tasha realized that Rocky intentionally intimidated her. Placing her hands on her hips, she
shouted at him in anger.
However, Rocky simply ignored her. He only cared about Uriah at the moment. As he drew nearer, he
immediately began studying his spirit-manipulated beast that just completed its transformation.
Appearance-wise, Uriah didn't change that much unlike the other spirit-manipulated beasts that
underwent the same transformation. To Rocky's surprise, Uriah had gained a powerful pair of flaming
wings. Another transformation he noticed was that its fiery red scales and shell had turned into a
vibrant black one which only added to its already dominating appearance. The fire on its body had
grown as strong as the Evil Flame that could kill instantly. Another tail had grown as well, which
heightened its ability to aim and release powerful balls of fire. Scorching heat was all that Rocky could
feel as he got closer to Uriah.
Rocky never expected Uriah's transformation to be this grand. It managed to simultaneously ascend a
higher grade and stage—making Rocky feel happier and lucky that he would have a powerful beast like
Uriah by his side during his future battles.
"You've reached the fourth grade of the four-star level now, Uriah. You're more powerful than me now! I
guess that means your master needs to double his efforts to keep up with you. It'd be a shame if an
unworthy master rode you." Smiling and sighing, Rocky reached out with his hand and patted Uriah's
back. Immediately, Uriah roared and rubbed against Rocky's head gently. The two obviously shared a
special bond.
Rubygon went closer to Rocky. After the transformation, Rocky realized that Uriah had grown just as
big as Rubygon. He felt so small in the presence of these domineering beasts.
Rubygon couldn't help but roar in excitement upon seeing Uriah's grand upgrade. Uriah was like a
mother to Rubygon. So naturally, it would be delighted to see Uriah become more powerful and less
likely to become gravely injured in any future battles.
Rocky felt safe alongside his beasts—his companions. Upon seeing this, Tasha had a slightly strange
expression painted across her face. She had no idea that both Uriah and Rubygon were under Rocky's
wing. She always assumed that Uriah was Sabina's spirit-manipulated beast. Now she wondered what
it was that drew those beasts close to Rocky.
Tasha asked as she pointed at Rubygon, "Is this your spirit-manipulated beast?" If Rubygon wasn't his,
then he must have a way with spirit-manipulated beasts.
Raising his head, he looked at Tasha and thought, 'This girl is so curious about everything, isn't she?'
"Both," Rocky replied casually.
"Impossible! How could you manage two spirit-manipulated beasts?" Tasha asked surprised. Of
course, she didn't believe what he said.
Unperturbed, Rocky asked Tasha, "Impossible? I only have two spirit-manipulated beasts. What's so
strange about it?" In reality, Rocky actually controlled three spirit-manipulated beasts if he were to
include Rainbow Glow Unicorn. Besides, there was a Ghostly Ice Fox-wolf waiting for him to train.
Upon hearing this, Tasha's eyes opened as wide as saucers. The disbelief on her face was so obvious
that Rocky could already tell exactly what she was thinking.
"You don't believe me?" Rocky asked her. 'Of course not!' Tasha thought. Sensing her doubt, Rocky
whispered something to Uriah and Rubygon.
Instantly, Uriah and Rubygon rushed towards Tasha, pinned her down, and started licking her face with
their tongues. It seemed as though they wanted her to play with them.
"Don't! Please! It tickles!" Shaking her head, Tasha giggled and had to beg for mercy. "Alright, I believe
you! Please, just tell them to get off of me! Please!"
Once she begged, Rocky called Uriah and Rubygon back to his side.
Tasha got off the ground. Her expression had changed from annoyed to confused. It was still so hard to
believe that a spirit manipulator could control two spirit-manipulated beasts with as much ease as
Rocky did.
