CHAPTER 1661 TIME FLIES
Three months passed by at a snail's pace while Rocky stayed in the Ghost Palace.
Rocky made sure to use his time well. Immediately his injuries had healed, he went straight to cultivating, almost making it to the Emperor Realm. On top of that, he had broken through to the third stage of the Flaming Ogre Formula.
Even though he had already achieved so much in such little time, he was still relentless in his pursuit to grow stronger. He learned a plethora of medical skills from Esteban in secret. The most notable of which was the Skill of Magic Needle, which could not only heal wounds but also help to cultivate and expand the meridians.
Even though he was getting stronger every day, he still found it impossible to break out of the Ghost Palace. After much time pondering around, he figured that staying inside was for the best since he wasn't sure where exactly he was and what dangers might be waiting for him outside.
Another few days passed in a blink of an eye.
"Kid, I'm going on a long trip. It may take two days. Stay here and don't even think about paling tricks with me," Esteban suddenly said to Rocky one day. With that, he carried his gray cloth bag and left the palace before Rocky could even say anything.
Rocky waited until he couldn't hear Esteban's footsteps anymore before opening his Magic Spiritual Space.
It had already been a couple of months since the last time he opened it, because he didn't want Esteban to know that he was now much better.
He took the rare opportunity while it was still ripe and entered his Magic Spiritual Race wearing a big smile on his face.
As soon as Kohen saw Rocky, it immediately bounced around in joy and let out a gleeful noise. Rocky was surprised to see that Kohen was now as big as a person with its slender limbs. He was glad to see it inherited the shape of the Rainbow Glow Unicorn with wings as bright as the sun on its back.
Rocky smiled and pet Kohen on the head. He then went down to the lab and took a sample of his blood for testing.
Esteban had previously used the blood exchange technique on his body to cure him of his congestion. During the process, his blood was slowly replaced by another. He wanted to know whether or not the new blood flowing through his veins would be harmful to him in the long run.
He spent half a day performing his own experiments before he was certain that the new blood posed no threat to him. On the contrary, it even strengthened his body.
His joy was immediately interrupted when he discovered that the blood flowing through him was not human's.
If it weren't that of the human race, then the only possibility was that it might belong to the Shura Race. This explained why Esteban said he might die any time if he went out.
In other words, he was in a very dangerous situation!
But after experiencing numerous life and death situations, he already accepted that nothing was permanent in life. Although he could not return to the original world, he could rest easy knowing that Marcia and the others had safely returned. As for what might come next, he could care less. The worst thing that would happen to him was death, and he accepted that a long time ago.
To be on the safe side, Rocky didn't stay much longer in the Magic Spiritual Space.
After returning to the Ghost Palace, he picked up a medical book and began to read as usual.
He didn't know how much time had passed when the gates of the Ghost Palace was suddenly forced open by a powerful force.
Rocky couldn't believe his eyes. In a quarter of a year he spent there, he had never seen a single soul enter the palace.
However, he was weary to show any emotions. Instead, he continued to sit and read his book with a straight face. From the corner of his eye, he saw a middle-aged woman holding a girl with red hair run towards him. The girl was dressed in revealing clothing that made it almost impossible to ignore her.
"Where is Esteban? Call him out!" the middle-aged woman ordered when she saw that Esteban wasn't there.
"He's not in," Rocky answered in no hurry.
"What? What bad luck! What should we do now? Miss Vivian was poisoned by the dark fire, and Esteban's Skill of Magic Needle is the only thing that could save her!" The middle-aged woman began to break down into tears.
This piqued Rocky's interest, making him look closely at the girl. Her skin was dark red and her lips were purple. It didn't take a genius to tell that she was gravely poisoned.
He recalled having read the dark fire in one of his books before. It was a venom that came from a diabolical beast. Once someone got it, their death was almost certain. It would spread all over their body in minutes and they would die within a matter of hours.
"How long has she been poisoned?" Rocky could tell that the girl was no ordinary person. He thought that saving her might mean that she would be of some use in the future. Plus, he had already successfully mastered Esteban's Skill of Magic Needle, so curing her would not be difficult.
"Four hours," the middle-aged woman replied with an anxious face.
"Maybe I can save her. If you trust me, put her on the ice bed," Rocky said as he stood up.
"Who are you?" The middle-aged woman looked at Rocky suspiciously.
"I'm doing chores for Esteban," Rocky answered, raising his eyebrows.
"Doing chores? Are you kidding me? How can a lad like you save our precious lady?" she scoffed back with a disgusted look.
"Oh is that it? Fine, then take her back home and come back a few days later when Master Esteban gets here."
The woman bit her lip and hesitated. She knew that Vivian would be long dead before Esteban came back. She had no other choice. Text © by N0ve/lDrama.Org.
"Are you sure? Can you really save Miss Vivian?" the middle-aged woman asked hesitantly.
"I can't guarantee that I'll save her life. The dark fire is a mysterious poison even the most renowned experts find hard to deal with. But the longer you wait, the more danger she'll be in. I can only say that I'll try my best." Rocky frankly told the truth.
From what she heard, she could immediately tell that Rocky had a point. And so, she lifted the girl up and put her on the ice bed.
"Take off her coat!" Rocky said.
"What?" The middle-aged woman was stunned for a moment and then said angrily, "Do you want to die? She is still a young lady! How dare you?"
"Hey, how can I treat her with my needles if she has clothes on? One wrong move and it'll all be over!" Rocky bit back as he rolled his eyes at the middle-aged woman.
The middle-aged woman was left speechless but she knew this was not the time.
Not long after, the lady's beautiful body laid bare on the ice bed. Her skin was not as white as a human, but her wheat-colored complexion had a very foreign charm.
