Chapter 673 A Troubled Heart

CHAPTER 673 A TROUBLED HEART

The look on Laney's face changed when she heard Alyssa mentioned Rocky's name. She bit her lips

as memories came flashing back into her head, knowing she could have erased it long ago. This was

something she must keep from Alyssa, because Alyssa would end her life if she found out.

"I'm afraid that Blood Lord Leo will continue to act on impulse, and if he does, it will ruin our plan. You

need to join the left wing defense as soon as possible. Go there and act as an emissary of Timber

Deity Empire. Stay around Blood Lord Leo and keep an eye on him. Make sure you are always one

step ahead of his plans. If possible, use your charm to control him and make him listen to whatever you

may say. I don't care what method you will use. Just make sure that he will not get in my way and ruin

my plan," Alyssa ordered Laney with a deep, serious voice.

"Copy that. I will go right away." Laney switched her thoughts back to reality and nodded at Alyssa in

agreement.

"There's another thing. Since you know Rocky very well, give Blood Lord Leo a hand if necessary.

Make sure he will not fall into Rocky's hands once again. Stay focus and always keep our plan in mind.

We will destroy Crimson Dragon Army little by little and we will use the Roaring Flame Empire to

accomplish that," Alyssa added.

Laney nodded again, then turned around and left.

"Brother, did you finish the letter I asked you to write?" Alyssa asked as she fixed her eyes on Woods.

"Yes, it's done," Woods replied.

"What are you waiting for? Have it sent out right away! The Holy Dragon Empire is enjoying too much

peace. It's time to cause a little trouble for them." An evil smile spread across Alyssa's face. A wicked

idea just entered her mind, and it would surely stir up troubles in the Holy Dragon Empire.

Meanwhile, under the leadership of Rocky, the Crimson Dragon Army defeated Roaring Flame Empire

with a loss of about ten thousand troops. The casualty from the Roaring Flame Empire had doubled,

and most of them were from Blood Lord Army. The fighters were trained by Blood Lord Leo, and this

meant that the combat power of Roaring Flame Empire was by now reduced to less than a half.

It was a striking success for Crimson Dragon Army. The battle plan they used was very impressive,

however, Roaring Flame Empire remained superior in terms of number. Blood Lord Leo had been

fooled once, and he swore to himself that it would never happen again. A tougher and more dangerous

battle was sure to come.

Another thing that Crimson Dragon Army had to worry about was Blood Lord Leo's wrath. The heavy

loss infuriated Blood Lord Leo to the core, and his remaining forces were all set to make a move. The

entire army had prepared themselves to attack the Crimson Dragon Army right away.

But Rocky did not think it was bad news. He wanted Roaring Flame Empire to attack as soon as

possible. They were weak, and it would surely manifest the moment they made a move. Once they

attacked, Rocky would grab the opportunity to give them another blow, a more dreadful one this time.

Something would make the Roaring Flame Empire army retreat and run back home like scared dogs.

With this, Rocky asked Allen to send all of his master hands of the Heavenly Stage from the Elite

Regiment to keep their eyes fixed on the enemy. He wanted to know every plan, every detail. Only a

complete understanding of the enemy could bring them victory.

"Commander in Chief, I just got hold of a piece of information. Timber Deity Empire sent an emissary to

the left wing. It must be one of Alyssa's tricks. She's impatient, and it looks like she can't wait to cause

trouble." Allen stormed into the room and reported the news to Rocky with a worried look on his face.

"That's reasonable. Roaring Flame Empire just suffered a heavy loss. I don't think Alyssa will just sit by

and do nothing. If I am not mistaken, Alyssa must have sent her emissary to keep an eye on Blood

Lord Leo. She cannot let him rush into careless actions. Now, we're in real trouble," Rocky replied and

breathed out heavily. He frowned and remained deep in thoughts. If Blood Lord Leo would not attack as

he expected, the Crimson Dragon Army would never have the chance to defeat him and his army.

"Yes, but a leopard cannot change its spots. Blood Lord Leo is still the same ruthless man, no matter

what Alyssa's emissary said to convince him. I'm sure this is just temporary. He will soon itch to fight

back and turn the tables on us. Trust me!" Allen shared his own assessment.

"I don't know. It really depends on who the emissary is. Please check the identity of the emissary sent

by Alyssa as soon as possible. It is very crucial to us. I think it might be Woods. He is quite good at

persuading people," Rocky suspected.

"I understand. I will find out as soon as possible," Allen said and left the room.

"It's getting late, time to go and check," Rocky murmured when he was alone. He stood outside and

gazed at the stars above him. There was a cool breeze in the air and he took a relaxing walk outside of

the camp. He was enjoying his time alone, but then something stopped him as he neared the gate. A

delicate figure was walking towards him. It was dark, and the two of them almost bumped into each

other.

"Isis, what's up?" Rocky asked as he stared at the rosy face in front of him. Surprised, Isis took a step

back and tried to hide the blush that crept on her face.

"Are you going out?" Isis asked in a hesitant voice.

"Oh, right. I still have a few wild spirit-manipulated beasts that are under transformation. I want to finish

them as soon as possible." Rocky's voice faltered as he tried to give a half-baked excuse to Isis.

"Oh, I see." Isis nodded her head and said nothing else.

"Is there anything you need? Look, I'm not in a hurry. Please go ahead if you need something from

me," Rocky shrugged.

"It's nothing urgent. It's just that my father and I had a serious talk the last time he was here. He wanted

to remove me from my position as Deputy Commander in Chief after this war with Timber Deity Empire.

As a father, what he always wanted was for me to live a normal life. I'm his only daughter. He even

joked that he wanted to be a grandfather as soon as possible. I really don't know how to tell him. We

are not an actual couple and he really put me in a tight spot here." Isis' beautiful face turned bright red

as she narrated her problem. It was a dilemma for her, and she still could not figure out a way out of it.

Even if she grew up in a camp, Isis was still very conservative. A traditional girl who always followed

whatever her father asked her to do. But now, she was confronted with an awkward situation. She and

Rocky were not a real-life couple and were married for other reasons. She had thought about it really

hard, but still unable to come up with a solution. Finally, she decided to discuss the matter with Rocky.

She was well aware that she could only hide the truth from her father for a while, but not for a lifetime.

Rocky stared at her, confused. Isis had always been straightforward to him, and it was weird listening

to her right now. It sounded like she was asking something from him, but he could not tell what it was.

Maybe even Isis did not know what she was looking for.

"Oh, that. So, what's your plan?" Rocky thought for a while and asked.

"I don't know. I don't have the heart to tell him that our relationship is fake. That we got married for a

different reason, other than love. I'm afraid that it will break his heart into pieces. He might blame

himself if he thinks that I married you because of the Crimson Dragon Group. I really don't know what

to do!" Isis said with a bitter smile. Confusion was written all over her pretty face. She felt torn between

Rocky and her love for her father. This material belongs to .

In truth, Isis was not bothered by this arrangement with Rocky before. It was only after she had a talk

with her father that she realized the complications. It was only now that she realized the things that she

had to consider and the possible consequences of her actions. She was resolved not to spend her life

with another man, even after Rocky had fulfilled his dreams. Even after Rocky left her one day. She

planned to spend the rest of her life pretending to be his wife. But now, she realized, it was not that

easy. People expected something else from her and Rocky, especially her father. Everything was real

to him.

"If you have any idea, just tell me. I will cooperate with you as much as I can. That's a promise," Rocky

said sincerely. Isis had done so much for him, and he wanted to do something for her in return.

Anything to make her feel or live her life better.

Isis was speechless after she heard what Rocky said. She had an idea, but it was difficult and too

embarrassing to say.

"If there is nothing else, I will have to go now. Once you get an idea, come to me and tell me right away,

okay?" He then smiled at her and left her alone at the gate.

Isis could not help but turn around and stare at the fading figure of Rocky. Tears rolled down her

cheeks as she felt more depressed than ever.
