CHAPTER 163 A GREAT GIFT
"I have a secret letter with me. Originally, I was planning to send it to the outpost. However, it seems
that I don't have to do that now. I'll give it to you if you can let me off. With this secret letter, you can get
everything you need. Otherwise, I'll destroy it..." Rocky said to the hired spirit manipulators led by the
man with red hair. As he deliberately spoke, he drew out the last secret letter from his chest.
Hearing Rocky's words, the hired spirit manipulators' eyes all flashed, staring intently at the secret letter
in Rocky's hand. Their faces were flushed with greed.
The man with red hair gave him an evil smile and said, "That's a deal. Give me the secret letter, you
bastard, and I will give you a chance to live!"
"Done! You can send a man to take it from me. Only one is enough," Rocky replied as he stepped
back, holding up the secret letter to distance himself from the hired spirit manipulators.
"Morris, you go and take it for us. Remember! Be nice to him. Don't scare him away..." the man with red
hair said to one of his men, discretely shooting him a wink. The man, whose power was at the fifth
grade of the Mortal Stage, was so fearsome that he looked like a demon.
Realizing the real meaning of the man with red hair, Morris burst out piercing laughter. Then he walked
towards Rocky, who was still stepping back. In this way, they walked about two hundred meters in total
before Rocky stopped.
"Lad, come on! Give me the secret letter and get away!" Morris hooted.
"Alright." Rocky straightforwardly passed the secret letter to him.
Morris came very close to Rocky in a big stride and looked as though he was about to take the secret
letter from Ricky's outstretched hand. However, in a flash, his tattoo-covered arm reached out, nimbly
changed its path, and hit Rocky's chest instead.
At the moment, seeing Morris had prevailed, the other hired spirit manipulators all broke into laughter.
They believed that Rocky was doomed. However, while they were hooting with glee at the success of
their scheme, Rocky cracked a wicked grin. With the aura of his spiritual power suddenly surging high,
Rocky quickly caught Morris' arm before he realized what happened to him. Crack! It was the telltale
sign of an arm totally fracturing.
Morris couldn't help but utter a heartrending scream and clutch his arm in disbelief. Without a moment's
delay, Rocky gripped his throat and wrenched it with a little strength. As he did so, Rocky glared coldly
at the other hired spirit manipulators. The force had twisted Morris' head askew, blood spraying from
his mouth. In an instant, Morris collapsed on the ground, as dead as a doornail.
"Morris..." The other hired spirit manipulators were all stunned at the scene. How was it possible that
Morris, whose power was at the fifth grade of the Mortal Stage, had been killed with such ease!?
"You bastard, who are you?" the man with red hair questioned in astonishment. He realized that
Rocky's aura became much stronger than before.
"Follow me if you want to know the truth," Rocky said ominously, before he turned quickly away with
Uriah.
"Brother, what should we do?" The other hired spirit manipulators all looked at the man with red hair,
looking forward to his orders.
"Of course, we'll never let him off. How dare he kill Morris? We must tear him to shreds or our
reputations will be damaged!" the man with red hair bellowed, fuming with rage. He immediately rushed
in the direction Rocky had gone.
The other hired spirit manipulators also went after him.
Rocky and Uriah ran wildly the whole way until they entered a humid jungle. He had planned to trap
these hired spirit manipulators in this area.
After all, it was the place where Rocky had long since deduced to be another habitat of the Dark
Heaven Insect.
"Uriah, go distract the man with red hair with the magical saliva. Play with him and buy time. See if you
can lure a Dark Heaven Insect out. I will deal with the other men first," Rocky said to Uriah. Except for
the man with red hair, the others were no match for him. Thus, he decided to finish off them first. That
was why he needed Uriah to act as a distraction. In this way, he could concentrate on the other hired
spirit manipulators and fulfill his plan.
After giving the order to Uriah, he opened the bottle with a drop of the magical saliva and tore a strip off
his sleeve to fasten it to Uriah's leg.
Then Uriah gave a howl and ran away like the wind.
At the point, the man with red hair and the other hired spirit manipulators had arrived at the humid
jungle and just entered its first few meters. However, they couldn't find Rocky, so they had to stop and
plan out their next steps.
"Brother, the lad must want to take advantage of this place of complex topography to lose us," one of
the hired spirit manipulators said.
"That's impossible!" the man with red hair sneered and called his spirit-manipulated beast. "Go and find
the lad for me!" he roared.
Instantly, the beast walked into the humid jungle and looked carefully about, sniffing various plants and
rocks. Very soon, it roared to inform its master of the prey's direction it had sensed. And as timing
would have it, in that very direction, it just so happened that some branches and leaves gave a slight
quiver.
"Got him," the man with red hair said as he smiled nastily. Without hesitation, he ran towards the
bushes.
As the other hired spirit manipulators were about to follow him, they noticed that there was a stir in the
trees in the opposite direction.
"We should split up. Let's go to check the situation over there!" one of them yelled, gesturing
impatiently. His companions all agreed with this suggestion and ran the opposite way, in hot pursuit of
what could only be their poor victim.
In a moment, a figure suddenly showed up before them. It was Rocky.
"You bastard, you have nowhere to hide this time. You should pay with your life for your killing of
Morris!" one of the hired spirit manipulators shouted with tremendous murderous intent. He was tall and
thin, with power at the sixth grade of the Mortal Stage. Rather than waste any more time, he darted
towards Rocky with a terrifying force.
"Let's kill him!" The rest hired spirit manipulators rushed up in a crowd. It seemed as if they were going
to tear Rocky limb from limb.
Faced with the hired spirit manipulators at the Mortal Stage, Rocky suddenly grinned evilly. At that time,
the momentum of his body skyrocketed and his power at the second grade of the Earthly Stage was
demonstrated.
In the meantime, the man with red hair chased all the way, only to find just Uriah running before him.
Without seeing Rocky, he felt there was something not right. At this point, a heartrending cry came
behind him. Thus he turned around, scowling intently at the realization that the other hired spirit
manipulators hadn't followed him.
He hesitated, but he still decided to go back to find his comrades first.
However, at the moment, before he could go, the ground started shaking. It appeared that something
was about to break through the soil.
Quickly, the man with red hair noticed that the ground bulged all at once, so he stepped back
immediately. Sand and stones rushed out and clouds of ashes obscured the sky. Instantly, a giant
figure came out from the underground, with black iron carapaces, two flapping black wings and big
cyan eyes. Apparently, it was a Dark Heaven Insect.
"Is this a Dark Heaven Insect? I... I really have gotten a treasure..." The man with red hair was startled,
but soon he got enraptured with the stroke of good fortune. He knew the Dark Heaven Eggs in the Dark
Heaven Insect were rare treasures. The Dark Heaven Insect was an incredibly rare and elusive beast.
Most spirit manipulators searched for it at the Gehenna Border for years with no luck whatsoever. He
never thought that he would be so lucky to come across one by accident! He regarded it as the reward This content © 2024 .
for his good moral standing all the time.
Of course, he didn't know that in fact the Dark Heaven Insect was lured to come out by the magical
saliva carried with Uriah. Otherwise, it wouldn't have shown up.
Since the Dark Heaven Insect had now emerged, Uriah howled to inform Rocky. Its sound reverberated
in the jungle.
"Ha-ha, I'm going to be rich." The man with red hair laughed uproariously. He sensed that the Dark
Heaven Insect was just a third grade spiritual-manipulated beast of three-star level, whose power was
only equivalent to that of a spirit manipulator at the Earthly Stage. With complete confidence in his
power, he ran to attack the Dark Heaven Insect with his spirit-manipulated beast.
But the Dark Heaven Insect was only interested in the magical saliva. Seeing the man with red hair
darting wildly towards it, getting in its way, the Dark Heaven Insect flew into a wild rage and let forth a
roar filled with wrath and fury. Raising its black wings, it irritably lunged at him.
In harmony with his spirit-manipulated beast, the man with red hair quickly prevailed over the Dark
Heaven Insect and suppressed it.
At this time, Rocky had quickly gone to Uriah and untied the bottle with the magical saliva from its leg.
Once he had sealed it and put it away, he stood still, sneering and waiting for the great gift sent for him
by the man with red hair.
