CHAPTER 886 DON'T LOOK AROUND
Deeply unsettled, Alyssa quickly drew a deep breath in an attempt to calm herself. She couldn't afford a
distraction right now, not when she had found that everything had gone crazy ever since she'd met
Rocky again. She was no longer the stone-cold princess from before. There was no way to maintain
control in a situation like this one.
"Aren't you going to tell me your mental cultivation method first?" Rocky asked, looking at her straight
into the eyes. His expression was deeply grave.
"No, just... Go ahead and follow the cultivation method you've already got. I'll assist you," Alyssa
replied, somehow managing to get her wits back.
With a nod, Rocky agreed and immediately closed his eyes. Almost instantly, the Fire spiritual power in
his body began circulating. He injected it straight into the Sea Blue Magic Jade cupped in his left hand.
Now, he was connected to the jade and it began glowing in a brilliant blue light, lancing in all directions
like the scattering sunlight through ocean waters.
Alyssa watched as the blue light began to spread and quickly turned her palms over. The vine-like
spiritual mark emblazoned on her arm came to life and it began to squirm and crawl as though it were a
living being. She then pressed her palms against Rocky's chest, and he could feel the sensation of an
incredible spiritual power flowing into his body to race with his own.
But it wasn't long into the process when Alyssa found a problem from within Rocky.
'Is that...a spiritual soul? Oh my god! He's drawing the power of a spiritual soul hidden in his body! And
there is some kind of tremendous evil power that has been sealed away down there! And it's not just
that... There seems to be the power of a primordial spirit manipulator also tucked away here. How is
this even possible?! How is he able to hold onto three different incredible powers at the same time?
Only the power from the primordial spirit manipulator makes sense here... But the other two... the other
two shouldn't be in human beings at all!' She carefully schooled her face into a look of complete
indifference, as though she had found nothing whatsoever. Meditation had trained her well in
maintaining composure. But the shock to her system nevertheless caused a strong wave of energy
through Rocky, revealing the discomfort and agitation in her mind.
Had it been anyone else doing this other than Alyssa, they might never have recognized those three
powers so quickly. They might have, like Sabina, only sensed the existence of something mysterious
smoldering from within. And like Sabina, they would've never been able to discern what it truly was.
Within the spiritual soul container that held the evil power that had broken from the seal, a special
existence had nested. This spiritual soul was power in and of itself, and it had developed for the sheer
purpose of caging the evil power that lived within Rocky's body. Rocky was unable to draw from the
power of this soul itself. Unless someone was from the spiritual race themselves, no other spirit
manipulators could have sensed it. Not even if they were powerful enough to reach the Divine Stage or
well beyond that.
But Alyssa was different. She had grown up within the spiritual race itself. And more than that, she
herself held a small fragment of power that came from a spiritual soul. It nested within her the way
Rocky's rested within him. It was one of the biggest reasons that she had been so unusually powerful
at her age. And it was also what drew her to find the spiritual soul nesting inside Rocky, even if it had
been deliberately concealed from prying eyes.
Alyssa had no idea where Rocky could've gotten this spiritual soul power. When her own spiritual
power circulated and weaved through his, she determined that this power's ultimate purpose was to
hold back that evil power within him. She therefore speculated that someone in the spiritual race had
committed to an ultimate sacrifice: they had consumed their own spiritual soul in order to save Rocky
from the evil power within him. The spiritual soul itself was the source of power for the spiritual race. It
could only grow in strength as the days went by and if the person who held that soul diligently worked
on strengthening it. Should that person's spiritual soul become damaged, their manner of cultivation
would weaken along with it. But as someone of the spiritual race was willing to use their own soul to
protect Rocky, whoever it was must have found Rocky very important to them.
But in spite of all that effort, the tremendous evil power that had been sealed within Rocky still gave
Alyssa pause and a cause for concern. Judging by the aura emanating from the seal itself, she was
certain that such a seal could've only been crafted through the use of a secret skill known only to the
spiritual race. That smoldering evil power within Rocky gave off the sense that it was merely biding its
time. As though it was waiting for the opportune moment to cause the most damage possible, in spite
of the fact that all it could do now was lurk behind the seal. Alyssa couldn't even imagine how powerful
that evil power could possibly be. It was too powerful to have ever been generated by mere humans.
So lost was Alyssa in what she'd found that she suddenly realized that her spiritual sense was being
guided by an unknown force. It was almost simultaneous with the sensation of the spiritual soul's power
inside her flowing through towards Rocky.
To her amazement, her spiritual sense then followed soon after, entering Rocky's body. All she could
see now was complete pitch blackness. There was a weightless sensation of falling into an eternal pit,
causing terror to rise in her throat.
"What's going on?" Alyssa gasped. Her spiritual sense was getting towed beyond her control, getting
pulled into Rocky's body as though it had a mind of its own. It felt like hurtling down from a great height,
with a complete loss of control.
Before she could truly begin to panic, a blaze of light shone up in front of her. A brilliant figure, shining
so intensely that he might have been burning, appeared like a guiding star, reaching out to her almost
comfortingly through the darkness.
"Rocky? Is that you?" The light cleared before her eyes and she realized that it really was Rocky,
enveloped in fire.
"What are you doing in here, Alyssa?" Rocky's shining, blazing form asked. It looked like Alyssa wasn't
the only one stunned by the revelations. Rocky had found himself undergoing the same experience that owns this text.
she had. His spiritual sense was towed elsewhere into this vast darkness, as though he were driven to
it by an unknown force beyond his control.
"I...I don't know! I don't have the faintest clue of what's going on! I was just about to ask you the same
thing, and... Oh my god, just look at you!" Alyssa stammered in shock, unable to even look at him
directly now, even as her lips formed a pout.
"Hey, don't blame me for any of this. We're in the same boat here," Rocky replied, the corner of his lips
curled as he watched her.
"Look, we're both in a state formed only by our own senses. You know what I mean, right? This is what
people call that moment when one's spirit has come untethered from its body," Rocky explained simply.
"Yes, I know very well what that is," Alyssa replied with a twist in her gut. He was lying, and she knew it.
Still, the atmosphere was unbelievably strange and the air between them was an awkward one. As
though to alleviate this embarrassment, a column of brilliant blue light came blasting down from above,
covering them both in illumination. Both Rocky and Alyssa gasped as they gazed up at its incredible
radiance.
