97 - Breakdown

Goose Man shook his head, fully regaining his composure after Floran nearly melted his brain. "What's going on?" he asked in a daze.

"We're giving up, that's what's happening." Cutecumber said, swimming away. "Wait Cutecumber! We've faced much bigger foes before!" Brazilian Bug Boy shouted.

Emberlyn smirked and said, "Oh, I don't think you understand just how powerful salmon are, Brazilian Bug Boy."

"How do you know my name?" Brazilian Bug Boy asked, pointing at her. "Huh? I was just name-calling. Regardless, I will kill all of you!" Emberlyn shouted in response.

Floran looked at Lusha and said, "Thicken the air around her." Lusha laughed and replied, "We're under water. I'm basically useless here."

"Can't you manipulate the air molecules in the water or something." Floran asked. "I don't think there are any here. It seems like this pocket dimension works differently than regular water." Lusha responded.

Floran let out a sigh of frustration. "Fine. I'll do it by myself then." Floran said begrudgingly. "Don't worry, I'll help." Brazilian Bug Boy said with a smile. "At least that's something." Floran mumbled to herself.

Emberlyn spread her arms, giving them an opening. "Go ahead. It won't do anything because you can't even reach me." she said in a taunting tone.

"That doesn't mean we won't try!" Floran shouted. Floran manifested an energy sword, and both her and Brazilian Bug Boy plunged their swords into Emberlyn's chest, but just like before, it did nothing.

"Now I get to attack you." Emberlyn said before delivering a punch to each of them, sending them floating backwards.

Floran grunted from the punch and said, "This would have been a great time for you to have the wish granting microphone Brazilian Bug Boy."

Brazilian Bug Boy looked guilty. Goose Man then swam up and took out his hanger. "MASSIVE SPRAY CAN!" he yelled. His hanger then turned into a massive spray can.

Floran looked at Goose Man. "It's all his fault we're in this situation anyway. I doubt he'll be able to do anything." she muttered.

Goose Man sprayed the can at Emberlyn, and she started coughing from the spray. "What is this? *cough*" he asked.

"It's pesticide." Goose Man replied. "I'M NOT A PLANT!" Emberlyn shouted. "Doesn't matter. It worked didn't it." Goose Man taunted.

"Like hell it did!" Emberlyn shouted in response. She opened her mouth and shot a blast of energy from it. This energy his Goose Man, knocking him backwards.

"Since when could Emberlyn do that?" Floran asked. "It's obvious that this is the salmon's power, not Emberlyn's." Lusha stated. "I guess that kinda makes sense." Floran replied.

Cutecumber, who was long gone, swimming around in the pocket dimension, found a bed-and-breakfast. She swam into it and, surprisingly, there was no water in it. She walked around and there was no one there. "Oh well. Guess I have this place all to myself." she said, relaxing on one of the chairs.

Cutecumber then turned her head to see a picture of a biscuit framed to the wall. She got curious and stood back up and walked over to it. She picked it up, and behind it was a glowing green biscuit. "Woah." she said, her eyes wide in disbelief.

Floran decided to lower her arms, and her sword dissipated. "What's wrong Floran?" Brazilian Bug Boy asked. "I... I'm tired. I can't do this anymore. I want to save Emberlyn, but I just can't do this anymore." she replied, looking down with her eyes closed.

"Wait, I thought angels didn't get tired." Lusha stated. "We don't get sleepy, but we do get exhausted. I'm burned out. This story is so dumb and there's no plot. It seems like we keep running into anything and everything that will stop us from getting to the Triune." Floran responded, letting out a sigh of frustration.

Emberlyn scowled and said, "Stop having an existential crisis and fight me already!" she shouted. "How? What can I do against you? Just let Octopus Man handle this." she said, completely exhausted.

Octopus Man shrugged and said, "I would, but Kookakoo could wake up any moment now."

Floran scowled in rage and yelled, "HOW! SHE WAS ERASED FROM NONEXISTENCE FOR GOD SAKE!"

There was a deafening silence. Everyone stared at Floran with shocked expressions.

"Yoo hoo. I'm back." Cutecumber said, swimming up to them, holding the green biscuit in her hand. "I thought this could heal Kookakoo" she added before tossing it to Octopus Man.

"Ah perfect!" Octopus Man said, stuffing it in Kookakoo's mouth. Kookakoo's eyes opened and she happily chewed on it before swallowing it. "Delicious." she said with a satisfied grin.

"See Floran, told you." Octopus Man said with a smirk. Floran facepalmed.

"So let me guess, that biscuit was infused with some immense radioactive energy right!" Cutecumber asked with a big smile on her face. "No, it was just really moldy, but a biscuit's a biscuit." Octopus Man replied.

"THEN WHY DIDN'T YOU JUST GIVE... AAAH!" Floran yelled, gripping her pink hair tightly. "THAT'S IT! THERE ARE NO STAKES! I BET I COULD JUST WISH REALLY HARD FOR EMBERLYN TO COME BACK AND SHE WOULD!" she screamed.

The pocket dimension about them then disappeared. They were now standing back in the shallow end of the Silver Lakes that they were in before. The salmon exploded and Emberlyn stood up from the water, holding her head. "What just happened?" she said to herself, her voice back to normal.

Floran stood there with a blank expression. "So... me saying that literally woke her up like it was nothing." she said in a monotone, yet furious tone.

"No Floran. Don't be ridiculous. When you were having your little mental breakdown, I snuck behind the mind-controlled Emberlyn, and stuck a button on her back that said, "Return to normal."

"I WAS MIND CONTROLLED?" Emberlyn shouted in fear.

Floran itched her arm in frustration. "THAT MAKES EVEN LESS SENSE!" she exclaimed.

Lusha giggled and pats Floran on the shoulder before saying, "You've been having mental breakdowns recently huh?" Floran pushed her hand away and said, "Shut up!"

Boomerang, who was mind controlled, then stood up, and also spoke in a demonic tone, saying, "I will kill you all!"

Floran angrily gripped the bridge of her nose and said, "This is what I'm talking about. The author won't just let us get to the Triune. It can never be that easy!"

With a finger to her head, she curled a lock of her emerald green hair. "They're on to me... It can't be that obvious." She put her pencil back to paper.

Suddenly, the salmon exploded, and Boomerang's eyes went back to normal. He looked around, and said, "Huh? What happened?"

Floran started stepping away. "You can hear me can't you." she called out. "Floran's going insane again." Kookakoo said with a giggle.

Floran gave her one of her usual death stares.

Octopus Man gave Kookakoo a hug and said, "I missed your insults to Floran." Kookakoo giggled and said, "Don't worry, I won't die again. I learned that dying is cringe."

Brazilian Bug Boy put his hands on his hips and said, "It's a happy ending. Let's get back onto Boomerang. Our next stop is the Triune."

Octopus Man pulled out his map, the distance from the Silver Lakes and the area where the Triune were seemed much larger than before. "Hmm... oh well it's probably nothing. Let's get going guys." he said, climbing onto Boomerang.

Emberlyn happily climbed up, not afraid to burn Boomerang anymore. "I can't believe that I'm actually finally free from my flames." she said to herself.

"Hold on. you're still going to follow us?" Lusha asked. "Well yeah. I wanna see how this ends." Emberlyn replied with a smile. Lusha nodded with her usual smirk and said, "I like that spirit!"

They all climbed on top of Boomerang except for Floran. "Come on Floran!" Goose Man yelled. "Yeah, what's wrong, having another breakdown?" Cutecumber teased.

Floran looked to the ground. "Who are you..." she said to herself before finally climbing on top of Boomerang.
