119 - The Greatest Plan To Ever Be Conceived

Kookakoo stared out a window of the haunted house to see that there was no ground, just an endless night sky. As Octopus Man also looked out, he asked, "What is it with these endless abysses?"

"Probably just a coincidence." Kookakoo replied.

"WE'RE GONNA BE STUCK IN HERE FOREVER AREN'T WE?" Acty cried, covering his head. A zombie then turned the corner of the haunted house, and slowly approached them. "A ZOMBIE!" Acty yelled, pointing at it.

Kookakoo threw a cactus at the zombie, killing it instantly. "Good job Kookakoo!" Octopus Man said, giving her a high five.

Kate started walking around, and accidentally stepped on a trap. A hole opened up beneath her, and she fell into it. "Woop." she said as she fell.

Octopus Man, Kookakoo, and Acty all gasped and ran over to the hole. When they looked down they saw a spike pit, and Kate, who just so happened to fall in such a way that no spike impaled her. "I do not wish to be a bother, but could I have some assistance." she said in a considerate tone.

Octopus Man used the handy elevator the haunted house had installed to go down to the spike pit. "Come on in." he said with a wave. Kate stood up, and stepped around the spikes, getting into the elevator.

Once the elevator arrived at the main level again, Acty ran up to Octopus Man and asked, "Can that elevator get us to the bottom level?" Octopus Man looked behind him and said, "Huh? What elevator?" The elevator had disappeared.

Acty looked around everywhere. "WHAT JUST HAPPENED TO IT?" he shouted in confusion. "Kookakoo, do you remember an elevator?" Octopus Man asked. "Nope." she replied.

"WHAT ABOUT YOU?” Acty yelled, pointing at Kate. She scratched her cheek while thinking and replied, "I don't recall."

"UUUGGGHH!" Acty screamed. "Dude, you're looking into this one-off joke way too much. Let's just move on." Octopus Man said. "Yeah, you're right." Acty responded.

Octopus Man then clenched his fist heroically and said, "And besides. Our group is counting on us!"

"We literally can never count on Octopus Man for anything." Floran mumbled, still throwing energy beams at TRIUNE. "Are these beams even doing anything?" Nalay asked. "No, but what else are we supposed to do?" Floran replied.

Nalay smirked and said, "You should be the main character remember? I told you that you could possibly continue the story by doing that."

"How would I even do that?" Floran asked in an exasperated tone. "Just pray really hard to God." Nalay said. "I'm an angel. I'm literally divine intervention. And besides, you're a demon. How can you talk?" Floran replied, poking holes in her sister's logic.

"Well, pray to the devil then." Nalay stated with a slight shrug. "The Devil and the demon king have both been killed throughout the course of this story. I know we're inconsistent, but we aren't that inconsistent." Floran responded.

Love this novel? Read it on Royal Road to ensure the author gets credit.

"I don't know. Just pray to yourself or something." Nalay said, throwing her arms up. "What is it with you and praying." Floran asked, her eyes narrowed.

Emberlyn walked up and said, "I think we need to understand why the main character even exists. Who dictates who the main character is?" Floran thought for a second and replied, "I don't know, the writer?"

During this conversation, TRIUNE's beams blasted all over the place, but three of them weren't paying attention.

"WE PLAY SO LITTLE IMPORTANCE IN THIS STORY IT'S CRAZY!" Florbus yelled. "It's for the best." Kiaqua replied bluntly. "And what about me huh?" U-VOL shouted. "I want some lines." she concluded as she continued throwing her pens.

As Floran continued to think about how their world was dictated by the author, she had an idea. "THAT'S IT!" she said to herself. "What's it?" Emberlyn asked.

Floran leaned over the railing and yelled down, screaming, "I QUIT! WE'RE DONE HERE!"

The sword wielders looked up in confusion, as did everyone else on the top row. Even TRIUNE looked up in confusion.

She clicked her tongue in frustration. She thought she had dumbed down the story enough for Floran to be oblivious again, but the damaged she did had already taken its course.

"Floran, what are you doing?" Nalay asked. Floran turned to Nalay and said, "Just follow my lead alright." Nalay stared at Floran for a few seconds, but ended up nodding in agreement. "Yeah, I guess we do quit." Nalay said, not really knowing what Floran's plan was.

"I think they are planning something guys." Brazilian Bug Boy said to the other sword wielders, right before dropping Ocean, who he was still using as a human shield.

Cutecumber dropped her cucumber sword and stated the same thing, as did Brazilian Bug Boy and Shoobeeshwas. Rit looked confused, but shook her head. "Whatever. I quit too." she stated.

Florbus spread out his arms and yelled, "WHAT? WHY?" U-VOL, Sir Seepage III, and Gastronimus, however, went along and ceased their attacks on TRIUNE.

"WHAT?" Florbus shouted. "Just go along with whatever this is." Kiaqua said. Florbus turned to Kiaqua in utter disbelief, but knowing how many people had already "quit", he conceded.

Ofor and Astra lowered their guns, while Goose Man reverted the turret back into his hanger.

Chess Hat Pennsylvanian Cape Man lowered his pencil and stopped altering the story.

Mr. Fluffypants looked at The Number 7. "What are they doing?" he asked. This turn of events was so perplexing, not even 7 had an answer.

"YEAH! WE QUIT! WE GIVE UP!" Floran continued yelling. TRIUNE looked around, utterly confused.

Lusha looked up at Boomerang and gave him a nod. Boomerang nodded back and reverted to his normal form.

"What's her plan?" Pepperoni thought to himself.

"Did someone say giving up?" Malum asked, waking up again.

"WE GIVE UP! WE GIVE UP!" Floran chanted. Nalay shrugged, and started chanting as well. Emberlyn had a smile on her face and also chanted. The entire group soon followed suit.

The rage was evident on her face. How could this be happening. Even when the story was at the lowest possible story density it could be at, the characters found away to make it come to a halt. Knowing she had to do something quick, she reluctantly used her eraser once more.

In the haunted house, a crack started to form on one of the walls. "A PORTAL TO BISCUITS PERHAPS!" Octopus Man shouted. Kookakoo immediately started praying. "Please let it be biscuits." she whispered to herself.

"It's obviously a weakening in the wall that has nothing to do with biscuits." Acty said, knocking on it.

"If I may asked, how are we supposed to get through this crack?" Kate asked, raising her hand politely. "WE USE YOUR CAR!" Octopus Man shouted, pointing at the car.

"Hooray! I love driving." she stated, hoping in the driver's seat. Acty reluctantly opened the door to the passenger's side. "Oh, I apologize, but the passenger's side is for my stash of money that I win for every race is come first place in." Kate stated.

Acty was flabbergasted when he saw the entire passenger's side was filled with stacks of hundred dollar bills.

Octopus Man and Kookakoo both got in the backside of the vehicle, followed by Acty. Kate stepped on the gas, and broke right through the wall.

A rift appeared in the cathedral, and out from it came Kate's car, crushing Florbus.

"AAH! GET IT OFF!" Florbus cried.
