3 - Bright and Sunny

3 - Bright and Sunny

John loved walking down the street for absolutely no reason. It was something he did to clear his mind, but on this particular day, as he strolled aimlessly down the street, he noticed something rather strange—the sun seemed unusually hot, its rays scorching the pavement.

John continued walking down the street for at least 10 more years, until he finally had enough of the heat. Just as he was about to head home, he came across a familiar face. It was Kookakoo, the same girl he had met ten years ago, or maybe it had only been yesterday. It's not like the passage of time really means anything to fictional characters.

He greeted her with a friendly smile and asked, "Hey there, Kookakoo. Do you happen to know why the sun is so hot today?"

Kookakoo scratched her head, "I'm not sure, I'm not much of a meteorologist. Maybe it's just one of those days." John shrugged, accepting her answer with a nod. "Fair enough. I guess some mysteries are better left unsolved."

As John and Kookakoo continued their conversation on that scorching day, a secret weighed on Kookakoo's mind. She couldn't keep it to herself any longer. She secretly knew the truth about the hot sun.

Kookakoo sighed "Listen, I actually do know why the sun is so hot. It's not a normal phenomenon. The sun has been taken over by a celestial being known as Bright and Sunny, but you can't tell anyone I told you, I promised the court of suns to not say anything."

John raised an eyebrow. "Bright and Sunny? Who or what is that?" He doesn't seem to care that Kookakoo was somehow part of the sun council.

Kookakoo began to explain, "Bright and Sunny is a massive sun-like celestial being with a perpetual smiley face. He has taken control of the sun itself, making it hotter than ever before. In fact, Bright and Sunny's core temperature is estimated to be at least 2 trillion degrees Celsius!"

John's eyes widened. "2 trillion degrees? That's insane! We have to do something about this."

Suddenly, John's form began to transform. His red blanket cape was now around his shoulders, and his plush octopus was on his head. He had once again become Octopus Man.

Octopus Man, now in his superhero attire, turned to Kookakoo with a serious expression. "Kookakoo, we can't let Bright and Sunny's takeover of the sun continue. It's causing unbearable heat and harm to our world. We need to fly up there and defeat him."

Kookakoo nodded with determination. The two of them took off to space to reach the sun which had now been taken over by the smiling celestial body. Octopus Man and Kookakoo soared through the vastness of space to reach the sun-like celestial being, Bright and Sunny.

As they neared the sun-like being, Kookakoo prepared to shout a math equation, the very equation that could trigger her explosive powers and potentially destroy Bright and Sunny. But just as Kookakoo was about to unleash her mathematical powers, she gasped, as she couldn't believe what she saw. There, hurtling through the vacuum of space, was a horse of all things. Its very existence disrupted her powers.

Octopus Man, noticing Kookakoo had been weakened, yelled out, "No! Not again!"

Octopus Man decided to take matters into his own hands. He concentrated all his energy into a powerful burst, a swirling vortex of pure energy that he launched toward the horse. The force of the energy burst collided with the horse, causing it to explode into a shower of stardust.

Kookakoo, no longer hindered by the presence of the horse, shouted, "10 + 10 = 20!" The equation resonated with her unique powers, and an explosion erupted from her, streaking towards Bright and Sunny.

Bright and Sunny rumbled as the explosion struck him, causing him to flicker with discomfort. It seemed that Kookakoo's powers were having an effect, albeit a small one.

But then, to their astonishment, Bright and Sunny's smile grew wider, and he chuckled menacingly. "You fool! Explosions give me power!" he declared. John was shocked. "It can talk to?" he asked rhetorically.

Octopus Man and Kookakoo exchanged confused glances. It didn't make sense. Bright and Sunny had claimed that explosions empowered him, but he had just been hurt by Kookakoo's mathematical blast.

Bright and Sunny continued, his voice now dripping with malice, "Now, I shall repay you for your feeble attempts to destroy me. I will melt you both!"

With that declaration, Bright and Sunny's radiant heat intensified. As Bright and Sunny intensified his scorching heat, Octopus Man felt the waves of searing energy wash over him. But unlike a normal human, Octopus Man's physiology was far from ordinary. His unique brain provided him with an incredible ability: heat resistance.

As the heat bore down upon him, Octopus Man's brain activated its protective mechanisms. At that moment, the intense heat merely washed over him harmlessly, leaving him unscathed. Kookakoo however was taking a lot of damage due to the heat.

Octopus Man took a deep breath and shot toward Bright and Sunny like a meteor. He slammed into the celestial being with a resounding impact. Octopus Man began delivering rapid and powerful punches, targeting Bright and Sunny's core organs.

Bright and Sunny was caught off guard and he cried out in pain. The being of scorching heat was no match for Octopus Man now that he resisted heat.

"You think you can just burn the Earth?" Octopus Man shouted between punches. "Not on my watch!"

Bright and Sunny, terrified by Octopus Man's unrelenting attack, could feel his control over the sun weakening. He realized he had underestimated the strength of Octopus Man.

With one final punch, Octopus Man delivered a finishing blow to Bright and Sunny's core. The celestial being let out a deafening cry as he exploded, dissipating into the void of space.

Octopus Man emerged from the explosion, victorious. Kookakoo, witnessing the incredible battle and Octopus Man's victory, couldn't help but cheer. "You did it, Octopus Man! But... I STILL DIDN'T GET TO DO ANYTHING!" She starts crying due to the horses that always seem to weaken her.

Before Octopus Man could respond, he started shivering. The sky had grown darker, and the world around them began to feel colder by the second. Destroying Bright and Sunny also destroyed the sun itself

Kookakoo shivered as well, her breath forming frosty clouds.. "Octopus Man, do you feel that? It's getting so cold, and the sun is gone!"

Octopus Man realized what he had just done. "Well," he said with a sigh, "I guess you can't win 'em all."

And so, Octopus Man and Kookakoo, the unluckiest heroes, found themselves facing yet another bizarre and unpredictable twist in their journey.

"Hey, stop wrapping up the story!" Kookakoo yelled. "We can't just leave Earth frozen."

Octopus Man sighed. "Ok whatever, I'll reverse time and use my convenient 'return the sun back to normal' ability I have."

Kookakoo looked frustrated. "YOU HAD THAT THE ENTIRE TI..." but before she could finish her sentence, Octopus Man reversed time and stopped the event from happening in the first place.

John and Kookakoo were now standing on the street they were talking on at the beginning. She crossed her arms with an unamused expression on her face. "You do realize I still remember what happened right?" she said while looking at him.

John assumed she was going to be mad, however, it was quite the opposite. Kookakoo's eyes suddenly light up. "PLEASE TEACH ME HOW TO DO IT! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!" she begged.

John felt like a teacher at that moment. He placed his hand on her shoulder, and he had a reassuring smile on his face. "No."
