40 - The Center of the World Riff

Princess Zara Al-Fihri led the group to the back of the capital building. As they were walking through a long hallway, Octopus Man and Kookakoo were covered in bandages.

"You didn't have to hit us so hard." Octopus Man said rubbing his head. Floran sighed and responded, "You two never learn. I had to teach you something."

Kookakoo clenched her fists and shouted, "Not true! Just the other day I learned how to summon demons." She then raised her hands and a pentagram appeared on the ground.

A disgusting, red, blob-like creature came out of the pentagram. It had eyes all over its body, and Floran took a step backwards in fear. She stretched out her hand and shot it with a beam of energy.

The blob screamed and exploded. Kookakoo pouted and said, "Why did you do that for?" Floran decided not to engage in this conversation anymore and she turned back around. She then stopped when she realized everyone else went along without them.

Floran facepalmed and turned back around to face Octopus Man and Kookakoo. "Thanks to you two, we have been left behind."

Octopus Man shrugged and said, "Don't worry. They probably went in that room right there." He pointed to a door just a few inches away.

Floran stepped up to the door, and when she opened it, a Jaguar jumped out and attacked her. Floran covered her face as the jaguar attempted to bite her head.

Floran's fists started glowing with blue energy, but Octopus Man and Kookakoo shouted, "NO! DON'T KILL THE KITTY!"

Floran sighed and kicked the jaguar off of her, sending it flying back into the room. She then quickly locked the door.

Octopus Man then smacked Kookakoo on the head and said, "How dare you tell Floran to open that door! For shame." Kookakoo gasped at being blamed. "You're gonna pay for blaming me." she said as she took the octopus plush of his head.

"HEY GIVE THAT BACK!" Octopus Man shouted. Kookakoo started running with it. "Can't catch me." she taunted.

Kookakoo ran around a corner and somehow found herself in a dark alleyway. From the shadows, Octopus Man walked out with a cigar in his mouth. "So, you thought you could pull a fast one on me ey?" he asked rhetorically.

Kookakoo's eyes narrowed. She took a few steps backwards before saying, "Your time is up. I've been working as a secret agent this whole time."

Octopus Man smirked and pulled out a switchblade. "Just give me the goods and this'll all be over." Kookakoo held the plush hat close to her and yelled, "NEVER!"

Floran pulled them out of the alleyway and back into the hallway of the capital building. "Stop setting up dramatic movie scenes and help me find the rest!" she shouted.

Octopus Man and Kookakoo sighed. "Fine." they said sadly. When Floran turned back around, Octopus Man quickly snatched the plush back from Kookakoo and placed it on his head. "Much better." he said with a sigh of relief.

Meanwhile, the others were still following the princess, not noticing they had left three of them behind. "So, what riff to we have to play on the guitar?" Brazilian Bug Boy asked.

"Depends on where you want to go. In your case, you want to go to the center of reality, so you have to play the center of reality song." Zara replied.

Brazilian Bug Boy scratched his head in confusion. Lusha looked at his confusion and smirked. "Don't tell me you've never heard the center of reality song." she said with a chuckle.

"Sorry, but I just haven't." Brazilian Bug Boy replied. Zara sighed and said, "Lola, play the center of reality song."

Lola nodded. "Yes your highness." she responded. She opened her mouth and the riff to the center of reality song began playing. The song was just 2 notes played around 10 times.

When the song finished, Lola closed her mouth. "Sounds easy enough." Brazilian Bug Boy said with a smile. They stopped when they faced a large door, and when the door opened, they saw a massive guitar that reached up to the ceiling. "Yes, but you need to find out which note was being played." Zara stated bluntly.

Brazilian Bug Boy's jaw dropped. "How are we supposed to find the exact note? That thing is huge!" he shouted. Zara shrugged and said, "Not my problem. This is where you need to figure it out yourself." With that, she walked out of the room. She turned around before the door closed and said, "You may use Lola to help you." The door then shut with a loud thud.

Brazilian Bug Boy, Cutecumber, Emberlyn and Lusha walked up to the guitar. Cutecumber spoke up and said, "The notes both sounded like high frets, so you'll have to fly to get to them."

Brazilian Bug Boy nodded. He spread his wings and said, "Ok. I guess me and Floran have to do this since we have wings." He turned around only to see that Floran was missing. "Wait where is she?" he asked.

They all turned around, noticing that not only Floran was missing, but also Octopus Man and Kookakoo. Brazilian Bug Boy looked worried. "Floran is the only person who can fly besides me, and she is missing." he said loudly.

Lusha took out a tablet and pulled up the Octopus Man webnovel. "No, Octopus Man flew in chapter 1. Him and Kookakoo both flew in chapter 3 as well."

"Well great. Neither of them are here either!" Brazilian Bug Boy shouted in response. "They are in hallway 2-B" Lola said in a monotone voice.

"Wait, how do you know?" Emberlyn asked quietly. "I have synced to the cameras of this building. I can see them there. We should wait for them to find their way." Lola replied.

Emberlyn nodded. "Yeah, you're right. They always know what do to."

"I literally have no idea what to do." Octopus Man said in a complaining voice. "This place looks so small on the outside, but it's massive on the inside." he concluded.

"Yeah. For once I agree with you." Floran said. They turned a corner and there was another mysterious door. Octopus Man and Kokakoo stared at her, waiting for her to open it.

Floran turned around and raised her hands defensively. "No! Not again. I'm not opening another door." she said angrily.

"Pretty please!" Octopus Man and Kookakoo begged. "NO!" Floran yelled.

"Don't make me mind control you!" Octopus Man threatened. "Wait, what, you can do that?" Floran said confused. "Whatever. Fine I'll open it. But if a giant monster comes out, I'm running." she concluded with a sigh.

Floran cautiously reached her hand out to the doorknob. Octopus Man and Kookakoo watched in suspense. When she finally opened it, it was an empty room with a sign that read, "Empty Room."

Floran's eyes narrowed, and she turned around. "I'm tired of this." she mumbled to herself.
