13 - Immovable Object

The feeling of being watched fell upon the group. Cutecumber unsheathed her cucumber sword. "I sense someone watching us." she stated with a serious expression. Octopus Man gasped. "It's probably the IRS. They've finally caught up to me."

Kookakoo then grabbed Octopus Man's arms and handcuffed him. "You're under arrest for tax evasion!" she declared. "I was working for the IRS this whole time."

Octopus Man grinned. "Oh, you've got me," he said, before ripping his own arms off to free himself. His arms then regrew and Kookakoo was trembling in fear.

Octopus Man delivered a quick and powerful kick, sending Kookakoo soaring through the atmosphere and straight to the moon. Moments later, she returned with a bandage on her head. "Sorry about that, Octopus Man. I'll stop working for the IRS." she apologized.

Octopus Man sighed, shaking his head. "You are a traitor!" he yelled. Kookakoo ran off and quickly came back with a steaming pile of biscuits. "Here, take this as an apology." she said. Before she could even hand over the plate the biscuits had already been inhaled by Octopus Man. "Okay, I forgive you." he said calmly.

Floran pushed Octopus Man and Kookakoo to the floor. "Stop joking around. There is someone in that conveniently placed bush over there." she stated. Sure enough, there was a bush that someone was obviously using as a hiding spot.

Cutecumber approached it cautiously, her cucumber sword raised and ready. With a powerful swing, she chopped the bush into pieces. However, there was no one inside.

Floran looked confused, but she quickly regained her composure. "Whatever, I guess I was wrong. Let's just keep going and stop wasting time."

As the group continued, little did they know that the stalker was hiding in a bush just 2 inches away from the one Cutecumber had destroyed. The stalker sighed in relief and continued following them.

Roughly 30 minutes later, their voyage became more and more boring. Kookakoo, confused by the lack of enemies, questioned, "Why haven't we been attacked recently?"

Octopus Man laughed and responded, "Oh, that's because I'm riding a hippopotamus. They're probably too scared to approach us."

Cutecumber responded, "Wait, what? You're not riding a hippopotamus!" As she turned to face him, Octopus Man was indeed riding a hippopotamus.

This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience.

Cutecumber, now irritated by the absurdity, kicked the hippopotamus to the sun. This made Octopus Man upset, and he exclaimed, "Now you've doomed us!" Just then a powerful being crashed to the ground, creating a massive crater and sending chunks of the ground flying everywhere.

As they shielded themselves from the dust and debris, Octopus Man turned to Cutecumber and remarked, "See? I told you that you've doomed us."

As the dust settled, the being standing in the center of the crater was revealed to be Lya. With her on her chest she introduced herself. "I am Lya. Leader of ASS."

Cutecumber, fueled by pure anger and vengeance, held her cucumber sword with all her strength and shouted, "YOU! You're the reason people who wear squishy socks live in fear!" The determination in her voice was evident and she charged towards Lya with all her speed.

However, Lya simply pointed down, and as if an invisible force had struck her, Cutecumber fell to the ground, unable to stand. Lya smirked. Just her presence was enough to make almost anyone feel weak in comparison.

Kookakoo stepped forward, ready to unleash a math equation, but before she could even speak, Lya snapped her fingers. The snap caused a shockwave, and in an instant, Kookakoo was obliterated into dust. Cutecumber and Floran stared in shock and horror at what had just happened.

Octopus Man laughed. "Don't worry. I'm a Kookakoo manufacturing company." Kookakoo then casually walked out of Octopus Man's mouth, as if nothing had happened. She looked around and fell to her knees. "I HAVE BEEN DEFEATED!" she yelled.

Floran sighed as she summoned her energy spikes that erupt from the ground, attempting to strike at Lya. However, the spikes couldn't even pierce through Lya's clothes. Lya smiled arrogantly and explained "My body contains so much power that even my clothes cannot be damaged in any way." With a quick teleportation, she appeared right in front of Floran, effortlessly lifting her up by the face.

"You've killed the agents of ASS, and now you will pay," Lya declared with a menacing grin, her grip tightening on Floran's face.

Octopus Man quickly charged at Lya and sent her flying into an office room. The abrupt movement caused her to release Floran. She found herself in an ordinary workspace. Octopus Man, now facing Lya in the office, raised an eyebrow and asked, "Why did you apply for a job as a crane driver?"

Lya sighed and replied, "I just really need a job that'll help me pay the bills." However, she quickly snapped back to reality. "Wait a minute, what the hell?" she exclaimed, delivering a powerful punch that sent Octopus Man flying back, landing him once again in the Fiji Islands.

Octopus Man dusts off his clothes and then looks up at her. "You've made me mad!" In a fit of frustration, he multiplied himself 4,000 times, creating an army of Octopus Men. The overwhelming force of the cloned punches bombarded Lya, causing her to fall backwards as she tried to block the punches.

Lya, now angry, unleashed a powerful stomp that sent shockwaves through the ground. The force was so intense that it disintegrated all 4,000 clones.

Kookakoo ran up to Octopus Man and shook him, asking urgently, "What are we gonna do now?" Octopus Man, with a smirk, simply replied, "We'll figure that out in the next chapter."
