Burning Revenge
74: I have become stronger!

74: I have become stronger!

For a few minutes, the two had been engaged in a spectacular fight.

Both were on the same level.

Fetu had years of experience fighting with any kind of weapon he could create with his Nyd.

Kawao, on the other hand, fought with the rod as if it were a shorter spear.

He also had years of experience and training with that weapon.

Thus, neither gave an inch.

Even if they managed to hit each other now and then, they didn’t waver.

The first to give up loses!

Both were aware of that.

But just as Kawao thought he couldn’t hold on any longer, he saw an opportunity.

He seized it instantly and delivered a solid blow to Fetu’s ribs.

You could even hear them crack slightly.

Fetu screamed in pain.

Kawao used this to land a powerful jab to his stomach with the rod.

With this, he managed to knock Fetu to the ground.

But instead of jumping back up immediately, Fetu clutched his stomach and started to vomit.

Kawao sprinted to take advantage of his moment of weakness but then paused for a moment.

For a brief moment, he felt pity for his opponent.

He remembered how, during his training as a hunter, he was in a similar situation.

A tiger had broken his ribs, and shortly afterward, he had fallen down a small cliff.

The tiger fortunately left him alone, but he remembered lying on the ground just like Fetu now, literally throwing up his will to live.

But that brief moment of pity was a huge mistake.

Fetu was only pretending to be in agony.

He used the moment to control the flames from the explosion that were now slowly burning down the tavern with a wave of his hand.

Suddenly, the flames coalesced into spears that shot across the room like snakes and darted at Kawao.

He couldn’t defend himself in time and was hit by them with full force.

But instead of dissipating, they kept pressing against him.

So much so that he was hurled through one of the walls.

But as if that wasn’t bad enough, the flames kept pushing him.

Through the second wall, the third, and only at the fourth did they relent, causing him not to break through it but leaving him with a strong impact nonetheless.

With a dull thud, he fell into a rundown alley.

He could hardly believe that this attack had actually thrown him through an entire building and the wall of the tavern.

Hesitantly, he tried to get up again, but with little success.

Suddenly, he heard slow clapping.

He looked around.

Fetu stood a few meters in front of him, slowly approaching while clapping sarcastically.

How could he be walking so easily?

“You really entertained me!” he began.

“Oh! Are you wondering why I’m still so fit? Well, even though your attacks packed a punch, I’ve had to endure much more over the years. Be it from criminals like you or from my dear and friendly comrades in the army! If I were to go down from that, I would never have been able to act as the commander of the 5th unit, you know? But at least it makes sense that you killed Paikon.”

“Do you think so? You’re pretty tough! But the fight with you has also made it clear to me that I’ve become stronger from the fight with Paikon. If I can still manage it, I’ll try to use the same technique I almost won with against him! Only this time… I’m going all out!”
