Sid appeared with two men, who were likely to be their trainers.
"Not bad. But that’s the bare minimum I’d expect from you—and especially from you, Kawao!"
With a wave of his hand, he motioned for the others to leave the room.
After a brief hesitation, they did so.
Some looked back at the two with disbelief, deciding to linger by the door to see what would happen next.
After a moment, Sid spoke again:
"Alright! I already have something in mind to start with. In this exercise, you’ll train your Nyd together. Your trainers have brought several small stones," he explained, pointing to the two men behind him.
Each trainer carried two sacks filled with small stones.
"Koru, your task is to enlarge the stones mid-flight as much as possible, and Kawao, you’re to smash them before they hit the ground."
"Isn’t that a bit dangerous?" Koru asked, unsure whether this would actually work.

"If you want to increase your power, you have to be willing to use more extreme methods! Try it a few times, and then we’ll see how it goes."
He smiled at them and stepped back, while the trainers approached Koru, placing the stones at his feet.
The two exchanged a slightly uncertain glance but decided to give it a real try.
Koru picked up one of the stones and tossed it in a high arc toward Kawao.
A moment later, he enlarged the stone, turning it into a large boulder.
Kawao quickly gathered energy, and just before the boulder reached him, he struck it.
With a massive crack, it shattered into pieces that landed around him on the ground.
Sid smiled slightly and approached them again.
"Yes, that’s roughly how it should go. This will be your training for the next few days. Your trainers will add new requirements after a while, such as having Koru throw the stones not only at Kawao but in different directions so he’ll have to move more. But for now, keep going like this! I need to get back to other matters. If you need anything, ask your trainers. Otherwise, I’ll see you when your assignments are ready!"
With this final instruction, he left.
As he walked out, he saw the other rebels watching the training in disbelief, realizing this was a whole different league from what they were used to.

Around noon, Jack left the city with her 13th Unit.
Her unit was to head to Karuni, Kurani’s twin city.
Since her departure, the city had reportedly become a frequent target of minor pirate raids.
She and her unit were tasked with restoring peace and security there.
Six commanders who have yet to receive orders remained in Kurani.
