Burning Revenge
18: Doorbreaker

18: Doorbreaker

Suddenly, the man stretched out his hand and shot a fireball in his direction. Kawao barely managed to dodge it.

But as he was about to counterattack, his opponent fled through a side door, which he immediately locked.

"Good luck getting through here! Even a cannon couldn't break this door down!" he called back and ran off.

,Who the hell was that?´ Kawao wondered.

,It's clear that he's in cahoots with the pirate leader. So, no matter what he's planning, I have to stop him!´

He sprinted to the door and tried to push it open. It didn't budge. The man was right. It was very strong!

He gathered more strength and pushed harder. But nothing moved. Then he stepped back a few paces.

"If the door can't be broken down by a cannon..."

He took a deep breath.

"Then I just need to break it down with more force than a cannon!"

He concentrated and gathered as much strength as possible.

If he attacked now, he wouldn't be able to move as well afterward. But he had been recovering faster than usual lately. On his way here, he had regained feeling in his arms and legs!

He charged forward. With a tremendous crash, he struck the door, which finally flew off its hinges. Shortly afterward, he clutched his fist.

"OW! That hurts!" he complained before following the corridor behind the door.

He was exhausted again.

,Hopefully, I have enough strength left to defeat him!´

At the end of the corridor was another door, but this one was open.

He stepped through and was shocked by what he saw.

In front of him, in a large hall, was a huge vehicle. It moved on two tracks and had a large, long cannon barrel from which it could fire. A tank stood before him. He had never seen anything like it before.

Suddenly, he heard voices.

"Hey! How much longer? Is the tank ready?" called the man who had just fled from him.

"Yeah, yeah. Almost! Why are you in such a hurry?" answered someone he couldn't see.

"Because someone from the Kasakan army is already here!"

"What, already? Are you sure you're not hallucinating?"

"Of course not! I locked him in the research lab. But we should still hurry!"

"Is that him?"

"Huh?"

He turned around and paled.

"How did you get through the door?"
