The fight against Paikon had become significantly harder since Kawao had brought him into the air.
It was foolish to think it would be better for the ship.
His flame whips were now setting the sails and ropes on fire.
Moreover, he was much more agile than before.
Kawao could no longer dodge every attack.
And the hits hurt a lot.
If he hadn't been enhancing himself with energy, one or two blows would have been enough to knock him out.
'If this goes on much longer, I'll be done for!'
Suddenly, he felt something on his skin.
What was that?
Water?
Rain!
It started to rain slowly.
They paused their fight briefly.
Paikon noticed that the rain slightly weakened his powers.
But that didn't seem to bother him much.
If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
More importantly, the rain was slowly putting out the fires that were destroying the ship.
That calmed him.
But this brief moment of distraction cost him dearly.
Paikon took advantage and whipped him full force in the face, sending him flying back to the deck.
"OUCH!" Kawao screamed, holding his left cheek.
He slowly got up, careful not to slip on the wet floor.
He looked at his hand.
It was covered in blood.
But at least he didn't feel a hole in his cheek.
That reassured him a bit.
With a thud, Paikon landed nearby.
"You need to be more careful if you're going to mess with me!"
They glared at each other with rage.
Both were pretty out of breath.
The fight would soon come to an end.
"You're right! I should be more careful when fighting a brainless gorilla who nearly burns down his own ship!" he retorted.
That seemed to have triggered something in Paikon.
"I'LL SHOW YOU WHO'S A GORILLA, YOU ROOKIE!"
He charged at him, smashing pieces of the floor with every step.
Kawao prepared to dodge.
But at the same moment he jumped, a large piece of wood broke from the floor, hitting Paikon full force in the stomach and sending him into the air as well.
Kawao quickly looked down.
Through the hole, he could briefly see Koru, who smiled at him tiredly.
He nodded to him and refocused on Paikon.
Paikon seemed momentarily dazed by the surprise attack.
'Now or never!'
He gathered all his energy in his fist as he wound up.
As he struck, he felt for a moment that his arm would tear apart.
But he ignored it and hit him with full force in the stomach again.
"UUURGH!"
'I have to get him far enough away from the ship!'
He followed through with the punch as far as possible, sending him flying off the ship with tremendous force.
The resulting shock wave knocked all the soldiers on deck off their feet.
Paikon flew so far so quickly that it was impossible to see where he landed on the water.
But he was definitely far enough from the ship not to return.
His arm was numb and his face burned.
He would have loved to just let himself fall back, but he knew the fight wasn't over yet.
