Kawao and Koru woke up early.
They were a bit excited for the training that would start today, which was meant to make them stronger.
After a decent breakfast, they were led to a large room filled with various training equipment, where a few people were already working out.
"Your trainers will be here soon. Take a look around," said the two who had brought them, before leaving the pair on their own.
Without hesitation, they began to walk around, examining the equipment.
Some of the other rebels who were training stopped, watching the two and whispering to each other.
After a while, they were approached.
"Hey, you two!"
They turned around.
In front of them stood a well-built man who was smiling at them with a hint of challenge.

"How about we train together?"
"Gladly!" they both replied in unison.
First, they headed over to the running track painted around the edge of the hall, which stretched for about a kilometer in a loop.
After warming up, the three got ready.
At the clap of a fellow rebel, the small race began.
While Koru and the rebel had a close race, Kawao effortlessly lapped them a few times, aided by his Nyd.
After three laps, he decided to continue on his own strength and slowed down to join the other two.
Now they were all at the same pace.
"Decided not to rely solely on your Nyd anymore?"
"No. Strengthening your own body is also good sometimes."
But instead of slowing down further, Kawao gradually sped up.
His lifelong training as a hunter in his village had given him above-average endurance and strength.
After the run, they moved to the 100-kilo weightlifting station.
Once again, Kawao managed the challenge without using his Nyd.
Koru, however, struggled more. It was clear he had been relying too much on his ability.
Finally, there was a short sparring session with the rebel.
Kawao went first.
He easily dodged all attacks and, with a few well-placed strikes and kicks, quickly had his opponent on the mat.
Then it was Koru's turn.
He also had no trouble. His years as a mercenary had taught him to handle enemies even without his Nyd.
Together, they showed everyone in the room that they had real skill.
The rebel they were sparring with was actually the strongest non-Nyd user on the base.
Suddenly, they heard clapping behind them.
