Kawao woke up in the same room where he had woken up the day before.
It was a room in the inn, as Koru had told him later that evening. And because he had saved the harbor from destruction, he was allowed to stay there as long as he wanted.
He responded by saying he was looking for a way to get to the mainland.
That's when he learned that in two days, a ship from the Kasakan army would be arriving to check on things for the first time in a long while.
He could ask them if they would take him along. And so it was settled.
He got up carefully.
His injuries were healing at an incredibly fast pace.
Koru mentioned that this was due to the Nyd. Nyd users have stronger regenerative powers than people without Nyd.

He could already walk again, but he probably wouldn't be fully fit until the next day.
Suddenly, there was a knock at the door.
"Kawao? Are you awake?"
It was Koru.
"Yeah. What's up?"
"I'm going down for breakfast. Want to join?"
"Sure. Go ahead. I'll be right down."
He heard Koru walk away slowly.
As he had suspected, he got along well with him.
They had talked late into the evening. They quickly found a connection with each other.
He knew he could rely on him when it mattered.
He quickly got dressed and went downstairs.
----------------------------------------
Downstairs was a small hall with many tables and chairs.
From somewhere, he could smell a deliciously tempting aroma.
The hall reminded him of the gathering place in his village. They called it "Git-How," which meant "good coming together."
Whenever the village gathered there, there was a big feast. Whether it was for those who passed the hunter's test or for making it through a hard winter, there was always a wonderful atmosphere, and everyone was happy and content.
He missed those moments.
"Ah, there you are!" Koru called to him, waving him over.
At the table, there were many different dishes he had never seen before in his life.
But their sight made his mouth watery.
