47: Battle for the Ship

Kawao and Koru were on their way to the next deck.

As they reached it, the soldiers there immediately thrust their spears.

They managed to duck just in time.

With a wide kick, Kawao quickly brought them to the ground.

They didn't bother knocking them out further.

They needed to get out of the cramped spaces quickly.

Again, they climbed up stairs.

They reached a narrow corridor, at the end of which stood two more combat-ready soldiers.

Kawao and Koru nodded to each other.

With a wave of energy, Kawao threw the two soldiers through the door and followed them closely.

Now he was outside!

Koru would try to keep the other soldiers from interfering with his fight against Paikon from below deck.

But he couldn't rest for long, as a massive shadow covered him.

BOOM!

He barely dodged Paikon, who had tried to crush him.

"I knew you would come!" Paikon began.

"I immediately saw that you are a fighter!"

"I have better things to do than die!"

"I can imagine. But you won't leave this ship alive!" he roared and charged at Kawao.

Kawao narrowly dodged his punches and kicks.

If he hadn't been enhancing himself with energy, he would have been beaten unconscious by now.

Suddenly, he felt a wall behind him.

'Damn! I focused too much on his attacks!'

"Now you're done for!"

Paikon punched with full force.

Instinctively, Kawao jumped up and barely managed to dodge.

With a loud crash, Paikon's fist hit the wooden wall, leaving a small hole.

Kawao took advantage of this moment while he was above him and struck.

CRACK!

The blow went directly to his head, causing him to get stuck with his feet in the floor.

Kawao landed safely behind him.

'That was a good hit!... Now don't let up!'

He charged at him again.

But he was too late.

With ease, Paikon freed himself from the floor and swung his massive fist at him.

Again, Kawao could only narrowly dodge by ducking and sliding momentarily across the deck.

"Is that all you've got? The fight has been decent so far, but can't you hit a bit harder? Even my grandma fights better than you!"

'Wow! Is the difference in our strength really that great?'
