70: Gathering Energy

He tried to dodge in time, but Fetu kicked him again.

He used his hands to deflect the kicks or at least reduce the damage, but they hit him like heavy hammer blows, pounding against him with full force.

'I have to do something! Otherwise, my arms won't hold out much longer! I need more strength!'

He tried to gather energy from his surroundings, but as long as Fetu kept kicking him, he could hardly concentrate.

Slowly but surely, he started to regain his strength.

During that short time, he had to learn to gather energy even in such situations.

And the longer Fetu kicked, the better he managed.

Until he had enough strength to catch his kick with his hand.

"That's enough!" he said, pushing him back a few meters, giving him enough time to get back on his feet.

They stared at each other again for a moment.

"You have a strange power," Fetu suddenly remarked.

"And so do you."

Fetu smiled gently.

"I haven't even activated my Nyd yet. You'll have to do better than that."

"Like this?"

Suddenly, Kawao lunged forward and struck again.

This time, his opponent could barely dodge.

Good!

If he could gather more strength, he might have a chance!

As he continued to strike and occasionally dodged some attacks, he diligently gathered more energy.

Through his training and his fights on Isulon and against Paikon, he had constantly felt that he could gather more strength each time.

But would he be able to gather enough to defeat someone of Fetu's caliber?

He had to try!

At least until he had a chance to escape.

Then suddenly, he felt something.

Skin!

He could now hit him with his attacks!

Filled with motivation and new determination, he fought on.

Slowly, he even started pushing Fetu back.

Then he saw an opening!

He landed a blow to his midsection.

And immediately after, he struck him with an uppercut to the chin.

For a moment, it looked like he was actually dealing damage.

Finally, he delivered a powerful roundhouse kick that sent Fetu crashing into the bar.

Without hesitation, he wanted to rush in and continue pummeling him, but Fetu got back on his feet immediately.

He didn't look like Kawao's attacks had affected him much.

"Interesting. You've gotten better!" he said, smiling gently again.
