But a flurry of thoughts crossed the young man's mind when he learned that this was possible.
—No, it doesn't make sense!!—Adam shouted violently to himself, seeming very agitated by his thoughts.
Adam plunged into the lake, grabbing his head as if trying to pull out his hair. Then, the young hero emerged from the water and shouted even louder:
—It does make sense! Damn it! This world can't be so miserable! What a crappy life this is!!
The redhead submerged himself in the lake again, spending a good while going in and out of the water, trying to calm himself through exhaustion and lack of air. As he screamed and cursed under the water with rage:
—What the hell is wrong with these bastards! How could such a sick person live in this world!
Adam spent a good while cursing until he grew tired and, as he walked around the lake, reflecting, he yelled angrily:
—Even Sofia, being such a young girl, already seemed to have those black spots in her pupils, and the poor thing was a school teacher in her past life. The same goes for the principal: What kind of kind old man kills hundreds before ascending! No wonder Aquiles sought to be so good to us: it wasn't so much fear of the baron but the power to harvest us for the baron.
—No, I doubt that...—The eyeless old man said immediately, sharing the secret of the school that he could find through Adam's fragmented stories and seeking to further fuel the young man's curiosity—There must be another bookshelf living in the school. The baron controls many floors, that's why Aquiles never saw it, and he also doesn't pay attention to its rules. But the other bookshelf must have this trick to help the teachers learn more languages and thus pave the way for the baron to fulfill his requirements more easily. This type of bookshelf is known as a vassal bookshelf.
—If I consider that there are two bookshelves, everything fits much better!—Adam said with even more anger—Aquiles was the teacher of the special class: probably that class cannot be harvested, and that's why he didn't worry about gaining the affection of his students. It's more than obvious when he asked me: How could a 43-year-old teacher deceive a group of beasts who lived two lives?

Disappointed and heartbroken, Adam threw himself with open arms into the lake, while he complained with even more violence as everything began to make sense:
—That's why there are no adults in the school either: adults cannot be so innocently deceived, and that's why the baron had no hesitation in killing Sofia but spared Aquiles and me. Aquiles is useful, and Sofia isn't, while I was just a child in their eyes... or in their plans...
Lying in the lake, Adam's mind burned trying to find more clues, but a problem had arisen:
—That's why I was special, and they couldn't kill me, but when they took me out of that class, it was to be able to do it... However, I doubt they'll kill Franco and Sofia: their parents would complain if their children disappeared. But both of them are from the upper floors: why did they put me in that class? I don't fit in there...
—You had good karma, and they noticed you had no memories, Adam...—The eyeless old man said with a very cold tone; the old man wanted to convince the young hero of the danger—Without parents... unprotected.... You were the perfect target so that Aquiles could meet the requirements of the other bookshelf!
The eyeless old man noticed that Adam seemed to have no more ideas and added fuel to the fire, commenting with much anger:
—No wonder they started to worry so much about you after that incident: they're heartless librarians! They never cared about you, Adam! Slaves have no emotions, they'll never truly love you!
Adam seemed unresponsive and lost in his thoughts, trying to solve the problem that had emerged in his mind. After much thinking, Adam stood up suddenly in the lake and ran toward the school archives that the principal had given him.
—Superior Class... S-2. Was it just a coincidence?—Adam murmured as he opened the files and saw the class of his past life: S-30. After reading the class, the redhead's wet hands trembled, and he dropped the papers, letting them fall to the cold floor of the cave.
Adam stood stunned for a few minutes until he shouted at the top of his lungs:
—I finally understand!! My past self desperately sought to have bad karma because of this problem. That's why, in my previous life, I fought with that guy, Oliver, but what if I tried to warn him, and he never believed me?! Is that why everyone in the class seemed to hate me?
—You're Adam... I have no doubt that was the reason...—The eyeless old man responded with a lot of hatred. He didn't want another bookshelf to steal his source of magical books and ruin his future plans —Discovering such a secret as a child, only you could do that, young hero.
—At least, I finally found out what special celebration I would receive when I reached 140 pages!—Adam shouted with despair, breaking into tears and falling to his knees on the cave floor.
