E1-87-La llegada del héroe

When Adam reached the hallway leading to the cave, he noticed from a distance that someone had placed a red carpet on the wooden floor. With some hesitation, Adam stepped on the red carpet and walked along it towards the bookshelf of the blind old man.

After a few steps on the red carpet, Adam saw confetti shooting up into the sky from the bookshelves lining the hallway, startling the already weary young man. Then, the side bookshelves formed their heads and began moving their mouths in unison, seemingly singing a song to Adam.

However, the young hero couldn't hear anything, which made him feel embarrassed for not being able to enjoy the spectacular reception the bookshelves had prepared for him. He finally reached the bookshelf of the blind old man, and more confetti shot into the air, scattering all over Adam's body. Then, the head of the blind old man formed on the rotten wooden bookshelf and also started singing in unison with the other bookshelves.

After singing for a while, the blind old man said something to Adam. He seemed very excited and euphoric while speaking, but Adam just stared at him bewildered until he finally said with some compassion, due to the secondhand embarrassment the scene was causing him:

— I can't hear them, I'm deaf!

The blind old man looked at Adam suspiciously and noticed that the young man's ears were stained with dried blood. Nevertheless, he continued talking. Adam remained stunned, trying to read the old man's lips in vain, and seeing that the blind old man seemed to start complaining, the young man repeated, shouting:

— I really can't hear anything: Can you let me pass!

The blind old man glared at his sides, especially at the mushrooms that some bookshelves had, which seemed to be laughing at him. For his part, the monk beside him burst into laughter, causing the books on his shelves to fall to the ground.

Uncomfortably, the blind old man violently opened the entrance to the cave; he seemed very angry about the situation.

Adam entered through the entrance and hurriedly made his way to the lake. When he arrived, he undressed quickly and jumped into the water to lie down in the lake. The water began to seep into Adam's pores, relaxing all his muscles and wounds. The tired young man closed his eyes and enjoyed the sensation of being healed by the magical water of the cave.

—Can you hear now, boy?— the blind old man asked again; he had been doing it for a few minutes while Adam was healing.

—Yes, it was a great idea to give the water of this lake a healing effect— Adam said, still with his eyes closed, enjoying the water.

—Of course, I realized that heroes didn't last long if I didn't heal them— the blind old man said with some pride —It's a shame I threw those mushrooms away. But the monk told me there was a double ascent, and it's the first time that event has happened on the wooden floors.
