The negotiations went smoothly, and Adam reached an agreement with the old man with no eyes. But then the young man brought out his godfather, and everything went out of control. In the end, the hero managed to improve his deal, allowing him to choose a total of 4 magical little books from the old man with no eyes' bookshelf, knowing their effects without any riddles.
In exchange for the improved deal, if Adam spoke to anyone about the books' effects, he would die slowly and painfully. However, that happened almost always, so setting that condition was just a way for the eyeless old man to slyly position himself as the 'true' winner in the negotiation while securing a trustworthy messenger for a few years.
According to the old man with no eyes, there should be no problems whit the purge, since reading a magical book didn't consume much time, and they were generally not very long. Consequently, even if the real purge began when Adam obtained his black robe, he could read all the magical little books without leaving the cave and thus ensure he wouldn't be affected by the purge.
Anyway, according to Adam's godfather, that coincidence should be impossible, so Adam stopped worrying about it. However, he did worry because the 20-year deadline mentioned by the bear had passed some time ago. Nonetheless, for the moment, the young hero didn't notice any major disturbances among the residents of the middle floors.
Although all the residents of the middle floors seemed to be aware of the purge, they considered it a long-term event that wouldn't affect their current lives. Most saw it as a possibility due to the high-quality books in the lower floors.
Although the quality of the lower floor's books didn't seem to catch the attention of the middle floor residents, some lower floors were infected. Furthermore, the bookshelves on the gold and silver floors were like the old man with no eyes, asking almost impossible questions just to trick you. Therefore, the middle floor residents exclusively avoided that area and considered it pointless.
When everything was settled, the black sheep said goodbye, and the cave was as empty as usual. It was undoubtedly a great day of adventures, but at the end of the story, the hero had to march home alone.
With not much to do, the young hero sat back at his desk, took out his yellow notebook, and continued studying the new pages. Time passed, and no one interrupted him. The pages turned, and it was almost time to find out the ending of the young hero's story narrated in the yellow book. Certainly, the hero's story was not a great one, but it sought good excuses to go through all the words of the language.

Loneliness accompanied Adam until he felt like going to sleep again. The red-haired boy slept, thinking about the day of adventures, and before he knew it, the old man with no eyes was shouting at him that it was time to go to school, as if it were an alarm. The young hero had grown up with this alarm of shouts, so he ignored them while slowly putting on his white robe washed by the lake's water and prepared to go to school.
The young hero's path followed the same monotony as always. One had to pass by the guards on the stairs; you could greet them, and they would ignore your greeting as you continued climbing the 400 steps. For each step, you took one stair, making it a total of 400 steps. In those 400 steps, one crossed paths with a large number of librarians; you could choose to greet them or not, but the result was the same: they would ignore you and continue on their own adventure.
After countless ignored greetings and exactly 400 steps, one could exit the stairs and walk through the necessary hallways to reach the school; there weren't many, but they were necessary. After walking them, one could find the giant wooden arch that served as the entrance to the school, also known as the school's gate. Almost nobody entered this hexagon, but if you came across a student or teacher, you could choose to greet them or not, but the result was the same: they would ignore you and continue on their own adventure.
After walking the necessary hallways to reach your classroom, there weren't many, but they were necessary, one could arrive at their classroom and open the door. Upon entering, you could decide whether to greet or not, but the result wouldn't change since there was no one in the classroom to respond to your greeting.
However, silence responded with a creak in the wood, and there one decided to enter. To reach your seat, you only needed to take a few steps, not many, but necessary. Upon reaching your seat, you would open your book and wait for the teacher, and after a while, the teacher would come, just like every day, and say in a muffled voice:
—Which page are you on, Adam?
—Reached page 120...— Adam responded automatically, looking up to see the slight changes in Aquiles.
Aquiles' face was no longer there; it had been replaced by a giant pimple shaped like a wrinkled human face. Tears were streaming down from beneath the pimple, and some pleas could be heard, but the best thing one could do was ignore them and focus on the new Aquiles, or rather, the pimple hanging on his face.
—Well...— the pimple replied. When it spoke, a little yellow pus would escape from its mouth, making its voice sound a bit muffled and choked—Do you need help with page 121, Adam?
—Yes— Adam grunted. He knew that the pimple acted on instinct, making communication with it quite difficult. However, it did seem to have the instinct to want Adam to reach his 140 pages, probably to exchange the young boy for something with the hidden bookshelf at the school.
Aquiles approached Adam and began explaining in his muffled voice, helping to correct the young boy's issues and teaching him the problems of the last 20 pages.
