E1-67-Cono y Silbatos

After such an adventure, the corridors of the lower fifth floor seemed much quieter and peaceful. Occasionally, you'd hear some meaningless screams, and it wasn't uncommon to come across a lunatic banging their head against the books lining the halls. But Adam was already familiar with this scenery, so he felt somewhat more at ease walking through these areas.

With little trouble, Adam managed to reach the cave of the blind old man. But before he could say anything, the blind old man came out to greet him with boundless joy. He had a cone on his head and a birthday whistle in his mouth. With a loud shout, the old man greeted Adam ecstatically:

—You did it, young hero! You obtained your third magic book! It's impressive; I've never seen someone acquire so many books in such a short time!

Adam felt a bit happier; at least coming home to a smile after a long day of fighting brought great joy to his heart. Joy that didn't last long, as he recalled the bear's words: the book could be cursed. With some hesitation, Adam asked:

—Is there anything abnormal about the book? Its appearance is a bit scary.

—Who cares about appearances? It's the content that matters! — replied the blind old man with a grin from ear to ear —If you want, I can tell you that this magic book has a great ability!

Adam's joyful smile started to fade. However, he decided to believe that the bear had planned something to turn him against the blind old man, so he was going to tell him what the bear had said.

Before Adam could say anything, the blind old man continued speaking:

—It's a shame the book is in the language of the lower floors. I really don't understand why your father forced you to learn such a useless language like that of the middle floors! It's only useful on those 5 wooden floors, and not much more.

Adam was surprised. His father had told him that the best future he could have lay in mastering the language of the middle floors, but he never explained why, nor did he want to talk about it. The boy always assumed it was the most common language. But according to the blind old man, his father had been mistaken.

The blind old man continued with a very cheerful voice, saying:

—But don't worry, hero! You can always learn the language of the lower floors. In fact, I have a learning book on my shelves. You can read it if you want!

Adam saw that the old man was not lying; apparently, there was a red-covered book on the shelves. It was tucked away in one of the corners, so Adam assumed he had never seen it before. He was about to take it, but he remembered he already had 80 pages of the yellow book. As useless as the language might be, at least it would grant him the black robe, and Adam wanted to get the black robe as soon as possible.

Once he obtained it, he would return to his father's house and proudly show it to him. Over time, Adam had forgiven him: or rather, understood him. It wasn't his father's fault that he had become a lunatic.

The blind old man noticed that Adam wasn't taking the red book, so he said calmly:

—You can take it anytime, kid. While the book itself isn't worth much, I could teach you to read the language! You've earned it by bringing me 3 magic books!

Adam got excited and nodded several times. He knew that once you finished school, learning another language was a terribly challenging task. But if the blind old man helped him, it would be easier. With great weariness, Adam entered the cave and prepared to rest for the next big day of adventures.
