E1-25-Debería haber preguntado lo del cono...

A month flew by, and just like every day, Adam was about to enter the classroom. However, this time he hesitated at the door, puzzled. Apparently, someone had decorated the classroom, as the entrance was covered with white stars and various paper streamers.

With a hint of excitement over the eye-catching decorations, Adam pushed open the classroom door and found the entire room adorned with white streamers. Aquiles had a paper cone on his head, resembling a hat, and the other two students wore them too.

—Here, Adam, put this on your head— said Aquiles, handing him a paper cone.

A bit bewildered, Adam placed the cone on his head and took his seat at the desk.

—Today, we celebrate your first 10 pages read!— shouted Aquiles enthusiastically, pulling out a black book from under the desk.

With excitement, Aquiles opened the black book, and immediately the room plunged into darkness. Then, the book started flipping its pages and projecting stars on the classroom walls.

Adam became enthralled by the scene, but what surprised him the most was when the stars began dancing around the room, forming a phrase on the ceiling that read: 'Happy 10 pages!' in three languages. Adam focused on the middle phrase and could read the words written in the language of the middle floors.

—Congratulations to all of you!— said Aquiles in a euphoric tone— Franco, do you know how many pages are in the green book in total?

—Yes, there are 120 pages— answered Franco proudly.

Adam thought about the answer in case they asked him, if he remembered correctly, his book had 140 pages, but all the books told the same story; so the boy assumed that one day he would have to read more pages than the rest of his classmates.

This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. If you see it on Amazon, please report it.

—Well done— Aquiles said with a smile— Every 10 pages mark a milestone in your journey to master the language of reading. However, the celebrations for the first 10 pages, reading 100 pages, and completing the last reading are formal celebrations. To celebrate your first milestone, according to tradition, all of you have to read the 10 pages aloud during this class, and then we'll see what happens. Once you finish, close your books and do not open them until all your classmates have recited their parts.

Following Aquiles' orders, all the students recited their first 10 pages aloud and closed their books. However, after doing so, the students didn't notice anything strange.

—Luckily, it was only 30 pages— said Aquiles, somewhat tired of hearing the same story three times in a row— Now, everyone, open your books: Do you notice anything unusual?

Adam opened his book and was surprised: all of Aquiles' annotations had vanished, and the words of the book had changed. Seeing the astonished expressions on his students' faces, the teacher explained:

—The book automatically changes all the words if you manage to recite 10 consecutive pages correctly. In other words, now you have to read it from the beginning again until you reach 20 pages. The final reading, the complete reading of 120/140 pages, is the test to earn your black tunic. If you read it, you've mastered the language.

—But I don't understand anything...— Bianca complained in frustration— Why did it change so much?

Adam also noticed the problem. Not only had new words appeared, but also seemingly random sentences like "The mouse ate the building." The sentence had nothing to do with the previous paragraph or the entire page, which described the story of a young hero.

—Yes, now it doesn't make sense to you...— Aquiles said with a smile— But later on, you'll learn that the same sentence can have different meanings, unfortunately. For now, we'll gradually explore that in the coming week.

As he spoke, Aquiles took out a black box and handed three wooden badges with the number 10 inscribed on them to each student, saying:

—Besides that, as a tradition of this Hexagon, you can visit the bookstore for the first 10 pages. I recommend going; I don't want to spoil the surprise, but the best thing about coming to this school is what you get from that bookstore.

—It is a warehouse with books, not a bookshelf...— Aquiles clarified in more detail; for fear that Adam will not go due to his previous trauma.
