E1-141- Preparándose para el largo viaje.

Time passed, and Adam's ears finally healed. Without wasting any time, the young man set out for the market on the middle floors to find a tailor who could make him a black hooded robe. That way, the young man's outfit would look more spectacular when he had to show it to his father.

Before heading to the market, Adam had to stop by the bank on the middle floors and withdraw some sheets of magical characters.

Adam's godfather's biography had been destroyed in the magical book adventure, and the young hero wanted to try to recover it with the help of the mirror in hexagons 2 and 4. According to the legless old man whom the boy had rescued several years ago, he would have to wrap his hand in magical character sheets to retrieve it as good as new using the mirror.

In addition, the magical character sheets could be necessary to practice the ability to transform into a book. Therefore, Adam wanted to go to the bank to buy and withdraw a large bundle of magical character sheets so that he could practice on his ascent to the upper floors.

With some impatience for the long-awaited meeting with his father, Adam headed to the 3rd middle floor, hexagon 18, where the bank of the middle floors was located. Upon arrival, Adam approached the stone bookshelf and took one of the countless books with a golden spine that were on its shelves, causing a head with blindfolded eyes to materialize from the stone bookshelf. As it formed, the blindfolded old man asked in a monotone voice:

—What operation do you wish to perform?

—I want to buy some magical character sheets and then withdraw them— Adam replied, putting his finger on the first sheet of the book, causing his information to appear.

—Perfect, how many do you wish to buy and how many to withdraw?— the blindfolded old man asked, peering curiously at the data on the book held by the young man.

—I want to buy and withdraw four hundred magical character sheets— Adam responded. 400 sheets were a large bundle, so it would be complicated to buy more and carry them while climbing up the stairs to the upper floors.

The blindfolded old man looked at Adam's data again and then commented:

—If you're buying for travel or experiments, you could buy a magical character book and save yourself transport troubles.

—Did you read my mind? Can bookshelves do that?— Adam asked, as he had just been thinking about the transport problem, and now the old man seemed to have a solution.

This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.

—A magical character book contains 100 bundles of magical character sheets— the stone head commented, ignoring Adam's question —And each bundle contains 1000 magical character sheets. If you're going on a long journey, it's better to carry a book that holds your sheets rather than leaving them loose.

—But wouldn't a book with such a large number of sheets be too heavy?— Adam asked, the price wasn't a problem because this kind of sheets were quite cheap for him.

—The book generates the sheets until you withdraw the 100 bundles— the stone head replied in a monotone voice —Besides, the book is as heavy as a small wooden board, so it weighs much less than 400 sheets.

—Alright, give me the magical character book— said Adam.

As soon as Adam gave the order to execute the operation, the stone head opened its mouth, and a hand also made of stone emerged from the mouth, holding a bluish wooden board. The young hero took the board from the stone hand, causing the hand to retract back into the mouth. With the operation completed, Adam's bank statement changed, and the golden-spined book returned to the stone bookshelf, while the head of the blindfolded old man disappeared among the stones of the shelves.

Adam looked at the bluish wooden board, trying to understand how it worked. The bluish board wasn't very large and had the same size as the character sheets. To Adam's surprise, the board didn't seem to have anything special, except for a square piece of paper attached to the top of the board. On top of the paper square, the language of the middle floors was inscribed:

> 'Write down the number of sheets to withdraw.'

Adam took a pencil from his tunic and wrote the number one on the paper square: the number dissolved into the paper square, and a sheet of magical characters fell to the floor at the other end of the board. Surprised, Adam picked up the magical character sheet from the floor and tried to see if he could put it back into the bluish board. But it seemed that he could only withdraw the sheets and there was no way to store the sheets taken out in the bluish board.

With the magical character sheets obtained, Adam approached hexagon 2 of the same floor of the bank and looked for the mirror. When he found it, the young man waited until no one passed by and began to wrap his hands with the magical character sheets.

Adam finished wrapping half of his arm in the magical character sheets and plunged his hand into the mirror. The sensation of putting his hand through the mirror was quite strange: it felt very cold, and from time to time, the young man touched some solid objects, but not the size of a book.

The sensation inside the mirror was very similar to sticking his hand in a bathtub full of ice cubes. But the liquid inside the mirror felt like oil and not water, so Adam had a hard time moving his hand inside the mirror.

After searching for a while, Adam finally felt something that resembled a book and removed it: it was indeed his godfather's yellow biography and seemed to be in perfect condition, as if it had never been struck by lightning. With the biography safely tucked into the pockets of his black tunic and wasting no time, Adam set off for the middle floors market.
