E1-40-La casa de los librillos

After walking a few minutes through the wooden corridors, the kids finally reached one of the doors of the school. It looked just like all the others and didn't seem to lead to any special place.

The teacher opened the door, and the four librarians entered the room. Inside, there was a small space with not much in it, except for some boxes stacked with various bags. The most notable thing in the room was another smaller door on one of the walls, which should be the reception area, and behind that door, the little books should live.

—Listen carefully...— Aquiles said, searching for some bags he had prepared for the special class —Whatever happens, do not speak directly to the little books, and don't touch them either. We're in a very delicate time for the bookshelves, so we need to be cautious. However, in general, the little books tend to help children, so they shouldn't get offended easily.

Adam and his two companions picked up the bags the teacher had given them, and inside, there was only gray dust, some librarian hairs, and other trash.

Aquiles approached the door and explained:

—When we enter the room, I'll explain what the bags are for. Remember not to touch anything in the next room, and if a little book wants to come out, let it, don't get in its way.

The teacher carefully opened the door, trying not to make any loud noise. Then, Aquiles lay on the floor and slid with his belly pressed against the ground to enter through the tiny door. The door was about the size of a pillow, so it wasn't an easy task for adults to get through.

The four of them entered the room, and as they did, the kids realized that the room was incredibly large and contained a vast labyrinth. They could only see the entrance of the maze.

The labyrinth seemed to be constructed with tree bark, and the floor was made of unevenly cut large stones, creating an uneven surface to walk on.

The interior of the labyrinth was dimly lit, using some kind of red flowers for illumination, which grew on the tree bark as if they were parasites. The flowers constantly opened and closed their petals, creating moments of complete darkness inside the labyrinth. On the other hand, the flowers emitted a very faint red light, producing a constant feeling of danger in the three kids who looked at the maze with fear.

—Take this rope and follow me...— Aquiles whispered as he handed the rope to the kids and asked them to tie it somewhere on their bodies. —Don't touch the walls, and if you notice any of your fellow students becoming dazed and looking at one of the flowers on the walls, just touch their shoulder, but don't say anything.

The three kids nodded in fear. To them, the labyrinth seemed like the lair of an evil beast, and if it weren't for their teacher being with them, they would have turned around a long time ago. Once all four of them tied the rope around themselves, they proceeded to enter the labyrinth, being careful not to slip on the uneven floor.

Every time the lights of the flowers closed and stopped illuminating the labyrinth, Aquiles would stop the group and wait for the red light to brighten the hallways again. Along the way, the children were often stunned by the flowers that grew on the walls of the maze, but the teacher always brought them out of their trance by touching their shoulders.
