Fragment: He Who Dwells at the Edge

Fragment: He Who Dwells at the Edge

Two communications reached He Who Dwells at the Edge, nearly right after each other. Yet there were a few more that needed the initial communication delivered that by the time he had spread it to the rest of them the second one had come from the other way around.

First, the hive has lost its healing. Self-repair was still viable, but there needed to be those that would update and notice the harm caused to others. And so a new role had been formed.

Second, was a message from Mur. Some were needed for a new role. For a different discussion of the hive. Those with memories related to healing, stupor, and the repair of others were asked to gather in case they were willing to accept a new role. Some were being sought to help find healing.

There was more to the role being sought, but he did not see it fully. Some path laid by Crui, to be met with One Who Remembers near He Who Sees.

This would be of interest to them, so He would find more. He passed the shard off and went with the guide who had delivered it.

Later he inquired of Crui, Would others outside of the hive have access to healing? What damage could not be repaired through stupor?

There are materials, that infest the bodies harming healing, Stupor could preserve, and memories could be stored. But indevidual memories were becoming more varied. Pods cannot be imitated by others as the perspectives were shifting, and the enemies had infiltrated some thoughts. And shards can only hold so much.

He Who Dwells at the edge has another inquiry, What can be done? And why were memories incomprehensible to some others.

There were multiple, perspectives. Pasts, Fragments of previously absorbed hives making them up. The hive was going to sleep to heal, and thoughts were fracturing in the meantime. Does He Who Dwells At the Edge align with the thoughts of the hive? With the netmakers? The Memories of War? The Guides? The Dead?

Making sure his thoughts were shared, that the communication was complete. He Who Dwells at the Edge continued this line of thought.

He simply feeds the hive. So that they may live, so that the structures are sustained. And that others live on.

Would he be willing to leave to advance that further...
