Book 2 Chapter 4: Giants (part 2)

The Giant went silent, but Crui assured me that he still sees it there.

And the Frei assures her that the ship is whole undamaged, the giant is moving them, but it is has not caused them harm.

Why does Hlei refer to herself with such a complex thought as me?

She does not know, it communicates clearly.

It imposes the self somewhat. It makes communication a little difficult if the entire self thinks, without direction.

Regardless, Frei needs to return to stupor soon.

But then there would be none to repair the ship. They did not plan for this.

the blueprints are available, they can be read and Crui is capable.

Three should be awake at all... Frei's health is more important, we shall maintain slow minimal movement until Ur-Im awakens. Frei should sleep.

Frei acepts this decision. And Me,

I,

  she communicates this to Crui.

Crui, inquires if this is trully necessary, they need to have three awake for the ship to function and move.

they need three to be aware, we cannot risk damage irreparable by stupor.

So, thegiant is quiet with a lurch it seems to push the ship one last time. And Crui watches it leave.

And another vibration goes through the water, high, somewhat painful even, a sense of urgency there...

----------------------------------------

We heard more than saw the great danger approaching, it, it would feast on us. The small ones where in a shell they might be safe, we push them one last time towards the others of their kind We called for them of the danger, we Called for them to leave. And we ran away. If we find another of us we would be able to defeat the predator.

Frei had much to inscribe in his pod, so much to remember, Crui comment the giant, how crui saw him. This was important, this was part of the reason he became. He Who Dwells at the Edge, He Who Travels The Edge, he pulled more shards into his pod to better remember, only then did he go into stupor.

The prey leaves it's territory, and it is moving to fast for it to catch. There are smaller fish in the sea, but that would've made great food for it's mate.

Yet, there is another thing here, it approaches, a strane creature, a hard shell, retracted limbs, it's strange ot see a shell that large. Yet, there is movement within the shell, small creatures a shape similar to the toxic ones, to the small one's with their own territory. But these are even small, it approaches nearer, there might be other food in there.

----------------------------------------

Crui sees another giant approaching, this one with little vibrations caused. A shape more similar to theirs, that moves through the water with fewer but larger...

Limbs so large they each could hold one of them captive, that could consume and destroy the ship if it desired. a great growth, something, on the side of it. Angles for the ship.

Was that a sensory organ? He could not tell. It apporaced closer, they needed to get away, he reached to Hlei, they needed to accelerate. The they would continue in their direction.

Hlei unfurled the sails, released a twisted net, and they were off.

Fins and tendrils released out of the shell thing, it was retreating out of it's territory. There was known prey, the little things inside of it were not worth the effort. It went to hunt different prey.
