Chapter 21.1: The Other Him Who Speaks With Giants (part 1)

The world is vast. And yet we can only travel so far without sleep, in a way I admire our enemies, for they have succeeded where we failed. And yet, I wonder why we fight these ones. As we swim through the vastness, feeling waves of vibrations passing us by. Great and mighty, the flow of the world brushing against us. And in a disturbance, we sense an enemy. We engaged...

And I awoke from the memory. I have to remind myself why I engage in this act, the giants the beasts, the world itself flowing around us. I have no other reason to pursue this.

But that is not true, there is one more reason. She Who Named This Role. And her great fantasy.

A giant hive, a net pulled along by the giants, gathering materials from the world at large, capturing beasts. If only we could speak to the giants we saw. If only their vibrations meant something.

But we shall discover that in time, now I shall be with Wur, Who Named This Role and is unwilling to be anything else.

To find where I needed to go I need He Who Knows Where Things Are.

He who sees is not here, I was he for only a moment. But why is a scout working inside the hive? Or why is this one working inside the hive a scout? What is your designation, if I cannot know it you shall be Tur.

Tur hesitated, he did not understand me fully. I projected Tur at him. That Tur got. They Who Remembered War needed He Who Sees.

I understand, but it is not in his role to obey them when summoned so.

Tur was not just confused, I am used to that response. No, this confusion was Profound.

What he sensed from me was not just outside of his role, it was contradictory to it.

We are not in war, what is the role of Tim Who Scouts.

He needed to find and retrieve those who are important and extract them from danger.

So why was he inside the hive? He did not know... Traitors, dangerous elements, enemies disguised as friends, I didn't sound like one of them...

Calm, I sent him thoughts of food, he needed to eat, he needed to eat, to sustain this energy.

He calmed slightly, sustenance, he remembered the pain of emptiness, he sent me gratitude, and went off... and I stopped him, that was the wrong direction, the nearest food was that way.

And then he was off.

And while I have a sky-map of most of the hive, I have no clue what is it that I've seen. Well, except for the food, and I haven't
