Chapter 56: Ur-Im

Chapter 56: Ur-Im

I have awoken he who... Ur-Im...

When I arise from stupor it is I again. Ur-Im is neither important for the hive, nor well known. His other roles are unimportant and he owes nothing else to the hive.

That is not true, he knows that isn't true.

No, I know it isn't true. The way I refer to myself is important. But the way I think it important for communication. But for now, I am...

And I check on wur, and she has not awoken, and I hold her tendrils, and we embrace, and I lead her to her shards, to the texture of her pod, to her memories. And she returns to unconsciousness resembling like no other time true stupor.

And she sleeps, and...

She needs me but others need me more, I gather what I need and...

I gather what I need and I leave our over-pod.

First I travel to He Who Sees, and I find them in stupor. Without a map to reach She Who Sleeps. Yet one called Hlei, so she had chosen a name, she too sleeps her pod near She Who Remembers, outside of which are shards I reach for, feeling gently, are any of them marked for me.

And one is, the eyes have been made with materials in excess. And Hlei wishes to seek healing outside the hive.

It shall be done, and...

She Who Remembers shall remember us. For to those who leave, and with the cost incurred to do so, the hive shall not. And we may be as she who sleeps.

But the hive lives, and the hive survives. And prepared for our journey are another set of eyes.

So I know where to go to next.

I reach for the net and I call for a guide. He who Ensure Life responds to the vibrations, for he is returning on his journey, and he can tell from my touch that I am not marked to be remembered or fed.

I thank him for the consideration, is there healing in the hive?

Some die, and others go to deeper sleep, but some choose to live and their continuation must be insured.

What of him? What of his role? Does he take a name?

He is He Who Ensures Life. And he can be nothing greater.

May Ur-Im, follow him. To see the hive, and to not risk damage with the introduction of another device?

He does not understand, how can a device risk damage?

When flight was introduced to inside the hive, the flow within was disrupted.

Yet the flow inside is now calm.

The flow inside has been healed.

I follow him further but our communications are minimal. He doesn't ot wish to consider this. His role is to Ensure Life, not to Prevent Death. I must go to one who does, so he calls another guide. And I am shown on my way.

In a center in the hive, a place where guides gather, where those who prevent death gather, where those how ensure movement continues in the hive gather. A center for them where nets meet, and an area within where all the movement inside them is built into an equilibrium, within that there is the structure with those who prevent death.

That is where I go.

----------------------------------------

Another comes, this one is...

Ur-Im. Why has Zur taken the role of He who Prevents Death. Is it not the role Zur had before?

For the hive needs healing, and this is the way. What does Ur-Im mean before?

When they first met. When Zur was He Who Processes food.

Zur does not remember... This is better, Zur is complete, his role has purpose and it does not risk danger while helping the hive.

Ur-Im does not expect Zur to risk danger if not necessary. And I/He appreciates Zur he's and Zur's role in the hive, but if he has spread these teachings. Why is Zur, He?

For Zur is fulfilled enough, and it is the place he is needed. But if I child could learn this. Why is Ur-Im, who carries constant upheaval, still He?

Has it Ur-Im not done enough to take a role or a title? If a child could learn this why hasn't Ur-Im.

UR-IM still serves the hive. And Ur has done much to bring it to where it is.

But where is his role? Not what has he done, but what does he DO?

Ur-Im has brought growth, has lessened the impacts of wars. Has worked to return the damage, caused. And most importantly I have been paid by those in the hive who found value in what I provide, of memories and shards they themselves can use. If I had not provided them with growth and room for more, why would they have given me this?

What of those who...

I have returned my debts, and I still have excess.

Zur shall reject that, it is not a way to live. But they serve the hive still. Why has Ur-Im come to He Who Prevent Death.

Ur-Im shall join those who leave the hive and to make it so that they have how and what to travel, I have mechanisms that will provide for that. But I fear the consequences of their implementations in the hive. Ur-Im is here to see what can be done. With those who care for preservation above all else.

Others shall be gathered here. And for the efficiency of the hive. This task is taken up.
