Chapter 40.1: The Dreadful Young

Chapter 40.1: The Dreadful Young

He Who Flies was He Who Flies. He was also a squad leader in a time of peace. But that role was for they who followed him. It was not important to others. Until they acted on their own, he was He Who Flies.

No, they do act on their own. But he defines flight, and he describes the role fully. To them, Bim was She Who Manages They Who Fly.

But Bim is not She. He is who he is. And imitation is not teaching.

And She Who Flies has done much of what is being applied to him, her involvement was those who seek out those who fly, the hive would not know our use if not for her.

So He Shall Be Bim-ur. The He Who Flies Who Acts in that role.

He agrees, and the others shall take Ur on when he returns to stupor.

He Who Flies Left Bim-ur. He would tell the others when he came across them.

And Bim-ur returned to being He Who Flies. Zur was returning and it was his preferred role.

----------------------------------------

Zur guided Uxim in his flight to He Who Flies. Uxim struggled to understand ordinary movement, and they are too injured to move ordinarily. Luckily the damaged tendrils could be held on the inside of the gliders for control and the rest they held together for communication.

As they were nearing the end of their path. They passed by He Who Flies, not bim, but a different one They Who Fly tended to reject names. They found themselves well enough defined within their roles. Zur sent affirmations, and Uxim reached to communicate as well.

He Who Flies flinched back but they communicated. He was cautious of Uxim his thoughts similar to an enemy or one who flies. But the injuries could explain that the communications came across that way. Uxim... Uxim was attached to he who flies, he understood the role, desired it even.

Uxim needed stupor or Uxim would be lost.

----------------------------------------

He Who Nurtures had found the young most reaming in their pods. Being looked after by He Who Makes Traps from among the entire hive.

He inquired, why was he who makes traps...

The others are in stupor, and some were found and taught and involved in existing roles. But none are awake to manage, so he is here to keep them safe.

He is well aware of the movement of others through space.

He Who Nurtures Inquires on how they were getting socialized.

Through those that were there on occasion, the occasional passing scout. And through her work.

Who Was She?

She Who Manages They Who Make Traps, but it was not her competence.

What was causing this neglect? Why were the active roles in the hive so different What were the great changes occurring in the hive?

The creation of flight, and the management of the hive by Those Who Remember And Fear War.

That is not their title.

But it is how they are acting in the hive and they were managing and investing resources through scout. Encouraging movement through the hive, and accelerating the integration of flight as it was seen as good to Them.

Yet they were not working, he would see them they needed to make paths for the young

And they proceeded to that task, or She proceeded to that task as He returned to the young to perform that dreadful but necessary task

----------------------------------------

The situation was understood by Zur, Bim, and Crui Who Creates Paths. The Uxim was a young one made for flight, whose pod was lost and not found. And he needed stupor. Was there a path to take?

Crui knew of one pod unused, the pod on an enemy, held by Urim. But it was not safe, could they coat in in shards to be held close?

We were not even sure if his base pod would work, he took some damage, we would need one to look after him... And one who transfers memories to watch and help him grow.

It was the short stupor of the young. And it would have to be shorter than usual. But they would bring him and the enemy pod to He who duplicated memories. And the stupor would be kept short, with as much put on shards as possible, a long stupor when a better pod was built, they could return the shards then.

But who ensure the process?

Zur would stay. When nurtured the young were brought to the stored memories to develop their role. Whoever was nurturing them needed to know. This may not be an individual instance, and the nurturer needed to know. For whatever their role, this was important.
