Chapter 23.1: She Who Flies Once More (part 1)

She who flies awoke. She stretched, she reached out trying to understand the encapsulation of her experiences from before her stupor. And what stood out to her was the flight. She searched around her over-pod. It was disordered and she ran into a number of memories, she put her shards back into their net. (She'd find the ones she needed later.) And found her sail-glider.

Wait this wasn't her sail-glider, this was a new one it was different. She took her flight shard with her and tried to fly around her pod. This was fast movement, but it wasn't flight. It was efficient, it was fast, and she liked the fast movements, But when using it correctly she barely felt that. The flow inside the pod was... anxious, she'd look into that soon. But the sail-glider. it was efficient. But there is a problem with the efficiency. Yes, they could move efficiently, but keeping track of movements would require wasted thought, and thought wasted on efficiency was wrong.

It had no purpose, caused no joy, produced no meaning. Unless it was the efficiency of others, she could respect those roles, hers was almost one of them.

But this was unacceptable, counting could fix this. So to begin her new awakening she would start with He Who Keeps Time.

----------------------------------------

He Who Duplicates Shards was in stupor, but it had not been an easy task. He needed to complete that which was required of his role. They came from forces greater than us, but did they come from She Who Remembers War? No? Then they were from those without complete understanding. The needs of the pod would be better served if he was available in the coming cycle. The Urgency was not meant for him.

The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

But She Who Remembers could not share that memory, it was false. It was the memory of a different role.

We could not calm the hive on our own. But according to those we know, the war has only lasted two cycles, but what cycle is it now? He Who Keeps Time would know. And there would always be a He Who Remembered Who Is In stupor, at least, if information is moving as it should, but never does. As It Should. We pulled on a net until a scout arrived. And had him act as our guide.

----------------------------------------

There was a different He Who Keeps Time awake. She Who Flew reached out to him. Inquiry, presence, true-role.

My true role? I am she who flies. I'm here because the presence of a time counter is needed to make the sail-gliders properly efficient. If you care so much for efficiency you should be able to help with this.

Negation, role,

But this fit's right into your role, and at the very least translate your thoughts into something more communicable.

What does he mean it isn't efficient? Your role directly involves the actions of others... why do I bother, I apologize for my emotional response.

How are you, how do I summon They Who Know Where Things Are, and I am She Who Flies how can I advance the hive through your assistance?

He handed me a small shard, there are scouts covering the role of Them. And let me be.

I examined the shard in it were time counting methods, I sent him my gratitude handed him a food packet I picked up on the way. And went in the direction of He Who Duplicates Shards to see what time counting method worked best for sail gliders.
