Chapter 9: Hunters (part 1)

Chapter 9: Hunters (part 1)

He Who Keeps Time reached over to eat.

The algae farms needed to be cycled,

The thinwater fish traps should be checked and harvested,

And the

It would be a more efficient use of energy overall if both were done at once, he left the over-pod and reached towards the location net, he tugged twice, and waited Who who knows where things are had erratic response times, so he waited and counted.

34 counts, that was fast, he reached out and before he could send anything over-

Inquiry, sate of being?

Was there a disease or something running rampant? No, she was just a little strange that way, it was that energy that made her suited for being She who knows where things are, as opposed to those who could move faster.

He communicated what had to be done, she inquired of the stupor times of the workers, he responded and sent her on her way.

----------------------------------------

The thinwater traps were thin net's of tendril fabric coated with bottom plants, with a bit of oil/glue on fixed points. Scout was checking over them, there hadn't been a need for his role in a while and he was glad to be out in the ocean, even if it wasn't that far from the hive. There could only be so much stupor before one had to find other ways of sustaining oneself.

So he was scouting over the nets, still not feeling fully utilized, until when he gently tugged on a net he felt it give in a bit more. That's not right is there a hole in this or something? He went in the direction of the disturbance, grasping his portable shards trying to remember what it could be. Wait, I couldn't get close it could be an infestation.

No, if it was an infestation I would have felt it by now, I went over until I found a hole in the net, it was quite large, the rips were inconsistent, no the cuts were inconsistent these weren't pulled apart, they were cut.

----------------------------------------

I have not been able to put down my own personal ideas for a while, well I know that He who sees has the most of them stored here somewhere nothing in access to my memory, it seems my personal pod should be made most of what makes me up, and form this perspective I can store names pretty darn well with the being they belong to. An advantage of my supposedly worse memory storage system. Regardless, he has gone into stupor and, well, what's next? I'm acting as placeholder he who sees, at least for now, but I don't have a very good image of what that entails.

Stolen story; please report.

----------------------------------------

The scout had not returned He Who Measures continued counting,

The scout had not returned He Who Measures continued counting.

The scout had not returned He Who Measures continued counting, it was now 621 counts, and he who scouts had not communicated back, he pulled on the scouts string, and he brought it in for 20 counts, andit came back umpty, torn, nothing conecting it from the other side.

----------------------------------------

So here I am resting, well, digesting food, it's a type of min-stupor really, I am resting my body not thinking much letting my body repair itself with-out completely going into a comatose state. Well, I should not be thinking, but it's important I have an understanding of stupor and other form of rest in my personal shell. That's not something I want to forget, anyways I rest...

----------------------------------------

The outside workers needed He Who Sees for their work, it seemed there was something outside of their perception and they needed a perciever. So She Who Knows Where Things Are went to the overpod of He Who Sees and like the conumate worker that she was, (almost all her memory was used for stuff that helped with her role but no one other than her understands her role and what it entails). she reached in for communication.

Where is he who sees? Who are you?

Ah, a young one, memories not really complete, me? Wur? Nah, I'm She Who Knows Where Things Are. You don't understand that? It's a little complicated for Him's. No, you have trouble with communication? THe ideas are too complicated? How can that help?

Oh, your taking the role of He Who Sees while he's in stupor. THat's nice but how could you understand him if you can't understand me? He explained it multiple times in multiple different ways? Wow, you must really be fit for this role, you don't feel fit for others.

Guilt, I shouldn't have sent that, Apologies,. You'd prefer to be thought of as Ur-Im? We'll we need quicker communication while outside, so Ur-Im you are.

So He Who Sees is needed, and while you can't travel well, you know how to use that which helps us see. Oh, you've worked on your own version. Can you bring it with you? Well, then we should probably be on our way.

----------------------------------------

I was going out. I had a job to do and I would do it. I was fuuling useful complete, but before I get out I have to remember a few things. I would bring my personal pod with me as far up to the edge of the hive. I can not go to stupor outside of my pod that would be disastrous. I brought the shards I needed to properly communicate and use the seeing device, and I brought the seeing device best suited for the more turbulent waters outside the hive. Having what I needed for the journey, we began on our way.

I met the workers, and the warriors, the gave me their names, no their fast-communication-titles.

There was kri,

There was Hish

There were, well I'm having trouble ascribing them to sound-thoughts, I'll reorginise it with my writing shard.

----------------------------------------

She Who Knows Where Things Are returned with He Who Sees. Or a he who sees, it proclaimed itself to be Ur-Im, and obviously had a cracked pod. It could not travel quickly, but it seemed especially suited for the role of perscetion. Ur-Im would have to do.
