Chapter 86
It was in fact not awesome.
The idea itself was brilliant, not to toot my own horn, but practically speaking? Less so.
Like with all other fungi I interact with, the first step in creating my own personal bank would be to steal a bit of the mycorrhizal mycelium from the local hub and cultivate that. And just like the project to repair the burnt clearing, building a bank system for my nutrients while feasible would be a project that would take a long while to complete.
It was still worth doing, but I need something to tide me over until it’s finished.

Hmmm.
I mulled the problem over a bit and lazily directed my focus to my ad hoc time keeping operation. Growing to a mini mushroom to its full tiny size, then cannibalizing it while simultaneously growing a new one. Over and over. Counting all the while.
And then it hits me, why the fuck don’t I just do that!?
I could grow blocks of mycelium underground and when ever I need some nutrients I could just cannibalize a bit of it. Who the fuck even needs a bank system?
The idea had merit. It was kinda inelegant to be honest but it was hella practical though.
Heh. Practically the opposite of the bank idea.
Here I was doing calculus when I could have just done simple math solved the problem sooner.
Building a bank was still a wise thing to build though.
Just like real banking to be honest, you never wanted to put all your eggs in one basket.
